What a shame

Locked

I am writing this post based on a news in the local news paper.A woman used her lover to kill her father in law and mother in law for threatening to disclose her affair to her husband ,if she continues with it. she should not have done it; if she did not love her husband she could have divorced him and live with her lover. Now people here are becoming very narrow minded forgetting their rich tradition and culture. This is really a shame for the entire human community as humans are given intelligence to help each and every species on the Earth and make it a better place to live in.

In the city of Gurgaon a 7 year boy was murdered in the school toilet right from his ears accross his throat was slit ,police was not enough so the CBI now has taken over, why do these crimes take place. People watch TV several serials like CID,Crime patrol,India alert show incedents of crime how they took place and how the police got to the culprit,in my opinion people dont watch it to understand that ultimately the culprit is caught, they give more significance to how the crime was committed, because people dont trust the police what they show in the serials are true incidents but the role of the police does not look realistic in the eyes of most people, the crime that Rajukurup has related and the incident in a Gurgaon school are in line with what is shown on TV,people are picking up negatives from such serials, the government should stop them immediately.

I don't think it is television or movies. If it were, we'd probably all be dead.

Evil exists every where in the world. There is always some sort of excuse of
the evil doer. They watched killer moves, they were not loved, they lived in
poor environment, they were sexually abused, and so on and on and on it
goes.

For every torturous excuse, there is a hero excuse....

The person that lived in poverty but was determined and became a surgeon.
The person that was sexually abused as child but now heads a counseling center.
The person that grew up without love but now lives lovingly with a husband and children.

And so it goes.

Don't allow excuses for evil. Seriously.

There may be crap on tv and crap in the news and crap every where we turn.
However, there is absolutely no crap in the world that makes someone evil, except their self.

What you say may be true, but them again when given the opportunity on an hourly basis to live these atrocities vicariously, don't you think the human mind becomes numb to reasoning? I can't believe the world would not be a better place without all the garbage being spewed out in a constant stream.

TV shows to some extent can influence teenagers most tv programmes now a days in India are avoiding moral values and encouraging crimes . teenagers can easily be attracted to such vices if not properly trained as you said evil exist everywhere and it is the way we adjust to the circumstances that can help us avoid such evils .Awise man should have the ability to recognize evil and good deeds

Stopping all TV series about crimes and the police won't stop violence...some people are just evil and using TV as an explanation is just an excuse so people don't have to face the fact that society now is so bad that people have no qualms about killing children without a second thought

All TV serials dont show crime in reality,TV is a reflection of our society in a good and bad way,nor can a country stop a law enforcement agency however bad it may be,a system does not work the same way throughout the world,in many places the system has collapsed that is where crime is on the rise,I have watched these serials before a episode starts it shows that the incident is true the place where it took place the date the year ,I have noticed these crimes have taken place in places where illetracy powerty is high the crime rate is very high, people dont trust the system, that's where people look at the negatives and they replicate what they see in the serials

Everyone seems to forget that these atrocities were also commited long before there was anything called television, Violent computer games and so on.

Wanna go back to the dark middle-age? Well be my guest.

This is nothing new in the history of mankind, Back before the television and digital era these crimes were mostly un-noticed by the majority, Now everyone knows about it.

yes nikroj I agree with you evil and good were right from the begining of the era but ancient people were not as civilized as the modern people .Now people are well educated than the past and know the importance of moral values and media have a great role to motivate people in following moral values; but now a days media here are not following it, they are business minded and after money

It's not that I don't think the evil is more prominent today because I absolutely do believe it is.
I just don't believe that television makes people do evil things.

For example, today we have Headline News, Fox News, CNN, the Internet, and so on.

I'm old enough to remember life in the 1960's. We had craziness then too. I grew up by
Chicago. There was the Martin Luther King assassination, the Kennedy assassination,
the serial killer Richard Speck that killed 8 student nurses in Chicago (one lived because
she hid under the bed), school shootings (plenty of them), university riots and murders,
and it goes on and on.....I ask you....

What kind of television programs did we have in the 1960's that would cause school
shooting, assassinations, serial killers, etc? My gosh we had Captain Kangaroo,
Gilligan Island, Rocky and Bullwinkle, The Flintstones, Bonanza, The Fugitive, The
Bob Hope Show, Red Skeleton Comedy Hour.......and

In the 60's people on tv was still sleeping in twin beds and couldn't say the word
'hell' until the 70's.

I am not saying there are not influences. People are influenced.

What I am saying is, often evil doers are going to do evil and it is not because they
watched a movie or tv.

Many people do not even realize that school shootings took place even in the 1700's.
The first recorded was in the USA 1764.

Situation is not the same throughout the world,we did not have TV in the 1960's,crime rate was very low compared to today, there are lot of ristrictions now to contain crime, there are ristrictions on celeberations, partying outside your house after a certain time, live events that take place are allowed only till a certain time,I still remember when I was in college we used to go for live concerts which would go on till late in the morning but now government has laid down rules that no live event in a public place will be allowed beyond 11.00pm,life has changed drastically since we were in college, more than four people in a group not allowed after a certain time you will need to give an explanation these are all security concerns.

yes arvind the attitude of people vary from country to country ,in India as you said the media has a very pathetic role of spreading crimes; at the same time some programmes are welcoming. I remember two murders committed here in 2014 based on the same manner as pictured in a movie and some people are such that they are motivated by such crime thrillers; from this we can conclude that human mind is very complex ,what we think is different from what others think , so in my opinion media do have a small role in motivating crime

TV, movies, video games, guns, knives, and bombs don't kill people. People kill people.

Amen to that.

I still believe most people are good. Most people will run to help a neighbor in distress.

Almost immediately of the Las Vegas massacre, people are once more, hollering for gun
control. BUT it is like they don't even hear what they are saying. The 64 year old man
had rigged the guns. Does anyone of them stop to think that these days, people can
make guns? They can make bombs. He could have just as easily if not more easily,
tossed a couple of bombs into the crowd.

I agree we may need some stricter and I should say ENFORCED laws in regards to who
is purchasing them.

No matter what, people with good brains don't kill people. It is people with bad brains
that kill people and if they can't do it with a purchased gun, they will do it with a gun
they print out and if they can't do that, they will do it some other way and there are a
lot of ways.

All we can do in todays world is use more security, more precautions, and we all must
be very familiar with out surroundings every where we go.

I remember hearing a story, I don't know if it is true, that in WW2 exit interviews showed that the US soldier kill rate was much lower than the government anticipated. Most soldiers just didn't have the heart to fire on another human being.

By the time Vietnam rolled around, the US redeveloped their training so that soldiers were no longer using round targets in practice but started using human shaped targets. This apparently was enough to desensitize soldiers to the point that the kill rate went way up per soldier versus the kill rate in WW2.

Take it for what it is worth

I don't know if it is true or not but certainly could be. Sounds logical.

I would imagine in most cases of kill or be killed, kill is going to win.

Reminds me of the old Lee Marvin movie 'Hell in the Pacific'.

Some times the choices we make, are not ours. As stupid as that
sounds, it is true.
