Yesterday my 12 year old acer broke down because the hard drive had a stroke.
total cost to get it back to working would be over $400 with no guarantee that
some other thing like mother board etc etc would not die on me.
So I spend my last $$$ in my account to buy a new one.
One of the first to dig up was my ClixSense account so start earning again.
And right away I qualified for a 60c survey,

First bad sectors start's to happen, They're surely to fail (Question is when) ?? :?:

Hey dutch,
I had a similar problem about 3 years ago so I did some research. I figured out that I was using my computer most of the time to surf the internet, not use windows. In fact I found out that having Windows 8 on my computer was using up a ton of my ram & slowing down my computer and I wasn't even using it except IE. How can I turn Windows 8 off? Well, you can't.
More research and I finally clicked on these computers I kept seeing ads for and comments on, the chromebook. Long story short and I ended up buying my 1st Acer chromebook for $199. I loved it and I am now looking to buy another one.
You can still buy them for under $200 now & they are getting better all the time. No viruses, under 10 second startup and a battery that lasts from 8 to 10 hours. You do everything with apps on the internet and google has apps that can do just about everything windows does for free. No more buying the next windows edition or the latest Norton virus protection. If the chromebook breaks down after a couple of years, I just buy a new on. All the info I had in the broken computer has already been saved to the google cloud and I can access it from any computer, tablet or phone.
If you use your computer mostly to get onto the internet then a CBook may be for you.

Did you try purchasing an USB hard drive enclosure?

Few month my desktop quit on working, I was scare for hard drive and it turned out to be intact.

There enclosure available for 3.5 and 2.5 disk powered by USB 3, can work on USB 2
I even able transferring few file on laptop and when getting new desktop I simple will be able putting most important files in it! I get disk error while being connected to laptop but doesn't prevent transferring!

Perhaps your hard is still intact.
