My Danish dream is that we can maintain a wealthfare system which helps those in need, And when they need it.

But times are surely changing, The big political theme in Denmark right now is Public vs private wages and how much difference there should be between them (Nurses, Doctors, Teachers in the public sector) vs (Nurses, Doctors, Teachers in the private sector), Should public wages rise as much as the private ones (They're doing the same job) or should they be independant of each other.

So a major strike is announced in the middle of next month and much of our public infrastructure will come to a halt if they're unable to agree.

Our government has also decided to side with the Employers on this matter and declare a lockout on all of the employees in the public sector if they don't reach an agreement (That means no work, no wage) for all of them.

What is the American dream?are you going to drown,many American cities are drowning, or is it the capitalist form of democracy that has started effecting everyone, the process started a long time back what's amazing that with nearly 100% literacy people opted for a capatalist form of governance,same thing is happening in our country only difference is illetracy,poverty,joblessness is very high is very scary to even imagine what the conciquences are going to be.

Everyone want to work at least 20-30 dollars an hour. Work only 24-30 hours a week.

9-5 Jobs so everyone want stay at home and relax and take vacation around the world? That American dream?

Everyone want to own at least 2 car, latest iphone and safer neigborhood?

They blame the immigrant taking their job? The elite rich taking advantage third world poor country they make 5-10 bucks a day?

The immigrant from poor country want to move for richer country for a higher wages and experience how to own a house, car and iphone.


The solution pay everyone equal worldwide and it will end unfair wages worldwide.

Old is a burden in Australia

David, as usual, you are so very wrong on these things.

Exactly where do you expect to get these equal wages for all? Who will pay those equal wages? What is equal about a burger flipper and an engineer, wage wise? Do we do away with higher learning and good careers, make everyone a burger flipper, and pay them $50 an hour? Does everyone get some form of transport, clothing, healthcare, childcare, grocery allowance, housing, burial allowance? How will all that be paid? By whom?

Next, there will be a demand on X number of men vs women born. Next, there will be an age limit on living. And the list goes on. We already see people being denied the right to care for their ill children, being denied the right to even take them home to die peacefully, or to accept new methods of treatment. With everyone "equal", that means none of us ultimately will have any authority over our own bodies, families, etc.

Be careful what you wish, you might just get it.

What is that story about a college exam?

Picture a class full of students.

Teacher says exam is due at the end of the month, everyone has time to study/research.
1.) Some students spend weeks in the library studying hard.
2.) Some students study just enough to get a passing grade.
3.) Some students do nothing, have better things to do.

End of the month, test day.
Congratulations, Everybody is gets the same grade. Equality.


What will happen on the next exam?
1.) Will the students who sacrificed free time to study, study more or less?
2.) Will the students who studied just enough, study more or less?
3.) Will the students who ignored the exam, study more or less?

Will the top students be brought down or Will the bottom students enjoy
the free benefits and be brought up?


What will this generation look like?
What happens if everybody studies less?

HhhhMmmm,how much dream time do I have left?
At 82? not so sure,but if I get more than 2 or 3 more years
my dream of being able to support many organisations that

Not sure what all this discussion about equality has to do with the American dream? Maybe not being American I am wrong or my views have been distorted by the media but I have always understood the American dream of being able to make something of yourself with very little...I always understood that the American dream went back to mass immigration from places like Ireland and Italy who would come to America with nothing more than the clothes on their back and dream of being able to make a life there

It pretty much sums up my view on USA as well.

USA, A country where independency plays the biggest role in society, And you are your own responsebility whether you are doing well or not.

When i visit the states i see a closer connection between citizens and a lot more willingness to help and support each other(Especially in smaller communities), In Denmark we pretty much ask our municipality for help in all cases before considering anything else.

And US citizens also tends to have a little (Sometimes bigger) paranoia of the state, Which have to be as tiny as possible to not interfere with their personal freedom.

What are the social benefits in the US?, I would guess it differs from state to state, But an average?

My parent's dream were to have a simple life and to provide their children a decent education so that they could get a job with respectable pay. People of my age group at modern time dream in a different way.

Social, economic and political situation in America is changing as well as whole world is changing. it is interconnected world. since its inception America has been cause and effect of world dynamic then surely American dreams are bound to change. It's not time of funeral its time to gear up for new challenges and new changes( good or bad only time will tell)

Fox news promoting American dream is dead. They blame other poor country taking american jobs due slave labor oversea? They are blaming immigrant coming to american take jobs and they blame they lower their wages?

You can't blame the immigrant they want to make money as much they can? They want a better life for their future children.
