Its a gamble time will tell how right their decision was to buy majority stake in Flipkart, some facts they paid 16bn$ for the deal they wont make anything for 2-3 years, because Indian E-Commerce business is valued at 38Bn $,Amazon has the largest stake in the market, just because Flipkart was one of the large players Wallmart paid 16Bn$,did they commit sucide,in a competitive market, can Wallmart survive, with Amazon being the largest player.

They do not care what they will make for first few years, in any case global company cost nothing to take over another company , they raise money from share holder in instant

All this globalization is pure shit , it is just for rich western world to take what is left in poor world

Wallmart had opened couple of stores but all closed down, same thing bought a established business thought they just had to run it but did not work the outlets they opened dissapeared, its more important to understand consumer sentiments Amazon has done it well, wallmart half of India would think they sell wallnuts who needs wallnuts,Mr Sweetpie3000 seems you forgot Osama Bin Laden used to eat Wallnuts in his hole

There are three big players in Indian e commerce market i.e AMazon, Flipkart and Paytm mall. AMazon is already a global giant. Paytm is in collaboration with ALibaba and has capacity to deal with short term losses to gain long term market, it leaves Flipkart which is Indian giant but need to collaborate with an International big name to compete with other two. Walmart is natural choice as it was looking for opportunity to grow in Indian market. Recent move increase the competition. Hope it will play well for Indian customers .

Wow... That's interesting. I wasn't aware they were trying to expand to India.
