Progressive
The right to choose a government is an democratic statement beyond that it means nothing.

Basically the notion of democracy is pure and utter rubbish, you are basically choosing which person(s) you will enrich, whom will benefit from 6 figures of salary regardless of the economy, and regardless of his/her performance, by the time he/she quits or loses next election they will retire with a hefty 6 figures and live a lavish lifestyle at retirement, so it makes no bloody difference whether one can choose head of state or not, because in the end regardless of who you vote for, we get f***** in the arse with politics, lies, corruption and gauging. It's not about voting who will represent our bloody interests, but who's lives we will enrich.....
We now return you to your regularly scheduled programme.

monarchy. Despotic. Corrupt. Fascist (a few huge corporations run government -- "military industrial government complex") and everyone else is slave. Communist (government is the one huge corporation running the government -- has conquered all the competition), and everyone else is slave.

:?:
am I close?

Doesn't matter who chooses head of state, even in democracy, candidates will go through selling their souls in fake promises and bullsh*t lies to get you to elect them, once they are in office they do exactly the opposite of what they said they would do, so it's corruption either way, and yes even in my country it is rampant, from all sides, in construction and in politics, be it federal or provincial, allegedly. There is only one US politician who allegedly kept is promises or at least most of them, he managed to cause chaos and rattle a lot of feathers, but hey, the economy is doing well, the stock market has been up big time since his election until now, I'm sure those with 401ks will appreciate that - I wish our politicians here kept a FRACTION of those f* promises.

A GOOD politician will serve the interest of the SUCKERS who put them there, BUT also a good politician must make some difficult decisions that are sometimes not always popular but at the best interest of the country, its security and well being of people, the economy and business.

So yeah what's the bloody difference anyway if you can choose your head of state or it is chosen for you, either way, the person in power will serve THEIR interest FIRST, they will keep selling you that there is no money and that they do not have the budget - YET when it comes close to election time, somehow money MAGICALLY appears from everywhere, all of a sudden they have all the f* money to spend here and there that they did not have yesterday, and they make big and unrealistic promises if they get re-elected and the "PEOPLE" fall for this SCAM and re-elect the same d-bags of politicians who play the SAME GAME, once they are elected, ooops, no more money, we are in debt, we are in high deficit, and the same bollocks every term.

It's no wonder the voting participation % is very low here - The only promise our Prime Minister kept is legalising weed, and such actions has already caused road accidents many involving people under the influence of pot whilst driving their bloody cars !

Did he lagalise pot for people's interest ? NOPE and I won't go into why I think he did.

So yeah, Tasman1, kindly remind me once again what's the use of democracy anyway and what good does it give you if you have the right to choose your head of state or if one is FORCED upon you is there a difference ? The only thing they do not tax around here is breathing air and wiping our arses - Though in some countries they charge you to use their toilet, extra for using toilet paper and I'm not kidding, this is true - and if you are answering surveys on politics, you are also contributing to the corruption, because a majority of those politician surveys are manipulated ! :D

Remember next time you vote, ponder upon how useful your "right" to decide........ it's a dead end, no matter who you vote for the country will dive deeper into the mud hole.

I dont know how I would classify such a country... I just know how I would not classify it: Democracy.

Anyway, talking about politicians I bet they are getting richer and richer...(i'm not insinuating here that they are profiting of the system for it)...This would be very unfair  think about it: would someone dedicate his entire life to politics just to touch barely 40X than a normal worker+ benefits, or even less depending on the area that he could act in private sector If he didn't love his country or genuinely cared about his fellow citizens or even dreamed about changing it, :?: :?::?: :silent:
