FaceApp isn't stealing your pics. But it's not wrong to be creeped out - CNN Video

Even if you had a Facebook account in the past and closed it,its still there, they dont shut it down it just becomes inactive,if you enter the user name and password of your Facebook account that you may think you closed will reactivate, thats how accounts are still there.

I would go so far as to say most people do not realize the danger they put
themselves in, with much of this stuff online.

For example, many people on Facebook post their location at all times.
I think that is absolutely horrible. Why do you need to tell the world
where you are at every exact moment and who really cares?

All I can say is, Hitler would have loved the internet.

What's the big fuss about facebook, they are not stealing anything. It's people who do not read the fine print before joining a site, basically any content you post on FB becomes their property, they may use your content and/or photos, etc, for promotional purposes without any compensation. It is clearly stated. How do you think Facebook makes its money and provide a free service. People are so unreasonable to accuse facebook of stealing, they aren't stealing anything. It is people who are not too smart in leaving so much of their life on Facebook, where they live, their address, their phone number, where they work, their kids' name, where they go to school, and some people post updates of where they go, when they leave the house, when they go to the toilet, what they did there, etc. I've been on Facebook for so many years, and nobody has stolen anything. They have made lots of changes to privacy settings since.

If you are already on FB and upload photos, you should not worry about FaceApp storing your picture :P
The only thing you might be concerned of is FaceApp allegedly having access to your entire gallery of photos, but many apps have this permission anyway.

Here is an interesting read:

FaceApp: Is The Russian Face-Aging App A Danger To Your Privacy?

P.S. I cannot be arsed to use this app anyway, why would I wanna get depressed seeing what I will look like when I am old, I am not even looking forward to this so I do not need to be reminded. Why can't people live their life day to day, this app is so overrated, wow, 80 million users, I mean really ?

80+ million downloads, SHOCKED..... Why can't we put AI to good use, why do we need to fast forward time and see what we will look like in 50 years ? What's next ? An app to look into what diseases we will have in the future ?

There are people starving to death.........there are diseases that BADLY need cure, why can't we put resources and money into things that actually matter, instead of wasting time with this utter nonsense, that and trying to find E.T.s on other galaxies / universes / parallel worlds, etc........ Trillions of $ thrown down the toilet.

It's quite amazing what AI can do - there is another AI app that can generate a brand new ultra realistic face, it's amazing how realistic and flawless - why can't we put this technology to good use ? Well they put it on planes and they crashed :D but that is due to poor QA. AI has potential but used in the wrong areas.

On this same topic, I remember there was an app talked about on the news which can take a picture of someone and show them NAKED. Same concept, through AI. Of course due tot he negative press, the author removed the app.

So what's next ? If you make an app to encourage world peace, taking care of poverty, feeding the hungry, how many downloads will you get ? hundreds ? But make an app to transform fully clothed individual into their naked self, or one which shows you what you will look like in 50 years, with stunning accuracy, then you get 100 millions of downloads !

This is truly revealing on what we have become as humans :P
