Inexpensive Christmas Gifts - Can you name some? » Post #7

Tue Dec 04, 2012 16:17 in General Talk

The little flashlights are always a good buy. I've ordered them from HSN two or three Christmas's and have always been satisfied with them. They're nice to place in your handbag and even to keep one by the fuse box, etc.

Socks, gloves, hats are usually a good buy unless you're giving it to someone that lives in a warm climate.

I bought a couple sets of the merino wool socks at qvc last night. Mostly good reviews but some not so good. Those
are 3 pair for I think it was about $25. If you have a few men on your list, those are suppose to be very warm boot
socks so one pair for each man, would be a nice yet inexpensive gift.

Young women/girls usually like cosmetics, nail polish, bubble bath and that sort of thing, can always get items like that at relatively inexpensive prices.

Walmart sells many gift sets. I like the ones that have coffee mugs or a travel mug, or soup cups included. Usually they have the mugs and a package or more of coffee and altho vary in price, some very nice ones for $5 to $10.

Inexpensive Christmas Gifts - Can you name some? » Post #1

Looking for some inexpensive gifts for Christmas? Maybe you can suggest some? Here is some ideas I thought of or have came across:

QVC - sells a unique item of 3 mini cell handbags for about $24. That pans out to about $8 per gift. So if you have 3 women in your life, those make a very nice, unique, and inexpensive gift. They are little handbags that will hold a cell phone and a few other teeny items such as lipstick. They mini handbags can be clipped to your belt loop, larger handbag, etc. Very cool items.

Privacy Stamper - I saw these on QVC too but no doubt they could be found else where. These are very cool too. You know the numerous magazines and junk mail people get, will have their name and address on them. Well, you take this little stamper, and stamp on the address which hides the address. You just have to see these items because they are really unique and a very bright idea plus, very inexpensive.

Office Supplies - Ok, who doesn't need office supplies these days? From pens and pencils to printer paper. I'd much rather have a package of printer paper then something I will never use.

Calendars - Well, some of these are rather unique today. Calendars always make a great Christmas gift and it seems one can never have enough of them. They're always a great and inexpensive gift for Christmas since the new year is right after Christmas and everyone's calendars are near the end.

House shoes - I go through these like ice cream or maybe faster. They're always a hot item at Christmas time and many are only $5 to $10.

Magnifying glass/Letter opener - Alrightie some of the most simple and inexpensive gifts, are often never thought of. I don't know why it is but often a magnifying glass and a letter opener are sold as a set. It doesn't matter if you are young or old, everyone can use a magnifying glass. Plus, these items look nice on a desk.

Oh, and to add to that, with hopes of not pissing off too many people, when something is made in one country for another country, how much pride do you think goes into that work?

Speaking for the USA, of course, when manufacturing was here, workers also took pride in their work because they knew it might be their self or their children or their aunt and uncle or their grandkids or close friends, that would be buying and using the very product they built.

It's like the American Flags that were made in China. Frigging insane! It's a nutty world.

I don't know how people are going to keep up in this techno age.

I don't know how old people are that are reading this but if you are in my age bracket you know what I am about to say is true.

That is, years ago when something was made, it was made mostly by hand and the people that made the stuff, took a lot of pride in their work. When you bought something like a furniture and appliances, they would last many many many years and if you took very great care of them, they often lasted more than one persons life-time. Just as important, the manufacturers and owners of those companies, took a lot of pride in their products and they wanted their products built high quality and built to last.

Those days are over, for the most part. Spend two grand on a refrigerator and hope like hell it still works tomorrow and if it doesn't better hope you paid a couple hundred for a warranty.

Now it's 'Welcome to the Techno Age' in which most of our stuff is made but we don't care how long it lasts because we're busy spending our time trying to roll out an updated product so we can suck more bucks out of the poor consumers.

I imagine the next deal will be the new mini ipad with retina display. Well, you know what they can do with that one, don't you!

I said I would follow up after receiving the mini iPad. All I can really say is, I like it. For me, it is a good size and that is one major reason why I got it, that and the fact it is an iPad that I can sync with my other apple products.

Everything loads fast. It holds it's charge very well. The display is real good and I did download a movie from netflix to view the display and looks real nice. I have not ever viewed a retina display so don't know how much better the display would be but this looks great to me. Also downloaded some apps and all was fast with that. Downloaded the netflix app, piano app for fun, the pack of several apps......all free apps is what I've downloaded so far.

It's easy to hold in one hand. Fits nicely in my handbags and is light weight.

I'm very happy with it and plan to download some free books to read. :P

If Romney supporter. Are you going moving out your country now!!! :D :D :D

I think your correct to one big extent but also I think there were a lot of people afraid of Ryan. Why candidates choose who they choose for their running mate, is beyond me. I don't think anyone could see Ryan as president and of course if something happen to Romney, that is exactly who would be president. I also think that a lot of people were unsure as to what exactly Romney and Ryan would do.....they did not relay any infinitive plans and to top it off, many were afraid they would knock out SSI altogether.

I didn't vote for Obama the first time and I didn't vote for him this time either. Hopefully we'll have a better 4 years than the previous but some how, I think it's going to be a lot worse.

I don't like people taking about negative stuff about your country. It is not good thing . The rest of the world want American as failed as country. We got to prove them wrong the rest of the world we are stronger than ever.''

Thinking negative isn't so good for country. Let pray and god!!

I'm not one to bullshet or hoopla when there is nothing to hoopla about. Guess I've just never been that type of a person and sure not about to change now.

I'm so old, I almost hitchhiked to woodstock.

I'm so old, I thought the 'I see you talk phone' at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, was total psyfy.

I'm so old, I remember going in Michael Jackson's house when I was kid, with his cousin Helen.

I'm so old, I tested tv tube's at the grocery store.

I'm so old, I remember when McDonalds sold hamburgers/cheeseburgers, french fries, and soft drinks.....only!

I'm so old, my twiggie doll was flat chested.

I'm so old, the tough late night decision was to watch Joey Bishop OR Johnny Carson.

I'm so old, my 45's melted.

I'm so old, I remember gasoline at $0.27 gallon.

I'm so old, I feel like I live in another world!

Ya, in the USA we refer to boob tube as the tv also.

gobbledygook, in the USA, we also say some times if we have some sort of junk on us, such as paste all over our hands 'I've got to get this gobbledygook off my hands'.

ZeekRewards - Affiliates Subpoenas » Post #1

ZeekRewards receiver moves against affiliates who profited - Greensboro - The Business Journal

Don't ever think you can't get in trouble for simply being a member in online fraud schemes.
You certainly can. In the article above, they have stated at least 1,200 affiliates will receive subpoenas to appear in court. They will be given the opportunity to turn over all the funds they received from Zeekler. Just think if they made $100,000 or more....just think if they bought a house with the money or cars with the money or furniture with the money....and just think if they don't have the money to give back! At least if they can return the money, they might get lucky and step away without prison time.

Just a brief reminder, the internet does not mean you can participate in illegal activities and get away with it.
