Do you have a new years resolution?

I'm not sure what resolutions I will make for the new year. I'll have to think about that.

Sun Dec 25, 2011 16:39 in General Talk

My Christmas dinner sounds very boring compared to yours oberder. Wow, all kinds of foods. Makes me wonder what all that food taste like. I love coconut, I'd probably enjoy those coconut dishes.

Here we had today, baked ham, green beans, whipped potatoes, potato salad, dressing, rolls.
We also have pineapple upside down cake, peanut butter fudge and chocolate fudge, and cookies.

Do you believe in Santa Claus? » Post #5

Sun Dec 25, 2011 01:31 in General Talk

Santa does a lot of good the world over.

Unlike the spider that sat down beside her, or the wicked stepmother feeding poor snow-white a poison apple, or the poor rock a by baby that falls from the tree top, or kissing ugly toads hoping for a prince, or the bad wolf that ate poor grandma or the poor pigs or ...

It is really strange when you think about it. I think there is almost something a bit deranged in those writers that came up with those stories. Perhaps, even something more deranged in us, that have noted them classic fairy tales and read them to our children.

One must admit, even the road runner is a mighty violent bird.

Santa is one of the few strong and one of the few good. Nothing wrong with Santa except him sneaking down those chimneys in the dark of night. Santa makes donations. Santa delivers presents to the poor and needy. Santa
feeds children and adults. Santa leaves money and often very big money, to charities. Santa visits the retirement
homes and nursing homes. Santa visits children's hospitals. Santa brings cheer, faith, and hope. Santa is everything
good in the world.

Always believe in Santa, no matter how old you get. He is one of the few we can count on. :P

PS. Santa also teaches good work ethics. :D

Whats for Christmas Dinner - Yum Yum » Post #14

Sat Dec 24, 2011 16:36 in General Talk

I had a good day. Most everyone ate something different. Most the kids ate pizza. I had shrimp. My son had country steak. I think my son-in-law had steak. They had long tables and pushed two together to make room for us all. It was nice and the restaurant was decorated, Christmas tree and all, so we had the Christmas spirit going. Most of them I had not seen in some time and it's always mind blowing to see how fast the grand kids grow in a relatively short period of time.

The weather was pretty nice also. Bright sunny day, in the low 50's. A tad chilly but I'm not complaining, no rain, no snow, a nice day for a drive too.

I was up in Northern Indiana, by Gary, Calumet City, Highland, etc. Went to grade school with Michael Jackson's cousin.

Referrals - Out of the Box Tips » Post #1

Sat Dec 24, 2011 07:40 in General Talk

I know that most the time we get stuck in the same ole box when it comes to promoting. People tend to take the same ole route, advertising at bux sites, advertising thru traffic exchanges, advertising on banner exchanges, etc etc etc.

I thought I'd share with you, some out of the box, ways to gain referrals. Can you think of some out of the box ways to gain referrals? This might be a good place to share those ideas.

*One I did some years ago was a 'work at home with disabilities' web page. Now I must say, I did not create the page to promote CS as CS did not even exist at that time. You would not believe the attention that page drew...a lot. I had my
phone number on it and I even received phone calls. Since that page did so well, I am considering creating another, targeted to people that have disabilities that are seeking to make extra income online.

*Over a year ago, my house was destroyed by fire. I'm actually living in a small addition that I had built onto my shop.
I'm in the process of rebuilding and I do have a new house up. However, the house won't be finished until summer. It's
sort of an empty shell at the moment. I started working on a page some months ago, that I have not finished. This page
is targeted at people that have lost their homes do to some sort of disaster. This page is to explain how home owners
insurance works, what to do, what to expect, all the ins and outs....but it also focus is on 'replacement costs'...because
when you lose everything, you have nothing...those items must be replaced and insurance depreciates what you had...
therefore, the page explains how they can get cash back and make extra money, to help them in their long journey to
help cover their replacement costs.

*Weird Stuff - Can you think of things people in general search for by the thousands every day? Well I can think of some things. Cars, Vehicles, Boats, Medical Advice, Mortgage Crisis, and the list goes on and on. You can create content pages and place a CS banner on the pages. You can even say 'Please Click The Banner to Keep Our Web Page Free'. You may even be able to target these people by saying something like 'Make Extra Money to Purchase Your Dream Car'.

*Tell a Story - This is a big one. If you can tell an interesting story whilst doing it in a way that has a lot of content and
keeps the visitor interested from the first sentence to the last, you can be in like flint. :D Example might be 'divorce' in which people are now on a single income.

*All about YOU - Even if you don't think so, you have something you like very well. Do you sew? Do you babysit? Do you work at a factory? Do you have pets? Are you an artist? What do you do? What do you like to do? Think of something you can talk about that you enjoy talking about. When you enjoy something and/or you have a lot of information about something, create a page about it. Create an article on your blog about it. The thing is, when you have such information, there are lots of other people out there that either want that information or can relate to that information. How do you pay your vet bills, how do you find the extra money to sew new curtains, how do you make money for paint supplies, how do you compensate to make more money besides babysitting, how do you help pay your college education....? etc. I'm sure you can see where I am going with this. You can easily place CS banners and / or explain to others that land on your page due to their same interests, what you are doing to make extra money. It's these types of pages that go in the search engines and google loves them because they contain REAL info that PEOPLE SEARCH for.

There's a lot of out of the box things you can do. This is just a few examples.

Whats for Christmas Dinner - Yum Yum » Post #12

Sat Dec 24, 2011 07:01 in General Talk

It sure sounds good rheydickson. It's interesting the different foods people eat around the world.

bpizor, I was born and grew up in Indiana. I lived in Florida for a year, back in 2000 I think it was, been to Hilton Head too.
Also have friends in North Carolina, not far from Wilmington. He's a nuclear engineer and she's a teacher. They're originally from the Chicago area too (Indiana), we all grew up together, same neighborhood, same block. One of their children bought 6 Chicago deep dish pizza's and brought to North Carolina. I guess they froze them. That's what their having for Christmas eve today also, pizza.

Looking for Chocolate Chip Bread Recipe » Post #12

Fri Dec 23, 2011 23:16 in General Talk

It turned out good but not as good as I would like. It was very good, rich, for what it was.
I was just expecting more of a giant brownie, I guess. :P
Too many chocolate chips. It tasted like a giant chocolate chip.

I think the next time I make it, I will use the chocolate pudding and put nuts in it.
Also, I will cut down on the amount of chocolate chips.

I froze half of it.
