Walk Along - 1. - Recognition » Post #1

Do walk alongs in order. This is number 1.

Would you rather enroll under a rock or a real person that is honest?
See my picture over there ===========>
That is the exact same picture I have been using online for 15 years!

The first thing you want to do is choose some sort of image and NEVER change it.
Use that exact same image whenever you can, wherever you can, on whatever pages you may create.

Now take a look at my user name ===========>
Never refrain from the same user name. The only time you should change your user name is when it
is already taken. IF it is already taken, again, never refrain from your second user name.

When my user name is taken, I have a couple of others that I will use. I've been doing this for 15 years.
I never refrain from those user names if I can help it.

Are you camera shy? If so, look in your photo album and find a good picture of your dog, your cat, or
something that you will always use.

When people see my picture, they know who I am don't they?
Well yes, they will if they have seen my picture before.
They know I am a real person.
What is someone is wandering around looking for a sponsor and they see my user name?
They might say 'oh that's probably Valerie, I know her, I will go ahead and sign up'.

Stop changing images of yourself and stop changing user names.

People don't really care what you look like. We're all human and we all have flaws. In marketing
we're not out to win a beauty contest and none of us are concerned about what you look like. What
we are concerned about is knowing that you are human and recognizing you. We don't want to sign
up with cheaters or robots or fake people or not know if it's really legit, do we? No. So we are going
to go with recognition whenever possible.

Here is a scenario for you...

John visits ClixSense and he has never heard of it before. He briefly looks at it and leaves.
A few days later John sees a web page that has a picture of someone on it, he has seen that same
person's picture before. The web page he views is relaying info about ClixSense. John clicks the
link and signs up. Why did John sign up now but did not sign up before? Did he recognize the
picture of the owner of the page? Did that help in getting John to read more about the info?
Did that help in getting John to sign up? The answer is probably YES.

When you see a program over and over and over and over again, what happens?
You RECOGNIZE it don't you? Of course you do because you have seen it over and over again.

Something so very simple but still, most people don't do it. Stick to a pic, put that pic on whatever
you do, stick to a user name, always use that same user name.

Another thing about user names....try to make your user name simple and memorable.
Let's look at these user names:

ka12c9jlmd7
valerie

Which one of those user names will you remember?
Which one of those user names can you pronounce?
Which one of those user names are you most likely to recognize?

What else can you do for recognition?

Name, first and last, country, state.

What about this ========>
It says USA doesn't it? Yep.
When you put your real fist name, real last name, real country, real state, same user name, same state...
on a page and you do this as often as you can with everything you do, eventually people are going to
RECOGNIZE YOU.

Unless you are a cheater, got something to hide, then why hide?
Use recognition to your advantage.

So even if you are camera shy, don't want to put your face online....use a baby picture of you, use
your favorite pet photo....just remember, whatever pic you use, make sure it is one you can live with
online and never change it.

Go now, grab a pic, upload it to your puter. You'll need it in future walk alongs.

Losing 30 pounds in one month is bad for your body. I don't think 10 or 15 pounds would be too much
in a first month because the first 5 pounds or more, can easily be water weight.

Once you get started learning to cook without meat, you really don't miss it.

I eat most of what everyone else eats, I just leave out the meat. I make chili without meat.
I make casseroles without meat. For example a lot of people make broccoli casserole and put
cut up chicken in it...you really don't need the chicken at all in it...it's just as good without it.

Plus, if you think about the high costs of meat and not to mention meat is going up another 5%
or so, you really will save money.

I make tea about once every two days. In the summer time, every day. I put 2/3 cup of sugar
to a pitcher. I don't think the pitcher's I use is a full gallon. Probably half gallon. I probably drink
two big glasses of tea a day, more some times like in the summer.

With food, I think it's a lot about acquiring tastes. Once you start eating the same things, you
tend to acquire a taste for it, then you get use to eating it, then your taste and body desires it.
So what ya got to do is acquire the tastes for something else. At first some things may not taste
as good without meat. But it really doesn't take long before you have acquired the taste without
the meat...and you don't even miss it.

I drink diet coke and I eat sweets at times and ice cream. Not saying sugar is good for you but
I really don't think sugar puts on the fat like fat meat does.

It's a good idea to drink a lot of water each day. That's probably the number one thing in America
that leads to so many health problems....not drinking water. It's the water that is going to make
you feel more energetic, going to cleanse out toxins, keep your system running clean, keep your
skin looking fresh, keep your colon cleansed.

I laugh some times at all the skin creams and stay young potions people buy and pay high price for.
Your skin will stay far more youthful if you drink water. I started the water thing when I was in 8th
grade. My face had started breaking out and none of the potions for teenagers worked, I'd still get
breakouts. I had an aunt that was into all sorts of natural health things and she told me to drink
water. I started drinking 8 full glasses of water a day and it was not but a couple of weeks and my
skin cleared and I never had another break out. I never stopped drinking lots of water after that.
I won't say I look like a teenager because I don't. But for almost 56 years old, I can easily pass for
age 45. No one believes me when I tell them my age. I have to attribute it to water because there
is no other reason I can see for it. My sister is 5 years older than I, she never drinks water, and
she has looked 60 years old since she was 50. I also think water helps rid the body of excess fats.
I mean to me, it just makes common sense. If you eat a fattening meal, and you don't drink water,
that is going to have a not so nice time passing thru your system.

People buy a lot of colon cleansing products too. Now this is truly a big waste of money. The best
thing you can do to cleanse your colon is drink water. Eat roughage, drink water, and you'll have
a pretty colon.

I make a lot of stir fry for supper meals.

I really don't like to mention this on forums but for the most part, I am a vegetarian.
So I eat a lot of fish and other foods and stay away from most meats. I will in fact
eat meat occasionally. I also do eat eggs.

When I make stir fry, there is no meat in it.

I buy large packages of mixed vegetables and/or cut up fresh veggies. I use some
times white rice and some times brown rice. Mix in the veggies. I'll use soy sauce
some times but I don't like soy sauce for the most part, so I will use very little of it
when I do use it. Some times I will put butter in it and/or other seasonings.

I think people in America especially, rely too much on meat. When I was growing up,
it was like a meal was not a meal unless there was meat included. We'd have pork
chops one night, cube steak another night, beef stew another night, chicken another
night and so on. Even at breakfast there was either bacon or sausage.

I'm not knocking eating meat per se. I just think people in some countries like
America, eat wayyyy too much of it.

I also think it's a leading cause of obesity in America. I really don't think it's the sugar
and soda so much as it is the meat.

DoomsDay Preppers - Anyone watch it? » Post #1

Wed Feb 08, 2012 12:42 in General Talk

There's a new show on television called 'DoomsDay Preppers' and it started last night.
They put two shows on back to back, each 1 hour in length.

I found it very interesting, laughable, and informative too.

One man made his family home out of shipment crates....you know the big metal shipping crates that
are usually seen at ocean shipping docks. Those are pretty neat and I have viewed them in youtbue
videos as people buy them for about 5 thousand dollars each, then make houses out of them. Anyway,
this one man made a big square fortress out of them. In the middle of them is where he plants food..
the garden area is open. Inside the crates is living rooms, kitchen, and many storage areas for food.
I think they said they have enough food to last their families 15 to 22 years. They spend their entire
day preparing foods for canning, training in self defense, and even their children know how to defend
themselves and use weapons.

On one of the shows, a woman would buy eggs when they were selling at low cost, she then would
put plastic thin toss away gloves on, rub each egg, and put them back in the egg crate and store them.
She side by wiping them off in that fashion, the eggs would be good for 18 months. That is without
refrigeration...just wipe each one off with a plastic glove. I seriously going to do my research on that.

Maybe if I was a kid or in my twenties, I could see this more but not so sure I could...I mean, the extreme
lengths that people go to in preparedness for a doomsday scenario. I would rather die than live my life
like that. I think all those people truly enjoy living their life that way. Some people climb mountains,
some people live their life day to day preparing for the end of the world or a major breakdown of life
as we know it.

If we have a nuclear war or out entire infrastructure breaks down, and things become an all out
survival mode....I want to be dead. I think it's wise to have extra supply of food, water, and things
like that on hand....because you never know when their might be an electric outage for days or
there might be a natural disaster that you have to live thru for some weeks or a few months.

I'd just prefer to be dead than have to fight people or watch my skin fall off after a nuclear disaster
or become sick and be no way to get help, or any of that. I guess I am a whimp but to me, living
like that is not life. I can't live my life every day worrying what might happen tomorrow.

Still, the show is very interesting and if you can get it, watch it. They might even post snip its of
it on youtube or else where online. I'm sure it's already getting a whole lot of feedback.

I like egg burrito's. I was reading some recipes recently of how you can make egg burritos and then put
them in the freezer. I thought that was a good idea. You could make up several at one time, freeze them,
put in microwave when you want to eat one.

I've never ate a sardine. There use to be a kid on the school bus when I was in high school, he would
bring a can on the bus, open it, then stick it under the nose of the little girls. Everyone would
scream as he dangled sardines on the bus. Then he would eat one and all the girls would scream even
louder. A lot of people like them and they may taste good but I'll never know. And yep, I usually
see people eat them with hot sauce.
