Today it is a song by a group that one of my sons introduced me too.

King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard - 'Hot Wax'

Here I go again . . .

I just really enjoy finding interesting music and also different interpretations of well-known songs.

I particularly enjoyed 'Stole You' (is that a fair translation?).

I saw a promo for the new movie "Baby Driver" and it has the music of one of my all-time favourite rock songs.

This isn't a particularly good video but it has reasonable sound quality:

Golden Earring - Radar Love (on Midnight Special in 1974)

I also enjoyed the video of the live performance with 1000 drummers!

Guns 'n' Roses - Sweet Child of Mine as you are not likely to have heard it before.

I think this is an absolutely fantastic interpretation of this song.

A little whimsical melancholia from a duo that usually produces raunchy comedy.

Then Christopher "Rabbit" Bennett became Isabella "Bunny" Bennett and along with twin brother David, and the other musically and artistically inclined automatons, they continue to entertain their fans:

A very good way to learn a little basic French; just in case you ever need to ask a Frenchman (or Frenchwoman) the month in which they were born.

If the only version of this song you know is by 'The Animals', you really should listen to this:

Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood - Nina Simone

And if you want to hear more of this quality, then listen to this one:

Sinnerman - Nina Simone

I have no idea what the lyrics are but there is something about Gurrumul's music that touches a place deep inside my being.

Redgum - I've Been To Bali Too - promo video 1984 - YouTube

This song made it to the Top 20 on the Australian Singles Charts in the mid-80s and was reasonably popular. It was nowhere near as successful as "I Was Only Nineteen (A Walk in the Light Green)", which was essentially a protest song in support of servicemen who were being treated as pariahs because they had fought in the Vietnam war.

Despite that, I discovered these while I lived in Pais Vasco, just to add to the international mix. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but they're definitely unique, and I like 'em.

Eurovision! I found it a lot more interesting and much more enjoyable back when contestants were required to sing in the official language of the country they were representing. I wish they would go back to that rule.

My username is non-random - that's rake as in reikall, or wanderer. I've lived a lot of places, and that was one of them. Cultural osmosis, I suppose.

Well thank you again. You have passed on some of what you experienced to another corner of the world. Does reikall come from your ethnic origins?

Interestingly, I played several videos of DesiSlava's before seeing the thumbnail on the RHS of the player for

LIVE : DesiSlava - Secret Concert / full tv rip - YouTube

which I have playing at this very moment. It is a pity that performers such as this do not get decent air-play to wider markets. I am enjoying this concert video very much.

DesiSlava - My Pleasure, My Pain (Live On "Pei s men";) - YouTube

Thank you for posting with this song. I enjoy being introduced to music in other languages. How did you find it?

On DesiSlava's official website this song is listed as a single released in 2008 but it does not appear as a track that I can see on any of her albums. I have found that she sings in Bulgarian, Spanish and English.

The music, lyrics and arrangement of "My Pleasure, My Pain" are all by John Themis, the guitarist on stage with DesiSlava and this performance seems to have been the first live performance of the single.
