:idea: Head's up -- Software updates

Google
has released Chrome Cleanup Tool v6.44.4; this tool is designed to ensure clean out any remaining components left after uninstalling Chrome ( for preparing a clean re-install ) -- this small tool at 4Mb, is available at the main publisher's downloading hub, and most reputable downloading sites

PeaZip has released PeaZip v6.0.0; this Freeware compression tool does the same function as the Shareware program WinZIP / WinRAR and another Freeware program 7Zip -- it comes in as an offline installer, and a portable variant. Both are offered at the main publisher's site, and the offline installer is available at most reputable downloading hubs

You can ask the Staff in regards to extending your subscription, by filling out a HelpDesk Ticket

Or, just wait til the due date of your subscription -- a button prompt will appear when your subscription will be ending and will ask you if you want to extend it

That's why kailangan na i-note mo, bilang complainant, ( at least ) the estimated time when you started filing the complaint, how long your call took; what small details you may note that displeased you while the call was being handled ( especially in regards to the agent handling your call )

:!: Never open any emails, no matter if it looks like it's legitimate from the source -- opening any of these is an invitation to a phishing scam ( where they can steal your online info/identity/etc )

If you receive anything like that ( like from PayPal ) that says something like 'someone is trying to access your account' and offers links for you to make the necessary changes -- DON'T CLICK ON THEM!

Go to PayPal directly, and try to contact their personnel in regards to the said phishing email -- and when you can, start replacing your passwords

Piriform has now released CCleaner v5.15.5513; the new update is available as a Standard offline installer* ( which comes with a Chrome wrap-in installer, for those who don't have Chrome installed in their gear ) and as a Portable variant -- the installers are available at the main publisher's downloading hub, and most reputable downloading hubs

* For those that with to have the offline installer without the Chrome wrap-in installer, CCleaner Slim will be available at least one week after the Standard variant's release, and will be offered only at the main publisher's site

Tech news update

Just recently, the SCMagazine has reported that Comodo Internet Security software has a major security flaw; known as the second significant security flaw discovered this month -- when a user installs Comodo in its default configuration, it adds a tech support application called GeekBuddy that installs a VNC server using an insecure default password -- basically putting local privilege escalation available to unprivileged users

Either they go re-download a fresh copy, as indicated on the Linux Mint blog and check the SHA codes to ensure it's integrity -- or pull-back to a previous variant; a minor headache indeed

Pwede i-file for complaint sa SKYBroadband ( or any telco ) dahil sa service by calling thier service numbers -- at kung di ma-resolve, pwede i-escalate ang ticket ( complaint ) -- just remember tht pag mag-gagawa ng Ticket sa mga telcos, ask the agent's name, the ticket number; keep track of the time and estimated time of resolution the agent will inform you of.

BTW, keep note as well as the small details that happens during the call ( ex: the agent has always put you on hold without informing you / being rude / etc )

Always have a pen and paper ready when doing this ;)
