Obviously you don't give personal information about your identity or your accounts to just anywhere, even if it says a name of a reputable site via email -- and never click on any links that the said email contains -- EVER!If you have an email ( not yet opened ) and you see the header says something like that -- DON'T OPEN IT ANYMORE!* -- open a new tab, then go directly to the main site, and look at their updates; if you can, try to contact their staff and support in regards that you received 'a notice to update' -- if they confirm that it's not theirs, you can either mark the said mail as Spam, and/or report it to Paypal and allow them to deal with it
Again -- Never give personal info of yourself via email -- always make sure that it's legit, and do try to go to the site and check under HTTPS to avoid loss
*if by chance you opened it, quickly go to your email's settings and change your password ASAP -- preferably to a much stronger one -- log out, and try your new password. From here, don't use the old one anymore, least the email you opened may have some 'unwanted scripts'
