Igor Pavlov has now released
7-Zip v15.12; from the
v9.20 that was created in early 2009, the FOSS (
Free Open-Source Software ) has gone a long way as an established standard in compression files. The update is available at the main publisher's site, as well at reputable downloading hubs
Sidenotes:
(a) Please do note that some downloading hubs will offer both the 32-bit ( x86 ) and the 64-bit ( x64 ) for Windows users -- make sure what OS variant you have to avoid installation issues, and (b) The main publisher's downloading hub supports all Linux packages, as well as the stand-alone for USB usage -- some downloading hubs may only offer the Windows Installer package
