thanks po sa pagturo :D

palibhasa di ko ginagalaw.

sir oberder, one more question, yun about sa automatic updates, dapat po ba nakaON iyun?

yun windows genuine advantage. hahaha.

 Pag may notification either sa lower sides of the screen ( plus black BG appears ), it's not an original copy! From there, *shakes head* well... that's another story :(

To check if your Activation code is real ( XP / Win7 ) -- click on the Windows logo, click Control Panel ( or click on 'Search Program and Files and type 'Control Panel' ) then go to System, then scroll down to see the Product ID and its status

:geek: In regards to setting to Automatic Updating for other programs -- Best answer: "No/Yes" -- Reason: "No", to condition the user to be more responsible with their gear, shifting to Manual Updating ensures that the user knows what goes into their PC / Laptops, so from here you'll know what are the updates, how big is/are the files, and whether you can make backup copies of them ( if possible ) -- "Yes" is intended for this: the only automatic updates that must be enabled are those for anti-virus ( IMPORTANT! Never set this to manual ), and anti-malware & anti-spyware ( programs like Threatfire fall under this )

Oh, forgot -- try to download program updates from the mother / main sites, not from distribution sites ( as much as possible ) and do check the reputation of such distribution sites -- some are known to embed adware / malware into program updates ( especially when they make you download their 'program updater first' before getting the update -- very bad idea! Stay away from these sites if they offer such )

 Out-of-the-box good ang CCleaner, so no worries na may madadadmay na program, versaga

:geek: But this is where we have some fun ( *maniacal laughter in the background* )

When you have CCleaner installed in your PC / Laptop, most of the settings are good to go -- the default, or 'vanilla' settings are alright for most users -- but there are a few tweaks to make if you want a better working system for you

Click to:

Options - Settings - Secure Deletion
* set this to "Secure File Deletion", then in terms on how secure you want it to erase your data, you can opt for a quick "Simple Overwrite 1 Pass' or the definte yet slow you-will-never-see-it-anymore "Very Complex Overwrite 35 passes" -- your choice here

Options - Advanced --
1) check the "Save all settings to INI file"
2) check the "Only delete files in the TEMP folder older than 24 hrs"
3) check the "Show prompt to backup registry issues

Reason:

1) Every time a new CCleaner update comes, it overlaps all commands bac to default; with this checked, all your custom settings will not be changed
2) WinXP and 7 need these TEMP files, which often disappear everytime the unit ( PC / Laptop ) is tuned off -- so there's no need to clean this
3) When doing a registry clean, this will always prompt you to save to a folder of your choice all the registry entries that are removed from your system; save these REG entries, as they serve as reference if something does go wrong

Click to: Cleaner - Windows

Under Internet Explorer, check all
Under Windows explorer, check all EXCEPT Network passwords ( especially if you have a LAN )
Under System, check all EXCEPT Windows log files, error reporting, start menu & desktop shortcuts
Under Advanced, DON'T CHECK ANYTHING!

Click to: Cleaner - Applications

All options are good to be checked, but try to leave Windows Defender unchecked ( if you have it installed ) since Defender updates are dependent on scan results you make on a periodic rate ( that means, do you use Defender as well in scanning? if yes, then that's good ;) )

Next time, I'll explain how to use the Drive Wiper effectively :D

Worse, di sila nag-clean uninstall ( always remove ALL traces of old programs by using CCleaner, physically checking folders, and running a registry cleaner just in case ) o kaya't di nila nag-defrag ng PC / Laptop nila for the longest time at nag-scascan with antivirus & anti-malware/spyware ( a.k.a. manual system maintainance :geek: )

So try a personal system check:

* Have you defragged your PC / Laptop at least 3x a month?
* Do you run anti-virus / anti-malware every time you go offline / download items?
* Are your programs up-to-date?
* Have you run CCleaner on a constant basis to maintain cleanliness of your gear?
* have you compacted and backup all ( images, video, PDFs, etc ) your files using ZIP/RAR?

Once these are done, there should be a good change in your system performance
