List Of Scams » Post #7

Sun Jun 15, 2014 03:34 in General Talk

Unfortunately making a Thread here wouldn't be a good idea, since it'll be up against the Forum rules; something like this idea is best in a Blog article

Does anyone remember PI* ( *name of site abbreviated, please don't mention the full name of the site ) -- It once started as a blog article, then as the owner started to sign up with other programs, went on to review them as well for both Pros and Cons; from a simple one-page site, it grew into a multi-paged review site with a huge following of both Guests and Members -- PI was one of the few sites to know if something was legit or scam, until it's change of hands late last year ( now, under a new owner, is starting from scratch -- so most of the old data was wiped clean )

Again, making a list here in the ClixSense Forums as a Thread article -- nope, please don't; creating a blog article on the many social networking sites ( Blogger, Wordpress, etc ) maintaining it, and creating a niche -- that can be acceptable**

**just don't go posting your blog address on the Forums, because that can be considered under "self-advertisment"

 For Windows:

Desktop -- on the keyboard, just press the "Print Screen" that could be found on the upper-right side of the keyboard

Laptops -- depending on model type, it will require you to press the Function ( or FN ) key at the same time with the one key that says PRTSC

Now, once that's done -- for both types: press the Windows logo on the keyboard, then type Paint ( alternatively, click on All programs -- then Accessories -- then Paint

Inside Paint, press CTRL+V to copy-paste the screencap; then from there you can use the Select tool ( to select what part of the image you like to focus on ) then click on the Crop ( to remove the excess parts ) * -- once that's editted, CTRL+S to save the image in either JPG/JPEG or PNG

* If you made an error in editing, you can just backtrack a step by pressing CTRL+Z

Once that's saved, you can now upload that screencap picture onto your choice of image host site ( ex: Photobucket, TinyPic )

Clixsense pay for work on forum ? » Post #4

As disappear1 mentioned, visiting the forum at least once counts for the Daily Bonus -- that means just browsing, or visiting a Forum Thread is enough

A member won't be paid for posting -- for that would lead to spamming ( as to what happened to one particular Forum that offered that so long ago, which was then filled with one-word posts and irrelevant Threads -- :!: please don't mention the name of such sites, don't want to get into issues with the Forum Guidelines ;) )

 Head's up -- for both Windows and Mac users:

Adobe has now released new updates for the following products -- AIR is now at v14.0.0.110; Flash Player for IE and Non-IE browsers are now at v14.0.0.125

Google has released Chrome v35.0.1916.153

For Mac OS users -- Mozilla has released Thunderbird at v24.6.0

These updates are available at the publisher's downloading hub, as well as reputable downloading hubs

*Checked with the publisher's downloading hub -- Adobe offers their downloads as well for Linux users; when at the publisher's downloading section, click on the Need Flash Player for a different computer then when redirected, just use the drop-down menus to get your copy for your desired OS

Hey oberder,
Do you have any Conduit toolbar (from ClixSense or any other site) installed on Firefox? I was on FF v29 till morning and everything was fine. Then I noticed Conduit updated all their toolbars earlier today.
In the afternoon I upgraded my FF to v30 and ever since I have a really weird problem. The + button to open a new a tab or the shortcut Control+T (Cmd+T on Mac) to open a new tab will not work.
I thought it might be a bug so I tried searching but no one else reported it. I decided to disable all my add-ons and enable it one by one to see if one of them was causing the problem. Eventually, it was a Conduit toolbar which was causing the New Tab issue. I disabled the toolbar and bingo everything is normal again.

So if you have a Conduit toolbar, please check and let me know if you face a similar issue.

Well, I haven't installed the Conduit add-on to my browser since I manually check for ads while doing work *scratches head* so I didn't know there were issues -- but I did notice that on a fresh start of the updated Firefox that ( once again ) that memory consumption is a tad higher ( blame me, I have add-ons I need for work installed  )

But if you'd like to have the old look ( aka Firefox v28 format ), you can visit the Mozilla Add-ons and get the Classic Theme Restorer ( this was offered to fix the issues of the old v29 which was considered by some users as a headache ;) ) -- the add-on still works on the v30 and is now on v1.2.0

 Reference source -- Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis) :: Add-ons for Firefox

Also, try the little tip from that page:
Quote:It is recommended to switch to a new clean profile (or at least delete 'localstore.rdf' from profile folder) to avoid UI issues after upgrading from Firefox 28 (and older) to Firefox 29 (and newer).
Note: Hitting "Restore Defaults" in customizing mode (Fx29+) is (almost) equal to deleting 'localstore.rdf' and easier to perform
.
