Hottest day ever: 129.2 degrees in Ahvaz, Iran » Post #6

Sat Jul 01, 2017 06:31 in General Talk

When in the Air Force, I was assigned to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on 2 occasions. The first trip was in 1993 around Christmas time. Temps (F) were a mild 100-115 during the day. The second trip was in July 1999 and we got close to the aforementioned temps listed in the subject of this thread. It was flat hot folks.

A Gong button may be effective, but, like others, the intent should be to give all members a chance to participate. Offending people is not a good way to go. Perhaps a remark of constructive criticism would suffice.

Just my opinion,

Unless you are handicapped or living abroad, you should attend the army without any discussion. The period changes however, according to your education level and some sort of other facts. I spent 12 months in army. I have bachelor degree so 3 months discount ( how stupid term it is). Normally, if you are a turkish citizen, and don't have bachelor degree, you have to spend 15 months in army sharp..

Merhaba Kenny34!

I spent 15 months over there in Turkey. Based out of Balikesir, I spent a lot of time in Izmir, Ankara, and Adana. Lovely people and such a historic country. One time this Turkish soldier came up to me and asked me if I had a Marlboro, in perfect NY English accent. He was from NY and had to serve in the Turkish army as well. I was also hitting golf balls on a day off and a bunch of Turkish soldiers came over to see what was up. I got a couple of them to try and hit a golf ball, it was pretty cool. Have a great day.

Hello Clixsensers :)

How many of you served time in your country's military and where did you serve? I served 20+ years in the USAF.

I spent 5 years overseas (for me) in Germany 2 years, Turkey 15 months, South Korea 1 year and Saudi Arabia twice.

Just curious, I consider Veterans everywhere to be Brothers and Sisters. Ask John Mossinkoff, he was a teammate of mine at one of the traffic exchanges and we did something special every Veterans Day. We are all in this together. John served in the Dutch Army as I recall.

Thanks for your input, always good to get to know each other.

any natural remedies for a mosquito repellent? » Post #27

Mon Apr 10, 2017 08:11 in General Talk

Getting back to the original topic, I used to play semi-pro golf in the Southeast Region of the US. Florida, Louisiana, and Texas mainly.

We covered ourselves with Avon's Skin So Soft lotion. Although not created for this purpose, it works really well and it smells good too!

Also, in drier regions we dealt with Deer Flies. At these stops, we sprayed our neck, arms, and legs with Vanilla extract from a spray bottle. It tends to stain your collar but well worth it.

Knock wood, I haven't had a mosquito bite since I was a kid. I am one of those lucky ones they just don't have an appetite for.

what have you spent your clixsense earnings on? » Post #19

I use mine to pay for my annual upgrade as well. I also periodically pay to upgrade my active referrals, got to keep them Happy. Last year was a really good one and I had to claim earnings on my Income Tax Return so I got a few bucks more back. I transfer remaining balances back to my checking account (it was much easier with Paypal. Now I am just saving my balance to get back a check that will also be mailed to my bank.

Traffic Exchanges To Get Referrals » Post #4

Thu Mar 30, 2017 08:25 in General Talk

I have had some success with traffic exchanges, but, not a lot either. I have found that buying a "startpage" increases interest which sometimes equates to referrals. I have more luck with a long timer site, the 2 and 3 second viewing time is as useless as an autosurf.

Good topic Zimzane.

The tell tale signs will be all over your "J" key unless you're a lefty whereby it would be on the "F" key.

Be sure to keep these keys sanitized :D

Remember you can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, but, you can't pick your friend's nose!
