Have you considered carjacking? That seems like a pretty cheap way to get around.

There are many references to dead pigs on the internet.

Pray for Paris and Japan » Post #9

This whole thing has nothing to do with religion. Religion is just an easy way to manipulate people. Whip them up into doing whatever you want. And often, the people doing the whipping don't know they're doing it, because they've been whipped themselves. Missionaries, for example, are a massive pain the arse, and cause huge amounts of damage - but also tend to really nice people with genuinely altruistic intentions.

Now, this violence is justified in the Koran (but don't get all high and mighty - it's justified in the Bible too, and the Poetic Edda, and probably other religious works, but I've only read those three). It's very easy to brainwash people into performing these actions. Again, don't get smug - this is a six hundred billion dollar industry more commonly called "advertising". This influences you just as much, it wins elections - which kill people - and makes you buy things.

The people performing the acts of terror are ignorant and confused. Manipulated. They're fighting a religious war as they see it, but I don't believe for a second that's what their higher ups are fighting. It never is. Being willing to fight and die for something is one thing, being able to rack up a whole army takes stronger motivation.

People who join ISIS are often doing it for survival. we've seen this before - look at Kivu. When a rebel faction moves in, you run, you join, or you die. In Kivu they ran, making it the only African war that got so bad, even the Western media pretended to care for a couple of weeks.

The people leading ISIS. What do they want? I don't know - because the media is censored, and has been since 2001. They want to destroy my way of life, and take away my freedom, apparently - but have done neither of those things as well as my government. It's not ISIS that want to take my way of life away and build a potash mine on it. What do they really want? I mean, in real life, not on TV. What does the end of this war look like if you're a member of ISIS? "Destroying my way of life" isn't a tangible thing, and it's not even a thing that includes ISIS but excludes UK.gov

What does the end of this war look like, for that matter, if you're the West?

What has to happen for either side to wake up one morning and say "That's it, we've won!".

Without answers to these questions, the war cannot end. What does the end of this war look like to us - the majority of the world, those of us who aren't on anybody's side?

Terrorism largely depends on what side of the fight you're on. There's a very fine line between terrorist and freedom fighter, military and paramilitary. ISIS might be smelly and evil, but what about the Rwandan soliders working with the UN who eat children? What about the Western members of the UN who gang rape entire villages, then smuggle gold for personal gain? Isn't that terrorism?

Is ISIS blowing up a tower really any different to the UK and US - and more recently, Russia - blowing up a hospital?

I'm no ISIS sympathiser, but I struggle to agree with anyone who thinks greed is good, or violence the answer, even if they're purportedly doing it in my name.

So yes, ignorance and confusion. Ignorance of what anyone actually wants from this conflict - because nobody will tell anyone what they actually want, and even if they did, nobody would report it. Confusion because everybody involved is playing a deadly power game, and nothing is quite what it seems.

I don't know what the answer is, and I never will until somebody from each side sits down and talks to me.

It's just the silly little ego stroking and personality politics of everyday life, blown up to global proportions. Our species is not my favourite.

Quote:I see you've never been handicapped with great intelligence. For 17 centuries I was trapped in the shadow dimensions because of him. He pulled bones from the dessert sands and carved them into chess pieces. He challenged me to solve his puzzle. I failed. Now I shall see him kneel before me... before I let him die.

Quote:I once spoke to a human geneticist who declared that the notion of intelligence was quite meaningless, so I tried calling him unintelligent. He was annoyed, and it did not appease him when I went on to ask how he came to attach such a clear meaning to the notion of lack of intelligence. We never spoke again.

Quote:I think he has a little bit of a nerve to blame the press instead of putting the blame on the brutal acts which some of them commit in the name of their God.

For fear of dragging the thread off topic...

They want to divide us. They want to turn us against each other, and if not cause a civil war, at least cause civil unrest. This is how all guerilla wars are fought. We can't let that happen. We must stand solid together, and that solidarity must include normal, every day Muslims, who are just regular people like you and I. The minute we start throwing rocks at each other is the minute ISIS win. The only way to honour the people to have died in this war so far is to rebuild bridges between our communities, and stand as one.

Well, colour me surprised.

I personally upgraded as Clixsense began shifting towards the tasks and offers. I thought the increase in ads was more related to the change in direction than the upgrade. I didn't think anyone actually used the premium filter.

Quote:There are many doors to goodness. (Saying) ‘glory to God,’ ‘praise be to God,’ ‘there is no deity but God,’ enjoining good, forbidding evil, removing harm from the road, listening to the deaf (until you understand them), leading the blind, guiding one to the object of his need, hurrying with the strength of one’s legs to one in sorrow who is asking for help, and supporting the weak with the strength of one’s arms – all of these are (forms of) charity prescribed for you.

W3C reckon it's okay, as long as you only flash three times a second or less. This was in consultation with relevant medical professionals. However, W3C groups are, generally speaking, a bunch of dicks. It's a cess pit of self-interest, mental masturbation, and ego feeding, so you may or may not want to take them very seriously.

(And full disclosure, the W3C group relevant to my industry hates me as much as I hate them).
