Ah yes, the I had Chip's Challenge on the Atari Lynx and the Amstrad CPC.

I've got an Atari Lynx 2 in a cupboard, but it's broken. I can probably fix it, but I never get round to buying a multimetre, so I'm not even entirely sure what's wrong with it.

Still KoL. Today, I bought a Grimstone mask. Equipping it allowed me to take the role of the wicked step mother at dinner party with Cinderella. My task? To be as wicked as I could to her. I put a cigar in her purse, and threw soap under her feet while she danced, and brushed her skin with a flower she is allergic to, bringing her out in hives, started a malicious rumour about her kleptomania, and then the bell struck midnight and my time was up.

I didn't do enough to be the wickedest step-mother, but I was the third wickedest step-mother of the day, and got two polo trophies for it.

I'm using FF 39, and it works for me.

Firefox has indeed gone out of it's way to make it's browser completely unusable, but it hasn't broken the addon.

There are quite a few people with broken addons recently, so something is wrong somewhere, but since it works for some and doesn't for others, it must be some particular configuration. Though, I don't know what to suggest other than to look in the logs.

I like the vowels. Vowels are awesome. You can barely speak without vowels, and Clixsense has them on every single page!

That's only one side of the fraud. There's also nastiness on the side of the providers - they'll have nasty tricks like only paying for X purchases, and hiding it in the small print. You local corner shop doesn't find out until it's sold twice as many and finds itself in serious debt.

These are issues that are technically legal, and don't get legislated against until the practice is more widespread - a chicken and egg problem.

Coupons are a thing, but they're rare - for the reasons hyldig states. Shopkeepers hate them, and will avoid taking them if they can. You do get coupons with supermarket reward cards and such, but cutting them out of papers and magazines? Not so much.

Well, I say not so much, you do see people cut them out, you'll even see people pin them to their kitchen notice board, but I've never seen anyone actually use one since...probably the 90's.

It would be an edge case in the Clixesense privacy policy and strictly against the market research code of conduct for either party to have any idea what you've given to the other. Since the MRS code of conduct comes largely from European law, that's probably the same for you too.

Well, I have a dual sim, so I do give them my number, they just get the disposable one, not the good one.

They've been good so far though - I've had exactly one phone call, it was for the reasons they said they wanted my phone number (product sample sent by snail mail, survey completed over the phone).

Despite them being perfectly good so far, I still wouldn't give them a non-disposable phone number.

No!

There were rumours, and everybody ignored them because they were obviously stupid. Then Braben wrote the strategy guide, and at the end he told you that if you rose to the top of both armies, became elite, and travelled to the edge of the galaxy, there's a thargoid ship to be had.

"edge of the galaxy" kept folk going for years - but he was trolling us.

There is the Mirage, which is a Thargoid ship, but it doesn't fly, and you can't own one.

Oh bloody hell, you know how many years I spent looking for that Thargoid ship? I didn't even believe it until Braben put it in his book....
