That's kinda the point.

I don't think you just have to be a programmer, I think you had to be part of hacker culture in the 80's.

It's a cultural thing.

It's about being given something and told to figure out how it works. Most people hunt the verb. Some people reverse engineer a black box.

Call me a prophet.

(Okay, so it wasn't a win, but I'll take it).

It was known as ADVENT when I was growing up (because that was the file name). Wikipedia says it's really called Collosal Cave Adventure.

No, I meant good threads, not dull, repetitive ones.

Why can't the good threads go on this long?

Love is a chemically induced state invented by evolution by means of natural selection because humans are entirely incapable of forming a symbiotic relationship with another living creature without first being drugged.

Incidentally, best commentator ever = Laurent Fignon. He only commentated in French though, and has the unfortunate affliction of being dead these days.

The commentary is pretty awful. Boardman could be good, but bites his tongue way too much.

I don't think Phil Ligget is much good, but I like him anyway, he's like the pet monkey you never had. I'm especially enjoying how Jens Voigt, whose name Phil mispronounced for years, and claimed spoke in an Australian accent is now sitting in the commentary box with a thick German accent right alongside him. It's nothing to do with me, but I approve of his fan page

And also, more Dave Millar, please.

I would note that only Nibali has lost time on strength alone. The others lost time in race incidents.

Quintana is still four minutes closer than he would be with two flat ITTs (see 2013, where he lost over 3 minutes in the flat ITT, and one in the ITT with two climbs)

What kind of ClixSenser are you? » Post #6

Mostly 1, occasionally 3.

I normally save up for things, but it's not quite as clear cut as that, because I often save for things that don't cost much. I might want a new mouse one week, or a sack of cat food the next, in which case I'll cash out every week. Other times, I'll save for something bigger - Clixsense has paid for my laptop, phone and solar panels in the last twelve months, along with a bunch of camping gear. But generally, the money is spoken for before it has been earned.

Occasionally - like today - it becomes "whenever I need it" as some idiot empties his bank account earlier in the day, and then remembers he has to make an online payment before midnight with a now empty bank account...

This is my 30th Tour. 1991-1995 were the best. Also, last year was the best, because it spent two days not just in my country, but in my very wapentake.

Is Perrig Quéméneur a misanthropist, who simply can't bear to be close to other people? Has he ever been spotted in the wild in a group of more than four riders?

I still have a blind faith that Cyril Gautier will win. He doesn't seem to be very aggressive this year though. Not sure why - he looked like he'd progress into the next Tommy V for his first few years.

Tejay van Garderen looked pretty good in the Dauphine, and he's looking better at the Tour...he could surprise everyone, but I think he'll try to follow Quintana one day and crack. I think there's a fifth competitor for the podium though.

Quintana will take it though. In the TTT, he was the only GC rider with a bit of calm - which suggests he's comfortable with the time he has to make up in the mountains. He's two minutes back, but every opportunity to put time into him has gone now.
