Quote:There is no silver bullet and frankly you probably don’t need one. It is far more important to be able to find the right kind of gun, be able to load the gun...and perhaps most importantly, be able to figure out where the werewolf is.

Question regarding web traffic » Post #6

Sun Jul 12, 2015 04:09 in General Talk

Frankly, it is.

Every website on the internet has 400,000 banners per 300 words of text. Nobody is looking at your ad.

You need a) serious bulk or b) high quality websites with low ads/page.

B) is easiest, but tends to involve creating your own website.

What you're describing is a ponzi scheme. Everybody was already bored of internet Ponzi schemes by the 90's.

Your upgrade is actually useful. Sell the interesting bit, not the bit that's mathematically correct, but just does not happen in this particular universe.

Pfft, it doesn't matter how good they look, modern games are all fur coats and no knickers.

This is what proper games look like:

Quote:May I suggest you try to keep the language alive somehow?

We already have a Dialect Society.

Somebody also started a list of dialect words from Old Norse, but it's nowhere near complete.

It's a panama, two flat caps, and a fez.

It's surprisingly difficult to balance a fez on a flat cap.

Where I come from we speak a language that's half English, half Old-Norse. Technically, it's a dialect, but it's different enough from standard English that I have to consciously switch when I'm talking to somebody from a different part of the UK.

Sadly, it's dying out, and the bigger the cities get, the weaker the dialect gets, but there's still a little bit of Denmark everywhere, thanks to those Vikings.

I recommend "outside".

It's way better than illuminated glass screen.

Once you've crossloaded flash and have it on your device, it will magically start working in Firefox too, which doesn't crash on login.

DHMO isn't a Penn and Teller thing from 9 years ago, it's a Durand Express thing from 1983.

"If you go out of your way to mislead people, they will be misled" wasn't really a groundbreaking discovery even back then, though.

There's a weird icon thingy at the top of each forum page. You want the one that I don't know what it is, to the left of the one that looks like a magnifying glass.
