Once in a blue moon - it is happening! » Post #25

valerie wrote: The moon is very bright but it does give off a bit of a blue glow. Kind of like a bright light bulb under a light blue lampshade.

Well to be honest I think all the news was hype - skies were clear and I saw it last night, I feel scammed  What you see in the news, is a gigantic moon, so they give you the impression you will see a much bigger than usual moon because it is closer to earth, well to be honest I don't see much big of a difference between any other full moon. It might have looked maybe 2-3mm bigger at most, not something most people will notice. It was bright yes, very, like a very strong LED light bulb, it was shining down and illuminating trees in otherwise dark areas, and this light is actually the sun's reflection - not the actual moon's own light, just like the moon is not made of cheese nor is it blue :P

The colour was white, again not at all like the photos we see in the news that are probably just rigged. It was pure bright white, slightly bigger, and full, that's it, as far as the blue, well maybe some areas of the planet might see it slightly blue due to the fine particles scattering away the red light component - wasn't the case here. What the news media is doing is taking the photos using telescopes, and posting those, oh and shockingly, no odd events during that full moon, I just looked at the moon for a while and went meh, and went to bed, can't believe this was major news  I was not bloody impressed - in fact I have seen much bigger moons before, some with yellowish / reddish hues.

So you saw a blue tinge in KY, that might be a bad sign for 2024's elections

Don't underestimate the powers of crooked magicians...........

He wasn't trying to fool me. He assumed I knew he was a he but I didn't know he was a he and I thought he was a she so I communicated with him like he was a she.

I did reply back and said I thought you were a she but now I see you are a he. He replied and said he thought I knew he was a he and not a she.

Whew!

   This had me confused - try reading this aloud :P

Question is now, why the hell did he pretend to be a she, I mean people lie about their age, but why lie about gender online - well there might be reasons, though not the good ones.

So he, masking as a she thought you knew she was a he.......that sounds like a BS excuse to me

Christ people are the Jews.

It's strange though - because Christ is NOT part of Jewish theology, where Christians accept Jesus as their Messiah.
Also the Holocaust example you give is not the same - if a person is killed against their will or in tragic accidents, etc, I'm sure there is an exception to that and their resurrection would not be compromised, be it burning, drowning, etc, it's NOT the same as intentional methods. Cremation is something people ask for, now if you are cremated against your will, that would probably be different as well - that's the same as a person dying in an accident vs. committing suicide (own harm).
Are there so many ambiguities in the scripture ? Because humans are killing on a daily basis, the entire world runs on killing. Maybe we get a free pass if killing is not intentional - as I'm sure you won't get judged for killing the 10,000 insects on the sidewalk every day.

Quote:
There is all kinds of things that destroy the human body. Drowning and not being recovered (The Titanic). Being eaten by a reptile or lion or tiger or wolf or something else.

This massive destruction of the body in accidents or vicious crimes, some claim that they go right away to heaven, some claim they are given a new body and come back. Now scriptures can be ambiguous - when the passage says everywhere will rise from the dead - maybe it is not meant literally - maybe this is symbolic, and COULD mean that your soul will be placed into a new body and you will be born (could it suggest reincarnation ?) IF SO, then it does not matter how a person dies, the soul doesn't. If nothing in the Bible seems to support reincarnation, then the passage about being resurrected is similar. Now maybe he meant not physical bodies.....there are so many ways to interpret passages.

Quote:
I don't think Christ would deny someone from entering heaven just because they were cremated or eaten or drowned, etc. The Book does not say the dead shall rise from being buried. It says the dead shall rise.

SO not physically then - but yet there are hints that it would be so - If you need to be risen for judgment, then why would you need a body - so could it mean the soul will rise to be judged, and not the actual you cracking open your crypt and rising from your tomb :P and then dancing to the Thriller song (gotta remember that choreography) :D

Quote:
As far as I know, Bob was not placed in a box of any kind when he was cremated. There was no service. Some people want a service and they will have the departed in a casket and then the body is removed from the casket for cremation. Some people pay for the casket and the body is cremated inside the casket.

I thought that the box itself is part of the cremation process, they must first put the body inside a combustible container first , it's part of the steps to prepare the body for cremation - They don't just slide dead bodies on a conveyor belt and straight to the oven - You can choose different caskets for cremation or the standard cardboard box. I think this process is done mainly for handling purposes - it shelters the body and protects it, and makes it easier for the staff to handle a dead person with dignity  Not so sure workers doing this as a job would want to handle the bodies directly though, though some people are natural and have no problems working with the dead - they probably more skills working with the dead than they did people who were alive ! So those who do not have people skills in their CV can still get a job........

Quote:
Bob had pins in one leg and in his jaw.

I'm not sure even the biggest fan of Bob Barker knows so much about him.

Quote:
I'm very sure a dead body feels nothing after it is dead. Hearing is the last thing to go. The brain may function briefly during the dying process.....this is not proven but some say it is a strong possibility and may be the reason that some people with near death experiences can relay some happenings while in a dead state.

YEAH but it does not explain how can people mention with 100% accuracy what was going on visually and in other rooms as if they were floating above and watching. True that at death the body itself might not feel pain, it might for a few seconds as your brain may still process pain, BUT can the soul feel something ? Torment, regret, sadness, it's possible, and I do think so - what people refer to as ghosts, are souls that refuse to accept they are dead and "hang around".

Quote:
Bob wasn't supposed to die. The surgeons said he would not die. I think he had a strong notion that he would die. They had him in an induced coma after surgery. He never spoke again. I told him to blink for yes and move his head from side to side for no. I told him 'you are going to be alright' and he moved his head from side to side.

That's quite sad actually - yes somehow it appears humans have a death instinct - it appears that people can FEEL and KNOW they are dying - theories exists that the soul partially detaches or that there are paranormal events that occur before death where people are in advanced states and they can FEEL their last moments - this is proven though. Your senses are all heightened in the moments before your death. As far as the surgeons that told you he would not die, yeah, you can't trust what any of them say, especially if they know they did something wrong. This is the thing with surgeries, the biggest risk is not the surgery itself but the harsh POISONS they inject into you to put you under, some people wake up and breath on their own, others unfortunately do not- but many times complications arise from negligence in my opinion.

Quote:
I did and according to the nurses, thought he was doing better and they removed his tubes. Within just hours they had to put them back in.

By the time the body is placed in the ground or in a cremation state, there is no doubt the body is dead.

Yep, Bob would have laughed.

No doubt the body itself is dead - not all brain cells are completely dead though - you are unconscious BUT you could be aware to some extent the same way you can be aware in a dream state despite being unconscious when you sleep. I'm pretty sure the soul is still somehow partially attached and may remain close to the dead body for a while, maybe days.

I watch the old The Price is Right. It places 24-7. I often turn it on in the mornings. It's fun to watch the old shows.

I remember Bob in an interview once stated that he does not like the direction of the show now (kinda his way of saying he does not like what Drew did to the show) - but in the end he made a remark saying he is certainly not gonna bash the show now, as he earns a sizable royalty - Sure, syndicated shows, they earn money for life as long as the show/reruns are broadcast - not bad for doing nothing. I wonder if Bob's estate will continue earning his royalties from TPIR, or if it is not transferable.

Quote:
They scream with glee when they win a hundred bucks. Brand new cars at 6,000 bucks. The home decor, appliances, et brings memories and so funny.

LOL !!! cars at $6k yeah times have changed, and a hundred bucks yeah that was a big deal I bet, today if you give someone $100, it's like giving them a quarter :D

In those days you could buy a decent house for $50k, the SAME house that has aged today, sells for $700k here, and requires an extra $150k renovations. Well what to expect, public run companies, they have to make more profits each year, how are people going to earn positive returns from the stock market, the problem is GREED - the way prices are increasing is CRIMINAL - the population is being scammed and robbed blind - and it happens all the time when a Democrat is in power - I mean didn't people learn a ********* thing with Obama's 2 disastrous terms ? :P

Quote:
You know what, it is rare to see a fat person on there.

Mainly he did a lot for animal rights.

Well yeah people were more healthy - smartphones did not exist, well if you wanted to buy a mobile, it would cost you $10k+, TODAY, you can buy one at the dollarama  People have changed - people used to GO OUT, manual labour, TODAY, they stay home in front of their computer, smartphones, SOCIAL MEDIA, and today's generation of SUPER SIZED ME - why eat ONE patty, when you can now have 6 patties in a burger. Why eat a traditional pizza when you have stuffings on your pizza AND inside the crust itself...........no wonder 2/3 of the North American population are way overweight.

As far as Bob Barker, was he an animal activist at the time he started to host ? I don't think so - I think the first prize he gave was a fur coat :D You will notice eventually not a single fur coat was given, he made it clear he did not want that kind of prize given on the show or prizes that come from exploitation of animals - He had a lot of power I guess, he was made an executive producer early on. I wonder if Drew will have the decency to continue the famous "have your pets spayed or neutered."

So many animal rights activists out there, it's a shame there is not as much natural resource activists too - look at how many trees are being killed, look at all the plants being killed (vegans, take note :D) wherever you go, human survival depends on killing, if it is not animal, it is plants - Now here is the tricky part - God's commandment of Thou Shall Not Kill, were there exceptions ? In the Bible there is reference to eating animals, so you obviously have to kill them first, so did God himself condone killing - Animals are not always killed the proper way, and suffer pain, OR is it that God put those animals for our consumption as well as all the plants, etc. EVERYTHING we eat is sourced from the nature, I definitely agree with Bob Barker's getting your pets spayed or neutered, it is too bad nobody can do anything about the rats - rats are taking over some cities' populations :D In New York for example there are more rats than actual people, who's gonna spay and neuter them :D can we spay and neuter our politicians too ? :P

Well now I'm sure Bob is resting in heaven (maybe?), playing Golf, Happy Gilmore style :P

Right, it would be more like Lumber cake  But why does it say Vintage 1960 fruitcake on eBay, are they selling only the tin box without the fruit cake - yeah I bet, eBay being what it is OR maybe they are selling the actual unopened fruitcake - you can bet all your money that someone out there will spend $25 on that. There is this guy who has a YouTube channel who buys vintage stuff, and very VERY old unopened cans of foods, sealed rations, army food etc, and opens them on his stream and tastes them I forget what the channel name is, but I have watched some of his videos, he sure has some balls to do that - I'll send him a suggestion to do that with the "vintage fruitcakes" :P

There is no way FruitCake can last that long with all the sugar and moisture, it would not last, it would be more like mould cake !

In case anybody has missed the news, legendary game show host Bob Barker, host of the famous "The Price Is Right" has passed away at the age of 99, in his home, of apparently natural causes.

Was hoping he would break 100........It is him that made the game show a raving success, and it is sad that his replacement is real bad and fake - He was a military pilot, radio talk show host, game show host, he had quite the career and fame - He would always turn an awkward moment into comedy on the show, much like Steve Harvey today with Family Feud, another talk show legend.

So rest in peace Bob Barker, he has lived quite the life, doing stuff he loved, working his entire life at a job he loved to do and getting paid big money for it - Not something that is common today :D

He died peacefully in his own home, the best place to die IMO. People who stay home live longer.

I hope the new producers of the price is right will have the decency to do a special episode in his memory even though they and Drew did not agree on some stuff. I heard they are moving to another studio due to heavy renovations to the one they are in, named after Bob himself.

valerie wrote: Yeah but who likes sending their loved one 6 feet under enclosed in a box down in the ground.

So is it any better to send your loved ones inside an oven to burn, so basically you are sending them to hell ? Sending them 6 feet down the ground they will rest in peace - their flesh will decompose and be eaten by worms, their bones will remain, and one day they will be brought back and risen from the dead as it says in the Bible. NOW I dunno how that would work out with cremation when your remains are ground into fine powder. There is a theory that when a person dies, their soul does not leave the body quite yet, that it hangs around the body for some time, sometimes longer than others. SO imagine sending a dead body inside that oven of flames, so you are sending a loved one to hell before they even got judged  I do not think it is more pleasant to send someone to burn in fire, I believe cremation is mainly a financial thing. Some people would rather be eaten by worms than burn in fire. Decomposition is a natural process....... BURNING someone to fire is not. In my opinion, if a person who's loved one(s) die, has the means to pay for a traditional burial, they should go with that, I mean it does not have to be an expensive burial, just the basic, some people have more money than they will EVER need, especially if someone inherits from the deceased one, unless of course that loved one made it clear of their wishes, that they want to be cremated. I do not see any benefit for cremation other than a financial one. and for some who say it's more environmental - WELL, those fire ovens do run on gas and they produce a lot of emissions - so yeah - it's highly debatable.

Quote:
Bob and I both decided we did not want a service and want cremation. When he died, I went by his wishes. I had his body cremated, then I spread his ashes in the areas he wanted them spread. Also, some of the ashes went to his granddaughter and......yeah, I have a couple of jars of him.

Couple of jars ???? I was under the impression that when they grind the bones only a handful of powder is left. I don't know if cremation works differently in the states, but here it is against the law to spread ashes, I'm not 100% sure on the law, or if you need a permit, but you are also not allowed to keep an urn....... BTW I have always wondered, why do they have to place the body inside a wooden box first, and not place the body directly - wouldn't it be much faster to burn the body directly ? That wooden box adds more time to the process and more torment to the soul.

Quote:
I gotta tell you that Bob always hated box's.

Well then I'm sure he wasn't happy on the day of his cremation - because they use boxes too even for cremation, they put the body n a big wooden box first.

Quote:
I would order things and he would be the one to break down the box for the trash. Before you ask, no recycle in that rural area. He would complain box's box's box's. When I went to the funeral home to pick up his ashes, yep, they were in a box. In a bag tied like it was some kind of special treat and then sealed in a small square box. I grabbed the box and practically ran out the door. I sat the box on the passenger seat of my car. As I drove away I looked at the box and I said 'how you like that! you got yourself in a dam box!'. A few days later when I did open the box, I opened the bag and placed some of the ashes in little canning jars. I looked at the jars after I finished and said 'now you've got yourself in a pickle!'.

Wow, still had a sense of humour even after the death of a loved one, amazing indeed. So I'm assuming he was placed in a box, because you did not choose an urn - usually ashes are placed in urns of your choosing, they can be different shapes, vase, square, triangle, round, etc. so you placed him in a box did you, smh, I'm sure he forgave you, it's all water under the bridge - THEN you placed him in pickle jars ??? Poor soul, so much torment, first the burn, then in a box, then in a jar, I cannot imagine anything worse :D

Quote:
I keep meaning to put the ashes in some kind of an urn. Then I decided I would put the ashes in the ground and plant a tree. Then I decided I would take them to Florida and toss to the ocean. Then I decided it would be best to put the ashes in the ground where he grew up in WV. Now I decided I would simply keep the ashes in the jars and some day I might finally decide to do something with them.

Yes, I know it's dumb.

Keeping them sounds better IMO, and avoid Florida, the crazy state - what, you want him to be eaten by sharks too ?

There are new scientific revelations - Now this is science not assumptions - When a person dies, the process is progressive, a person is not entirely dead - I mean yeah their body drops and they become unconscious, BUT, all cells in body do not die instantly - in fact, some cells can survive from HOURS to DAYS even - brain cells can survive hours, even though after 4 minuets generally, damage starts, SO a person who is dead might still be "AWARE" they are dead. it sounds scary and all, it is much the same process as a lucid dreamer being AWARE they are sleeping and reaming YET they are still unconscious. After a person dies, they may still continue to be able to hear, and have some form of consciousness left (being aware, feeling emotion) etc. Can souls feel emotions, well it is definitely possible, if they can be tormented and hang around and refuse to move on, the yes - SO I do believe the soul is aware for quite some time of what is being done to their body - they may not feel pain anymore, but they may feel tormented, sad, etc, not at peace to move on. Science has indeed proven the survival of cells after the time of death, however it cannot prove the rest, so if those brain cells survive far longer than expected, it means there could continue to be functions, but not enough to be shown electrically in a monitor.

So let's hope Bob had a good sense of humour too - You may find out sooner or later, though I'm sure later, as you are still technically young by today's standards

I remember in CS days when the forum was very active - there were incidents were some female members would get harassed by users, I don't know if you remember, one of those females was married and was harassed by a male flirting with her, asking her to meet, etc. I don't remember the exact details, but she became scared and stopped posting, husband found out, or some crap - she made her story public about that - now today in 2023 imagine adding gender symbols, people's PMs would be flooded even more, and besides, a lot of people lie about their gender, age, etc.

Even in real life you dunno which is which anymore - you can marry someone and 40 years later after a drunken party, they admit to you that they are a different gender - so a husband might one day get the shocking news that what he thought was his wife, is actually another man....now that is a show stopper right there  Now how do you deal with stuff like that ? Once upon a time you were either male or female, today it is impossible to have symbols, today it is no longer male or female, you have at least 500 other genders and pronouns, it's become really crazy - yeah it started with people wanting to just change gender, today it is more complex, you can be half male half female, 2/3 female 1/3 male, you can be THEY, you can be IT and God help you if you "misgender" someone, it is a felon

SO a solution to this, if you meet ANYBODY, be it online or in real life, before getting involved with them, emotionally or physically, request their official birth certificate, ask for a DNA study and do a background check (some people change genders and identity to escape their criminal history).

Quote:
I mentioned some years ago here how I communicated in emails for a very long time with someone that was a member in some of my programs. I thought she was a female. Turns out, she was a he. There I was for a very long time communicating with a man just like I would with a woman.

You know i'm gonna ask - How the heck did you find out it was a man ? Did he just one day admit it to you ?

Hi How are you Yes Are you available

I get many of those incoherent texts, and the odd ones asking for money, there were a few odd PMs I got I had to report, watch out there are members here or were members, who have other members personal info - One of those PMs I got was from someone who addressed me by my real name, and said "Hey (name) I have something to tell you......." and then he wrote " Yes, (my password)" he actually mentioned an OLD password I used, so this guy obviously had access to the stolen data from ClixSense or other sites. So yeah there are criminals on this site, more than one, I reported that member and they were banned, I suspect there are others too with this stolen data, 1 of them I know 100% for sure is still here, though I am pretty sure she/he/it/ is not using it maliciously. One thing and this applies to anybody, NEVER give your personal info in a PM or details about your age, date of birth, where you work, where you live, etc. can't trust anybody nowadays.

Maybe because you have a female name that you are receiving those PMs

NOW, India's next step according to an article, is that they will send a satellite to explore the sun - well obviously they cannot land on the sun, but they will study it / explore it from a distance.

So India might be the ones to build the Arks then, and this time, an override button to start engines if there is a failing door

Yes that is a clip from the 2012 movie, the ending, at least it looks like it......there was a scene before that (not shown in this video) where the 2 kids make it and jump and the father tries jumping but dies, Karma I guess, because that father was helped by another man, and he was betrayed somewhere and left there (guy was Russian anyway go figure) :P

I say China because I recall in the movie, it is China that has built those Arks.

As far as technology to allow us to live on other planets, very unlikely, I mean when you consider developed countries being in high debt, inflation, the costs would be colossal - there is no way this will be possible, some top economy countries like the US have seen their credit rating drop twice - it would be impossible and costly, and EVEN IF they did manage to, it would be limited to only a few humans, and the filthy rich at that. I do not think the moon would be a right choice to live on - and given the extreme temperatures on planets, it would be impossible for humans to live there without continually wearing suits and that's not too comfortable :D Instead of trying to find another planet to live on and destroy, why not focus all the money and resources in trying to save whatever is left of this turd, instead of destroying it further.

IF humans did manage to go live on another plane, it won't take long before it gets destroyed along with life on it, I mean look at what happened to Mars - it used to be populated, until some wars destroyed all the living on it....so what are we gonna do keep moving from planet to planet.

Unless they manage to build a massive enclosed floating city in space, where people can live, grow food, etc. AGAIN, we are talking about colossal costs and even if you combine ALL the wealthy people on the planet, it would not cover even a fraction % of the total costs.

They would have to print unlimited money for that, not even Joe Biden could pull this off :P

Ohhhh you like my posttttt ohhhh goodie goodie gum drop!

Notice how most do not have a dislike option.

People like controversy - NOW imagine if ALL forums and social media had a dislike button - it would be not be a good thing, because it adds an extra bias - I think MORE people would misuse the DISLIKE button than they would the LIKE button. For example, a member here does not like another member, one member said something that struck a nerve, so that other member might use the DISLIKE on each and every other topics and posts as a revenge, where they are disliking the member and not the post.......I do think most people use the like button appropriately. If you LIKE a post it means you agree and share those views, if you don't, then you do nothing. Some people like the post but do nothing, so yeah in a way it is good that there is no dislike button on a discussion forum, it would be badly misused.

I do not think the likes used here are childish, and for most of us here who are vocal and not afraid to share opinion, it would not make a difference whether the post is liked or not, could care less, some people say what they want to say regardless - HOWEVER, one thing that this forum used in the past was the reputation system, now THAT can be misused big time, which is why Jim removed the rep score back in the days - you can still add or remove rep for a user, but you can no longer see their count nor the reps left by other members :D

Another good use of the like button here - or anywhere - let's say you are not one of those that like to post, but you want to show your solidarity and agreement - so some people instead of replying, they will simply like............. So the LIKE serves a good purpose.

I still see A LOT of forums use the reputation system - On YouTube you still have the like and dislike buttons for the comments section

Firstly, hospitals, nursing homes, and all that is extremely expensive. You've gotta have some pretty good insurance and even if you do, your family will most likely be left with some bills to pay out of whatever estate you leave them.

In some states those nursing homes can cost as much as $8k-$15k A MONTH !!! That's crazy considering the horrible care you get in these homes, less than prison food, abuse, etc, no wonder some seniors decide to stay in their own home and get home care, hopefully by one of their family members or other - but people who are alone find it more difficult and are confined to those nursing homes (what I call slaughter homes).

Secondly, speaking of estate, some States charge a death tax. Yep, they call it estate tax but I call it a death tax. You get tax'd even after you are dead.

I bet you it is the Democratic party that came up with that tax, is it ? It's absolutely absurd - you would think the dead already pays enough expenses, and all these services ARE taxable, so if you are charged a death tax on top of that, that's being double taxed ........

Thirdly, funeral and burial expense is very expensive. If you want a funeral service, it can be very costly. More and more people today are electing to NOT have a service.

Those services are the biggest scams - and for what, you get a bunch of hypocrites showing up saying all nice things about you, shedding crocodile tears, people that didn't give two shits about you when you were alive and only now care, then you have people laughing, joking, etc, yeah those services are not needed, and even less, the receptions or the food in some cultures they have a tradition to go out and feast after the burial along with friends and family, and guess who has to pay - so sometimes you wonder if people show up for the food  It's absolutely disgusting, the last thing I would want is to head straight to eat after seeing a loved one being dumped down to the worms in the ground.

and funeral homes pushing very expensive coffins, WHY ? Does it really matter if someone's dead corpse is placed inside a $5000 box vs. the cheapest one ? Is it paying respects to a dead corpse if you spend all that money ? When the dead person is not going to care much anyway where or how they are buried - if you cared so much about someone, now is not the time - it is when they were alive that you were to show your respect, not when they are dead, and unconscious - so yeah those mobsters and criminals for the most part running this greedy industry, they prey on the vulnerable state of grieving loved ones who would gladly spend $5k on a box for a dead corpse - a box that will be buried deep underground anyway - it's a WASTE of natural resources.

Then you have the hypocrisy - you see people show up and want to "PAY THEIR RESPECT" and buy expensive flowers, etc, oh so were were you the past 40 years to "pay your respect", now I am giving examples, it's funny how some people don't give a shit about you when you are alive, but suddenly care when you are dead in your crypt - bunch of bloody hypocrites - and it does not have to cost that much .....it's just GREED - the markup and profit margins are MASSIVE.

I wonder how much a morgue workers get paid - it must be one of the best jobs to have, quiet, peaceful, you don't have to deal with annoying colleagues, you only deal with dead people, and they are most of the time quiet

burial is very expensive. Casket, vault, and so on. More and more people are going for cremation.

Not by much choice, they do it strictly for financial reasons - who likes the thought of sending their loved ones inside a big oven of fire - it's like you are sending them straight to hell (some perceive it that way). I've actually seen the whole process of cremation in a documentary, and I must say it is so damn depressing - To work there you must have nerves of steel and cold blood, I hope they are paid well.

So, you can't even die for free these days.

Well technically you can - I'm not an expert of the industry, but what if someone dies, and they do not have a surviving family member, a will, etc, they won't just throw the body in the garbage - the State pays for it, as they do for people on welfare or who cannot afford it - it's just that they won't be buried in $5k coffins - they will get cremated, only the rich and corrupt politicians get a State paid proper burial :P
