and cyber january when people get their CC statements and discover that in the end they spent more money than they should have, and return the stuff :D

The whole black / cyber days are marketing gimmicks - because people end up buying stuff they normally would NOT have bought in the first place, or stuff they do not NEED. For some, it's a great deal of course, your old door stopper snapped, and you need a new one, at 50% discount or grandma's vibrator fell and on the fritz, buy her a new one at 70% off............ or you have an old telly and want to upgrade to 4k, there are great deals .....

I saved at least $100 - I renewed my malwarebytes premium at 70% discount, and I purchased a bitdefender AV license at 70% off.

Well you are a nurse, now imagine the rope, what is the typical diameter of a rope vs. the diameter of the urethra (what you refer to as a pee hole  ) now imagine a kidney stone a fraction of the size of that rope going through said hole, you hear people comparing it to pissing razor blades - SO........ I cannot imagine for the F*** of me, a ROPE going down that hole, it's so PAINFUL to even think about it - HOW could that guy possibly do such a thing, and all 90 inches of it......... That must be a good story to tell his lady friends on a first date, very cool indeed  Even more disturbing, how to get that rope OUT of the bladder, not an easy job - because of how a bladder contracts, the rope was all tangled inside - so yeah as a surgeon, I can imagine the stories they told their family back home, "Hey honey, you will never guess what happened at work, I removed a 90 inch rope from some guy's bladder"

and the guy who wanted to measure the size of his willy, could not use a measuring tape, nope, he had to use a USB cable and shove it in there too

SO for all you daring lot out there who want to break records, you will know that the record to beat is 90 inches

Old squidgames actor accused of sexual assault! » Post #3

Mon Nov 28, 2022 07:41 in General Talk

Yeah there will always be frivulous lawsuits, but many of those sex abuse claims are true - I mean why him ? why aren't ALL rich people being sued ? He was not the ONLY actor on squid games, I'm pretty sure the whole regular cast made good money - if anything they would have sued someone more likely to be a sex abuser - I mean who would imagine a 78 year old geezer to be an alleged abuser anyway - the suit claims he "touched" someone inappropriately - so they picked the least likely of all the crew ? Who knows........ Yeah but true, some lawsuits are frauds, that's why guys have to be careful nowadays - you cannot be too friendly, it don't take much to get "tagged" :P

In any case hopefully it won't change anything for SquidGames 2, since he dead, well his character anyway :D

But nobody wants to remember the most likeable character as a sex abuser, the same way people were shocked to know about Bill Cosby being one too - though I didn't follow all of Cosby, was he finally acquitted or found guilty ? In my opinion, he does look like someone who would so something like that.

What about Bob Barker ? Do you believe the allegations ? I mean sure, if you work with models all these years, there's bound to be some "touching", I do think however some of the claims were frivolous - last I heard some cases were settled off court, and some dismissed, one thing for sure, there's a lot of non consensual touching UNREPORTED out there, and it's a myth to believe that most or all claims are false. Another major shock was Lesli Moonves, CEO of CBS at the time - but when you think about it, most guys are pigs right, so there is bound to be touching and that kind of shit if you work around a lot of women - fortunately not all guys are like that - and I bet you not all guys are reporting non solicited sex advances from women

Have you ever had mashed pumpkin or pumpkin french fries ? Not me anyway :D

As to potato flakes, yeah that along with 100 very long words in the ingredients, full of additives and chemicals you have never heard of even as a chemistry major :P Take my advice, fly to Canada, PEI, you'll get all the potatoes you want in your life time and then some :D

I must say sometimes wonder about this article, I mean how is it even possible for a human to insert a 90 inch long ROPE through his urethra and into his bladder, my entire body hurts just thinking about it - some people pass kidney stones a fraction of the diameter of a rope and feel like they are pissing razor blades  and the most funny part, the guy has no mental issues, so I guess he just decided one day in his boring life, hey why not stick a 90 inch long rope up his willy - THEN he has the bollocks to complain of pain, WHY just why ? How the hell did he manage to do that awake, the urethra is an extremely sensitive area, it's meant for LIQUID to pass not foreign objects, the guy is a monster  if he did all that without pain. OR............someone with a very twisted sense of humour decided to write this article and take the piss  However, it must be true because it was also posted on verifiable news sites - I asked someone who works in the medical field, and they said YES, it is true, they see people stick foreign objects in them all the time, mostly up their arse, rarely up their willy though :P

BUT it gets even funnier at the end of the article when it mentions that someone stuck a USB cable up there because he wanted to measure the size of his willy.......... He couldn't take a bloody measuring tape, no fun in that, so why not stick a USB cable up there instead, he probably used a 6 inch cable.

I didn't know what the bloke wanted to accomplish - must be good stories to tell your kids OR in a job interview when they ask you to tell them about one of your major accomplishment in life - WELL this is hard to beat alright

valerie wrote: I don't think I would invest in 'houses' per se. These days the housing market is insane. I'm not saying people can't make money and they certainly can if they know how to flip. One never knows however, when it comes to investing, what will happen with the housing market. Land, on the other hand, is a different story. Land will always be in demand and may become more and more scarce over time.

Land yes definitely - you will notice in your property tax, your home value is split into 2 - the house itself and the land, in some cases you will see the value of the land is higher than that of the house.

Investing in houses now is a bad idea - it is pretty much the same principle of stocks - house value is CRAZY high, it would be crazy to imagine it going that much higher anytime soon, not with the crazy inflation - it would be like buying crazy amounts of stocks HIGH - when it would be a better deal to buy LOW sell HIGH. The housing market is going to pop - that bubble will pop one day for sure. What about house foreclosures or houses sold at a loss for whatever reason, those houses would sell considerably below market value - but there is another problem - not all house repairs are DYI, some require contracting, and the cost of labour is CRAZY high too - if it is a whole house remodel forget it, if it is just roofing, fixing foundation cracks, kitchen or bathroom remodel yeah you might be able to sell back the house at actual market value and make some profit - problem with house flipping - you are legally responsible for every house you sell as per the legal warranty laws, you have to ensure the quality for a reasonable duration - if new owners come across defects they can and will sue you - you may buy a house you wanna flip and not be aware there were hidden defects, you ARE responsible for those even if you had no knowledge, and the MAJORITY of homes have them, new or old homes, I'd say probably 75-90%, and most of the time they will go unnoticed unless new owners make major remodels involving tearing down walls, floors, and redoing BASEMENTS (which is where the hidden defects are mostly present. Nearly ALL old homes have outdated and failing french drains and efflorescence on foundation walls, cracks and some water infiltration - old homes did not use sump pumps, they use french drain or drain tiles - those things usually last 30-40 years or less, usually less - Cost of changing french drain here ? $75-$80k Cost of MAJOR foundation repairs here where they have to literally lift your house and install foundation posts, $120k-$200k. So someone buying a home to flip a house on a coat of paint, they better hope the new owners do not find out the hidden defects on the foundation or other structural areas of the home - because they are there, in nearly 75-90% of old homes.

Investing in commodities is good - it's items people and companies NEED and consume, there are financials and energy sectors, peop0le use energy, people use banks, insurance companies...........

Investing in homes right now can be a nightmare waiting to happen.

There was a news story not long ago about a home owner who sold his home to go live in an apartment or another home....... 17 years later they were sued by new home owners who discovered a major fault when they redid the basement - it turns out the concrete floor slab was bowing - big time - and upon inspection they found pyrite - Cost of repairs ? $220k - because they also found it all over the ground and entire foundation was sitting on that and soil contamination from oil - guess house was heating on that and an unnoticed leak for many years. They ended up winning against the old owners - I mean obviously, who wants to pay that much money after you already paid big for a new house. Old owners claimed they were NOT aware of this never were, they bought the home with finished basement. Buying or selling a house with a finished basement is a good and sure way to get rear ended eventually - I think an unfinished basement has HIGHER value, because this is where most of the structural defects and hidden defects occur, and selling an unfinished basement gives an assurance to new owners of the integrity of the house + it is much easier for inspection to detect foundation issues, leaks, cracks, etc. Contrary to what those greedy real estate agents tell people, those greedy ***** tell you to MAKE your house look GOOD, but they never mention to make sure to cover all the hidden defects, check your roof, your attic, ventilation, humidity, foundation, insulation, ELECTRICAL WIRING !!!! piping, etc, oh yeah electrical is another area - some old homes are literal fire hazards waiting to happen - electrical DYI done by old owners or IDIOT electricians, the lack of junction boxes as require by code, putting 3 prong covers on non grounded receptacles without a notice, or tying ground to neutral (which is common ahaha yes no pun intended) in old homes.

Not a good idea to buy a home as an investment right now - There are 100 year old homes bought at 50k-90k now selling at 1 million - this is not normal - these homes need $100k-$300k repairs, foundation footing and drain is guaranteed to need repair, I cannot imagine the TROUBLE these sellers will face in the long run, it's scary :D

It's cheaper to invest in 3D printers, 3D print small and affordable homes and sell :D

There are very good deals on black Friday, for those who have not upgraded their TVs, now is a good time, or still stuck with that old 1080p or 720p, now is the time to move to a 4K TV, there are $100 off deals - I already have my 4K already purchased at that discount, so nothing interesting to me this time around on B.F.

As far as potatoes and Autralia, how come there is a shortage of that, I am confused, oh my bad, there IS a difference between potato and potato heads  Here, we have a shortage of lettuce, at least for a few months, so if you order a salad in a restaurant get ready to get served 75% less portion and pay triple, so this means basically $25 for a salad, $45 for Cesar salad, the salads are even more expensive than the main dish :P Fortunately Canada is a good producer of potatoes (and potato heads  ) so no shortage here yet. The thing I noticed though, there is a massive onion rings shortage, it's been like that for YEARS - try to buy bags of frozen onion rings, impossible, I have not seen them in anywhere - I don't know what's the deal - there was a time you could purchased large bags at Costco or other local stores, no more....

So the solution Tasman1 ? For meat they invented beyond meat and impossible meat, for all the vegetarians - but what about alternatives to vegetables - WELL welcome to the world of tastes like vegetable but not a vegetable - let me introduce to you Beyond Potato - looks like a potato, smells like a potato, tastes like a potato, but is NOT a potato, you can buy your bags of Beyond Potato or Impossible Potato at your local supermarket.

On our next show we will show you how to turn apples into potatoes and how to turn celery into lettuce.

Old squidgames actor accused of sexual assault! » Post #1

Yet another shocking news - the people you least expect to be sex offenders - I mean first it was Cosby, then more actors and celebrities, and now this - shocking - the old actor everyone rooted for and loved on Squid Games, the old guy, it turns out he is being accused of sexual assault - yes the 78 year old actor allegedly did this back in 2017 - one of the most likeable innocent looking character on SG ends up being an alleged sex offender, and 78 too. What will this mean now for SquidGames, hopefully not much as this actor (SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT)........

............

This old actor's character ends up dying in the final scenes of the series - so he obviously won't be in Squid Games 2.

........

So hopefully this won't do much damage to the show's success - Let's see now he hear about males being accused for allegedly touching inappropriately - I wonder how many males report being touched inappropriately by females though :P

Anyhow, this won't change anything for the sequel hopefully, I just find it kind of ironic - OLD does not mean innocent ..........

Then you have Amazon black Friday - and as usual, nothing of interest to me this year - the thing is on this day people buy stuff they normally wouldn't just because it's on sale - so it amounts to WASTE and a good profit for retailers. I don't make it a habit of buying something unless I actually will need it and use it!

The only thing I am buying on black friday is my anti-virus renewals - which are discounted 50-70% :D

Right just like how your President treats legal money, like it's nothing

As far as Crypto, that's why it's called VIRTUAL currency, but keep in mind it still takes REAL money to buy crypto, so exchangers and crypto sellers are dealing with real $$$, then it becomes a crypto "currency" which gains or loses in value based on the buying and selling - no different than stocks, if you think about it, it's all done with real money, but instead of purchasing a company's stocks, you are purchasing a virtual currency. Then you have people buying crypto with stolen cash and credit but that's another story. In the end, crypto is extremely volatile, unregulated and very high risk because of the type of investors and potential for much bigger sell-offs, but it goes the other way too, potential for higher ups.

I am glad I never went into crypto, luckily, for some countries it is very difficult to buy / sell crypto, like Canada, we need to go through a lot of KYC stuff - yet some other countries can buy crypto as easy as they can buy candy, anonymously through foreign exchangers. In Canada you cannot just go to a site and use your CC and order crypto and sell it, that is a good thing. In the US I believe PayPal supports buying and selling crypto through its platform, not sure 100% of that, but it is not available in Canada PayPal.

Quote:
I seriously do not know why anyone would invest in it. I never have understood that. Many members here wanting to be paid in ghostesss. It's high risk and the only people that make REAL money with it is the scammers at the top of it all. That's the way it always is with that kind of crap.

Agreed 100% - Yes it is virtual but has value that can convert to real world currency, problem is volatility. You don't have to be a scammer to make real money from crypto - some people just buy and sell to make a profit, it's a bad investment if you put most of your cash in it though - and then you have miners, who invest a lot of money to mine crypto and earn $$$$, and they are not running any scams - there was a time when mining was very profitable, if you had the capital to invest in good gear - not much anymore now...... but yeah I think those represent only a small percentage of crypto users - the bulk of users are scammers and dark web, much like Liberty Reserve was mainly used for illicit and criminal activity, as was AlertPay and Payza :D and e-Gold I'm sure you remember, used on HYIP and ponzi sites.
So yeah crypto is the currency method of criminals mainly, but not entirely. There are some GPT sites (more and more) that do pay in crypto, but the minimum is much higher - some sites have a $50+ minimum. I honestly do not know how some GPT owners do this, it is just as much a high risk for them as it is for the member - unless these owners have made massive purchases LOW. A GPT paying in crypto is asking for trouble in my opinion - Facilitates fraud !

Quote:
If you're young enough and want to see a significant return on your investment without risk, buy land and/or metals. You cannot lose. People are always going to want/need land. People are always going to want/need metals. Metals, as in gold, silver, copper, diamonds, and few others like quartz, marble.

ahahaha so true on the land part :P Once upon a time you cold buy a nice home for under $90k
Yes it is a good investment - and a risky one - the risk part is if you sell at today's prices, the new owners will be VERY picky - and more likely to sue for hidden defects or bother you about stuff they "discover". It's a headache. When you sell a house, you are subject to the same legal-warranty, in that you guarantee the state and quality of the house for a reasonable duration - unless you sell as-is, but then you will be selling at a much lower than value.

As to metals, well, yeah look at copper prices now - sure I think I'll buy a few cases of diamonds :D

anybody remember when Gold was under $200 ?

Having a good balanced portfolio and diversifying investments is still key - if you make the right investments you can double your money every 7-10 years.

Yeah small houses, not mansions or very large multi story homes though, you would likely still need humans to install stuff like windows, doors, and definitely need electricians, plumbers, etc, and I also read this:

Quote:
What are the disadvantages of 3D printed houses?
There's a limited number of materials that can be used in 3D printing. These materials are light but they lack strength when used as building materials. It's now more difficult to build high-rise buildings using 3D printers because the walls will not withstand the pressure on them once they get to a certain height.

Those are meant more for mini houses, there are still limits to 3D printing, and the houses may not be as sturdy as hand built ones, even though nowadays there is a lot of cutting corners and sloppy jobs, but that's all on humans - Fact remains old homes were built better and with better material QUALITY.

Would be nice if printers could do everything around the house including remodels - would be much cheaper too :P

I didn't take any bribe I was going to comment on the news, did not read much into it and had other things, I mean who cannot notice - same old shit with crypto - people build trust, then get betrayed - I am glad I never fell for the scam. Bitcoin and crypto in general is MAINLY used by criminals OR by end-users to engage in criminal activity - that is FACT. Remove all crypto, and you destroy most of the scams ONLINE. With the fall of ponzi and illicit payment processors like LibertyReserve, SolidTrustPay, AlertPay/Payza, EGOPAY, etc, these type of sites adopted crypto, and on the dark web it is THE currency - It's a volatile currency - you have 2 type of users, 1) The investor, those who mine or buy and sell high to make money 2) Those who buy crypto to engage in illegal activity online and/or buying stuff online - crypto investors are not long term investors like the actual stock market, which is why you see huge swings, some people are chasing the highs and selling right away, so I am not surprised by this last event, and it's not finished yet, definitely not the last we hear about it. People who had purchased BTC when it was single digit back in the days, would have been filthy rich (multi millionaires by now) I hope that these people did the smart thing and cash out, and invested in safer markets, because I know a lot of people (greedy) who went from making a lot of money on crypto to being broke...... I invested thousands of $ on HYIP in my gullible days, I believe at the time BTC was $4-$8 a pop, I lost it all on HYIP unfortunately, but fortunately I recovered it all with 1 year on ClixSense, $4k. had I invested that in BTC at the time, I would have been a millionaire - I certainly would have sold high, when it was at around $50k and placed them in other non crypto investments and more than DOUBLED it by now.

Sorry for those who did lose their shirts with crypto but you should have seen it coming, there were warnings flashing everywhere - it was an extremely high risk investment to begin with.

SO what topic should we discuss next, now that mid-terms are over, now we have another big worry, the COVID situation in China getting worse and worrisome. It is kind of ironic, China has been the most strict country in the world in handling COVID19 by imposing lockdowns and making sure people abide by rules - years later, they are facing massive surges of cases, deaths, and now forced to lock down economy again - disrupting an already disrupted world economy. You would think that China would have the technology and resources to make a very strong and effective vaccine and treatment, they didn't........you would think that if this was a lab leak, they would have the antidote, they didn't.............it's almost as if they are wanting to hold world hostage and sink global economy, but then it is sinking its own ship too.......so what gives ? Another theory not talked about, the possibility of it being a lab leak BUT caused by another country - they did hire (allegedly) foreign workers in that lab didn't they ? the virus could have actually been designed in ANOTHER country, and researched in Wuhan later, given that China is in a very bad situation right now with COVID19, I think this theory makes more sense. If they really lockdown the entire country, then why the F*** are they facing surges all the time, shouldn't the virus be gone ? WELL..........here is where it becomes even more ironic - the problem in China now is travel - they are getting re-infected and surges due to INBOUND travellers - TRAVEL the very same reason the virus went from being a Wuhan outbreak to a world pandemic - China's vaccine is weaker, and Chinese population does not have the robust immunity due to the lockdowns - so infected travellers come to China (inbound) and fuel outbreaks. Instead of locking down China, perhaps the government should shut down all inbound travel ....... Markets will sell off on this renewed worry - what they are doing is playing with fire and holding world hostage - they still did not realise that this virus is here to stay, like the Flu................. It sure would be hard to encrypt that, but it's not politics so :P

For now, I do not think entire houses can be build using 3D printers, but more like modular houses and parts. OR you can build an entire house out of legos, I heard of someone doing that, it would probably be more solid than most homes built today  Concrete is porous - so build home foundations out of sturdy LEGOS, no more water or moisture infiltration :D

Wood costs a lot of money, it's almost criminal - SO use LEGOS instead of wood for structure, or 3D print some material, though maybe the plastic is not ideal to nail the drywalls on to  SO skip drywall and use ONE piece 3D printed metal walls or you can use LEGOS and go all in :D
