Are you sure about that ? Because if true then we are heading towards world peace, which is opposite of what we have now  I think it's more likely that the good opposites will flip to evil, and not the other way around. It would also means that you will become best friends with your worst enemies - and enemies with your closest friends - WELL only partially true - but not the best friends with your enemies part :P

So what would be the opposite of ySense then ? Sensey ? ActualSense ? :P

I reckon we will have this same discussion on Mars in some billion years, we will be discussing about how Mars is polluted and how humanity has destroyed itself, and we will be looking for other planets....... Maybe this is what happened to us, we were probably inhabiting other planets, that we destroyed and now we are on earth - next we might end up on Mars or Saturn's ringpiece :P or Uranus ?

4 forum pages of pigeon poo.

   It's funny you say that because I was thinking exactly the same, I think I may have mentioned it in another topic, how the hell does a topic on pigeon poo get so much popularity over other important topics including even the war topics..........We are not allowed to discuss our demise and current events, but pigeon turd no problem :P

Yeah crazy time is an understatement.........I've been trying to figure that one out and still can't see the logic.

I fell asleep and forgot to post results, so I was too late for checklist screenshot. I used the transaction history instead, just click on the link to open a clearer image.

4 surveys
$24.26
1 offer
$ 0.10
Checklist bonus
$ 3.90

Total so far this month: $61.29
Last month: $18.74
Year: $149.57

SO yeah, situation still bad for me, overall I think it's important to mention that, yes it's possible to have good days here, but unfortunately most days are horrible. If I reach $100+ this month it will the most earnings earned here sine pandemic. The lack of routers here is appalling - there is no more YourSurveys invites for Canadians and other members too, so 1 less router, the only thing left here is Peanut Labs, the rest is JUNK. Earnings here would be more consistent on a daily basis if things were as they used to be before the changes of 2020......I'm happy to have good days, I just wish earnings were consistent here.

So this post is mainly to show that it is possible to get higher paid surveys, it is rare but sometimes it happens.

AND why you should never close doors - even if sometimes the grass is greener on the other side.

2nd 2 digit day earnings this month, 1st one was on April 1st (not an April fools), and 2nd was yesterday, you know what they say, 3 times a charm, will I get another, who knows.

So nobody can accuse me of not trying, unfortunately most days are bad - and I will keep saying so until things change, but I never stopped trying.

Speaking of pigeons, I have a bad cold, I jinxed it, after nearly 3+ years without one, it finally happened, and yet here nobody has a cold, flu, 0, all wear masks so no cases...........I wear masks and have always been strict on following measures, no contact, etc, so how did I possibly get it - I'm thinking maybe some pigeons shat on my face whilst I was asleep - 2 negative COVID tests, though I don't buy it - luckily just stuffy nose that's it. And speaking of chickens,
do that ultimate question what CAME first the eggs or the chicken, the correct answer is Chicken obviously - if you are an adult you will understand this

NOW where were we, ah yes, fish - a vegetarian in the true sense does NOT eat fish either - they don't eat any flesh of animals, so in the true sense, a vegetarian does not eat meat, fish or sea food, if they do, then they are not vegetarian.

Vegans do not eat dairy or eggs or any product derived from animals.

Not all Indians are vegetarian that is a MYTH, but their meat consumption is somewhat different to this part of the world,
the cow is a sacred animal, so CHICKEN is most consumed and popular.

As to why people are vegetarian or have certain convictions, I guess to each their own - some people do not like the idea of eating animals that are killed - they would rather kill trees, plants and flowers and nature instead :D Or they fancy eating impossible / beyond meat products THINKING it is healthier, when in reality it is more DANGEROUS and toxic than actual meat - but yeah - the marketing industry is playing mind trick son people - because people don't do stuff based on convictions, but based on what they THINK is better, but in reality turns out to be false. It makes me furious to see some people brag about how healthy they eat because they consume those impossible meat products and think they are eating healthy

On that note, most vegetarians do not know that they are ingesting pesticides and other chemicals too............
As to pigeons being the most disgusting creature, hardly, I mean their poo is, but there are definitely more disgusting creatures - many..........

Sure it's easy to say when you are 80-90 year old - I'm still part of that new generation, I must be in the 1% of those who gives a sh** and thinks the future is bleak, very disturbing and full of evil and incompetence , and besides there is nothing much the generation can do when everything is decided by politicians (mostly criminals) - people THINK they have a say by acting like a bunch of idiots and protesting on the streets, raising hell etc when in the end it makes no bloody difference - - the only way one can make a difference is with a vote, unfortunately people vote for the same idiots year after year, if you follow Canadian politics you will understand  BUT do we really have a bloody choice here ? We are stuck with either Liberals or Conservatives and a few other parties that would never win like NDP etc, all of them are garbage - so the idea is to vote for the lesser smelling turd - At least in America a President can only have 2 consecutive terms, unlike Canada that can be stuck with the same turd for decades :P

So yeah there is nothing the current generation can do about the really dark future ahead - Besides remember the "all will be raised from the dead" part - there is no escaping, ALL humans will have a VIP ticket to the final show, and that final show will be one heck of sh** storm :D

NOW, the world is at war, COVID19 is breaking new records, pandemic back in full swing, and yet nobody has even brought up that major solar flare we had recently, you know the one which could have destroyed all telecommunications on earth and disrupted everything, computers, etc, just like in films :D

So yes I guess you are right, enjoy life whilst you have a chance - enjoy seeing those crooked, corrupted, waste of DNA cells of politicians live lavish lifestyle with your money and take ALWAYS the wrong decisions that impact everyone negatively.

Is there ONE thing encouraging lately ? New COVID variants 50000% more contagious, new NeoCoV found in bats, 1 mutation away from humans, 33%mortality, war in Ukraine, possible WW3, high inflation, world unrest, 2/3 of the world population poor or hungry, it's hard to find good news, because a lot of it is fake..... Do we have cures for diabetes, NO, do we have a cure for Cancer, NO, do we have a cure for COVID19, 3 years later, NOPE, what we have are vaccines that give you a false sense of protection and outdated because people are still dying, and that protection is not 100%.......... COVID pills ? Hardly, when 99% of the world cannot afford spending thousands of $ for the 5 day treatment, that MAY or MAY NOT help. In some parts of Canada it is covered by public health plan, YET hospitalisations and deaths are only going one direction - UP......................... THEN we have a pope that goes around doing who knows what, I mean since when did Popes make any difference anyway, come on, as if there was any hope for world peace in the first place - School shootings every other day, rising poverty everywhere, food and supply shortages across the world, who and WHAT is worse than Putin ? The big poharmaceuticals in cahoots with hospitals, all medical progress being BLOCKED by pharmas that want to control a multi trillion $ industry by making sure people ingest their poisonous concoction - but blocking actual cures that could wipe disease from the face of the earth - So who are the real criminals here killing MILLIONS of people - they are on our side of the grass - what's worse than a war criminal, an industry that blocks medical progress resulting in dead bodies, in order to maintain a multi trillion $ empire and enriching the pockets of a lot of able bodied con artists at our bloody expense.

So remind me again, what good news, where, what, how and why -:P

....when a country's population support a DANGEROUS criminal with severe mental problems, you know that something is very wrong - next up in sanctions BAN inbound and outbound travel, ALL travel, the point of this post is not political but rather COVID19 is coming back strong because of the idiots politicians who decided to pretend it's over - Hospitalisations and DEATHS are up up up, and now already a new variant called XE, it is a combination of Omicron BA1 and BA2.......... + I think I may have COVID19, finally - though I tested negative with rapid test antigen, I feel it is a false negative sine I have what looks like cold symptoms, runny, stuffy nose - it started with sore throat, then the nose and now some cough, the thing is there is no colds or flu going around as everyone is wearing a mask and I am super careful, I dunno how the bloody bleepin' hell I got this one, I am triple vaccinated, my 3rd dose was in January. Today in the news, a 46 year old father perfect health and fit, no health histories or risks, triple vaccinated, has been struggling in the ICU for the past 3 months from COVID19, in and out of coma......It's true that vaccines are not 100%, but aren't they supposed to protect you really well against severity ? Why the F*** are they pushing an outdated vaccine - why the F*** hasn't Pfizer or Moderna moved their arses and released an Omicron vaccine already - I'm sure it would be fare more effective, right now we are getting the generic vaccine for Wuhan strain - we are being TOLD it still protects us but I am beginning to wonder if we have not been bullshitted all this time - we were lied to - Pfizer and Moderna said they could have a new mRNA vaccine ready in less than 100 days - Omicron has surfaced far more than 100 days, we should have a bloody Omicron vaccine by now - I mean it's useless to keep pushing boosters after boosters - no more bloody booster shots for me, enough is enough, 3 doses, and I think I got COVID19, I'm not getting anymore shots until a NEW Omicron or whatever variant comes next specific vaccine comes out.

So far my symptoms are just of a moderate cold. With an Omicron specific vaccine I would not even get infected in the first place - and who knows without the vaccine maybe I would be in hospital - there gain maybe I don't have COVID maybe I have a cold - it makes me so irate because cold or not I have to isolate, and I am not used to doing nothing.

So to all the anti-vaxxers and COVID conspirators and other morons - wake up - this sh** is real - and whoever doctor or politician told you that this pandemic is over or reached an endemic stage they are nothing more than a bunch of charlatans in suits and criminals - we have not seen the worse of this bloody pandemic yet - and so far nobody is taking responsibility for this - I know who should, and they should pay the big price - and the moron who drafted the sovereign immunity papers, should have added exceptional clauses to invalidate the clause and revoke immunity under extraordinary circumstances - this is one of them IMO.

Whilst 2 knobs are fighting a war - there are INNOCENT people DYING and going to hospital on a daily basis, and the CRIMINALS that they are politicians are now telling people OK remove all your masks, kiss each other, hug each other it's OK, learn to live (and die) with the virus.

I am furious !

So you are knitting Tasman1, amazing hobby, you should post some pics :D there are single digits deaths and cases in Tasmania whole pandemic and they lock down, here we have 20-30,000 cases and dozens of deaths and they are saying HEY NO MORE restrictions, NO MORE masks, NO MORE distancing, do as you please...........wow, it would be niec if everyone got sick for the sake of herd immunity, but a new variant comes out every other month, we will never get there, it will be a non stop cluster-f***.....................

and the new Paxlovid and antivirals in my opinion is just a bunch of fraud - you would think that by now as cases go up hospitalisations and deaths would go down - YET it is the opposite, deaths are going up, hospitalisations are going up, and here we have 95-98% fully vaccinated. WELL if the damned vaccine was Omicron specific, we'd have a fraction of cases right now - We've been shafted by Pfizer and Moderna.........efficacy of their generic Wuhan strain vaccines is far far lower than they report, it has to be, there would not be so many symptomatic cases and hospitalisations.

That said, vaccine is still a good option to people who are more vulnerable and high risk, in other words 90% of Americans - Most Americans and Canadians have one or more risk factors, which is why hospitalisations in America is far higher, when you compare to countries like South Africa.

Chris Rock was told to sue Smith for 200 million.

By the way, Chris Rock was already extremely famous before Smith slapped him.

Wait what ? Are you kidding me ? $200 million for a slap that did not even injure him, he d id not fall, he did not suffer any emotional damage or financial loss, how the HELL can someone sue for $200 million for a slap - is this how it works in America - where do I sign up to get slapped

Is there legal precedent for people suing for millions for a slap or any assault that does not result in injury ? $200 million wow, talk about frivolous lawsuits - Will Smith's current NET worth is $350 million - there is no way this would work out, and yes he was famous before the slap - BUT his financial success has increased ten fold sine the slap, he has gotten offers for BIG money for interviews, he was oversold tickets, the prices for tickets has gone up by $100 a ticket, he was famous, but now he is making tons of money. I'm no lawyer, but I would think you can only sue if you have an actual case, financial or emotional damage including loss of reputation, loss of money, injury, expenses, etc. Chris Rock would have to be dirty greedy SOB to sue for $200 million after an event that made him more money. I would love to see the court case for that, in front of the judge, yes your honour, I am suing for $200 million because Willy slapped my cheek on live TV - I know you can sue for big money if someone says something about you that is not true, but a slap - wow, so how much could he get if he gets his lights punched and unconscious on stage, billions ? $200 million now that's almost 2/3 of Will's net worth there is no way he would pay that, some good lawyers could have justified his slap - hey they did it for OJ Simpson who clearly was guilty AF - Took 9 damn months, but they did it.

Maybe Chris Rock can sue for $200 million, but Valerie, who is Valerie, nobody knows Valerie, is she a Comedian, an actress, nope, so you probably could not sue for $200 million - if anything Chris Rock should sue the Academy for the lack of security nearby when Will stood up and walked towards the stage, there should have been security there, and he should have immediately been removed, regardless of whether Rock said he did not want to press charges - the lack of security was appalling - it was just a bitch slap - a weak a$$ slap  BUT it could have been a serious punch, a stab, he could have gone out of control and killed him even - When Will goes up to the stage you can hear him call out someone's name, who the hell's Richard ? Was it one of the producers ? Goes to show you even the production did not see this coming - I mean what did they think Will was gonna do, go up on stage and kiss him ?

I'd sue him for his millions.

ahahahahaha - is that how it works in America ? Can you really sue someone that slaps you - I mean sure you can press charges for battery / assault, but unless you are severe hurt and have medical expenses, I don't think you can sue for millions - It was clearly a slap, he could have punched him senseless, it was a slap the guy didn't fall, and I don't think he was hurt or injured, so millions of $, nah, besides sine the incident his shows are over sol, he's made tons of money from that event, if anything he should pay a commission to Smith for helping him out

Though there are stories in America where people have successfully sued for burning their lip on coffee at McDonlds, or tipping on a rock - so if Will Smith smacked the "sh**" out of you (Chris Rock's own words) I don't think you would be able to sue for millions, if only it were that easy - Let's reverse roles, if it were Will Smith presenting and Chris Rock smack Smith, I don't think things would have ended well, clearly Smith would not have that same level of self control - he probably would have struck back - come on Will Smith Uncle Phil thought you better than that :P

yeah ordinary person who's net worth is $350 million - one of the highest paid actors in the last 20 years. If anything CHris Rock should be thankful to Will Smith - ever sine the slap, Chris Rock's career has exploded, he is oversold on all of his venues, he has never seen such a thing before, he is getting big offers from everywhere, no wonder the guy didn't want to press charges - he may become the richest comedian in America now  But yeah he still CAN sue if he wants to, still assault is assault whether it was the best slap you ever had in your life, still assault

If the person became a millionaire through hard work and dedication he should be respected that too only if he has not lost humanity. But almost 80% of millionaires have become so by illegal deeds and dont need respect. Those who consider them are stars are really doing a foolish thing.

Not all wealthy people deserved it, not all really worked hard to get there - they just got lucky, met the right person or slept with the right person - Look at Celine Dion, she was born and raised in a Ghetto - let's be honest here Celine is not a looker, and there are singers with far better voices than her, by a mile. She was just LUCKY - slept a few times with her manager, then Rene Angelil gambled his money and everything on her, took a big risk and it paid off, she met the right people who put her on the right track - Angelil invested a f* ton of money on her and she is where is is because of Angelil - otherwise she would probably still be working 9 to 5 or doing skits at local pubs or a Montreal drug lord :D

Not all wealthy people in show business are deserving - a lot are just greedy ***ts who STILL complain of their situation despite their lavish lifestyle, and they have a tendency of being snobs. Some people have earned their fame and fortune they worked to the top, they EARNED IT - for most, they have been pushed up to the top by meeting the right people and sleeping with the right people - FACT! :D some people are famous and rich not by their talent but just by popularity - The TRUE talents are the ones struggling to be known, they don't always make it to fame. Look at Drake, does he deserve his fame and fortune ? The guy shags everything that moves, and has absolutely no ethics not respect, the only thing he doesn't bang is furniture :P For Will Smith, well he was a rapper, never an actor, he got super ******g lucky to have landed a main role on Fresh Prince of Bel Air at the time, he wasn't even an actor !!! BUT someone just gambled on him and believed in him, I think that someone was Quincy Jones, Will Smith owes a lot to Fresh Prince Of Bel AIr, - It's amazing how far in life you can go if you have the talent ***AND*** you meet the right people - unfortunately you cannot go far if you have just talent, you need some MF to believe in you, some people have the luck others don't.

As much as Will Smith made a huge mistake, should we really be hard on him, it's not like nobody else made mistakes in their life, OK we didn't slap some dude up on stage on Oscar night  But we all did shi**y mistakes, the guy is worth almost half a bloody billion $ and is 53, you would think he would be careful about his actions and preserve his image and career - I think he just resigned not out of guilt, F*** that, if he could bitch slap Rock again he'd do it, I don't think his apologies are sincere, he just quit because it is less humiliating than being suspended - he probably was tipped or knew the Academy would kick him out, by his nuts :D so he took the option of resigning first, meanwhile Rock's popularity has skyrocketed.

Of course he was wrong - He assaulted someone, and he violated the Academy's code of conduct. As to Chris Rock he was an insensitive ***t - even though he did not break any laws or violate the Academy's code of conduct, his joke was of bad taste and inappropriate, even though it was innocent, but yeah Will Smith was in the wrong, 100%. The guy is 53 not 12 :D OK mind you the guy is Phily, but the Oscars is not the hood  Settle your scores when the show's over - 53 year old vs. 57 year old, they can swing at each other in the parking lot, OR they can settle their score on Steve Wilkos show ( I don't even know if that is still around ) or on Dr. Phil, the pretend shrink :P

Quote:
There has been comedians all thru the ages that have made jokes much worse.

True - but in their respective venues - you don't make these kinds of jokes on Oscar night - in fact, Chris Rock's jokes were not part of the script they had for him - Now imagine if instead of Chris Rock this was Richard Pryor or Steve Harvey, no way would they just take that slap  there is no way Will would have gotten away slapping the wrong dude - notice how Chris Rock said "oooh I could....." then he stopped - He was ready to attack Will back verbally, probably he knows controversial stuff about Will and his family - Rock could have easily destroyed him with words, he didn't, he got humiliated and slapped on live TV by someone younger than him, now that deserves him an Oscar - I dunno if the directors were yelling in his ear to keep calm, but he sure handled it in a way to save his career - most people wanted him to strike back, then both would be guilty - unfortunately, you cannot hit someone who wrongs you or says bad things about you - the Oscar night is not the far west

Quote:
A great example of that is right here at these forums. Childish behavior is fine until it disagrees with somebody and then BAMO it gets deleted without even a nasty explanation let alone a nice one.

 This forum is not that bad, you should see the forum for a company I worked for, for several years, much much worse, you could get away with lots if you sucked up to the staff and community manager, it's amazing some of the sh** they allowed from certain people - cussing customers out, nasty remarks, slandering and mangling customers names into vulgar alternative names, etc. as to discussing politics, you were only allowed to discuss topics if the views were shared by the company running the forums, so in this case, the far left, so you loved Obama and his diatribe, no problem, but if your views did not align with company, bam, you are done....... There are other forums too I've seen (and not participated in) - that were far worse, even the mods and admins were violating their own rules, so yeah compared to some other forums I have seen over the years, it's not so bad here, it's a shame because we could have been on top - but Prodege has taken so many bad decisions, be it forum, be it surveys, they COULD have been on top they haven't, they had 3+ bloody years to do so. They can claim all they want that they are making good earnings, sure, so it's easy to ignore the % of members who have seen their earnings decline by 95-99% from when they acquired ClixSense. it's so much easier to look the other way.

Quote:
Smith thought he was being cool doing what he did. You could see the snicker grin on his face as he walked back to his seat.

Yeah I noticed that smirk too, maybe he thought he was still on the Fresh Prince Of Bel Air  Imagine if James Avery was still alive and sitting in the audience - Now James Avery was like a father to Will, he sure would have been disappointed, probably he would have gone up and smacked some sense into him (that would have been great television  ) - anyway, yeah that smirk, it's like he was trying not to laugh - to me this seemed like this was a skit, that it was staged, but no, it wasn't, I'm sure even the audience thought it was staged, but it wasn't, but I guess Will forgot what age he is, maybe he thought he was still 12 and in the hood and was like "hey look at me I just smacked some dude LIVE on TV in front of millions of bored Americans/Canadians who watch the Oscars.......) guess he felt so cool at the time, he knew there was no possible way Chris Rock could swing back at him, he was one of the hosts - so that was an easy one for Will - it's kinda SHOCKING, you'd think a 53 year old man with a family would be more wise, I mean the guy is an actor and rapper, he could have used his words to get back at Chris, he missed that opportunity, instead he puts a dent on his reputation and career - This ain't the hood buddy

Quote:
He backfired on him and he is fortunate thus far that he was not placed in jail or sued. There's a lot of people that could have sued him for that, not just Rock.

Technically only Rock, since he was assaulted - he was presented all the options back stage by police and producers, he categorically refused and said he does not want to press charges - maybe on the moment he did not want to make matters worse - of course it looks better on Chris that way - maybe had he pressed charges, it would make him look worse - you see in Show Business it's all about image - ethics all go down the toilet, in the end you do whatever gives you the better image......Chris Rock did all the right things that night..... Obviously other comedians encouraged him to sue and reconsider, he could eventually sue, if his career or health changes for the worse as a result, he could sue for punitive damages, and not the assault itself, who knows........but now that Will resigned it's unlikely Chris will do anything, and besides it's rare that any of these cases go to court, they would usually get settled off court. As to the Academy - they are discussing about actions to take against will, can the network or Academy sue Will, I don't think so, if anything it boosted their ratings that night - even Chris Rock said it, it's one of the best moment of television LOL I think he meant to say "best moment of Oscars night" - :P the most the Academy can do is expulsion - but he already resigned - If Will's actions compromised the integrity of the Oscars or caused financial loss, yep he could get sued in the future, anything is possible, but unlikely to be sued - what sanctions he will get now that he resigned is unknown. He resigned as a MEMBER, he won't have Academy member privileges, but he will still be able to get an Oscar, will he be able to accept it in person, who knows, maybe they forbid him anywhere near the building  Maybe they will have him do community work, maybe they will hire him as host of the Oscars so he can slap all the undeserving winners

ahahahahaha good one - everything is about $$$$$$$$$ the only time a network or studio would break ties with Will is if they lose financially from keeping him, that's how it works - If Netflix would lose subscribers as a result, in protest, they will act, only then - if a Network loses sponsors, they will act............otherwise if they are not affected financially, they won't do anything. Besides they would still have to honour their contract. Netflix will only break with Smith if financially it is the right thing - everything evolves around MONEY.

I wonder what Trump thinks of that night, did he comment ? Trump has been bashed and called out by reporters many times, not once did he slap a reporter - Trump uses the power of his mouth (unfortunately, his mouth gets him in trouble :D) So Will should have used his Phily mouth - his mouth made him famous on the Fresh Prince :D

Yeah UPLOAD is not for everyone, it's a different style, might take a while to get in to it, it's one of those science fiction, after life type, but it comes nowhere close to the quality of The Good Place with star Ted Danson. The Good Place was my favourite after life series of all time, best acting and cast I have ever seen.

As far as Vanished movie, yeah from the beginning of the movie I could sense that couple was weird, especially the wife, what a weirdo, she looked stoned or that she had some problems, as far as the ending well it suggests they did not get caught and make more victims - the whole point is that there are lots of crazy people on this side of the world that are not caught, asylums are too full so they roam the streets - it's less costly for the "system", same for prisons.
The fact they lost their daughter because they were not there when they were supposed to is CRIMINAL negligence - if hubby likes to look at other women, he should have thought about that before having kids - people DO stuff and THINK later - why the HELL do people marry in the first place if they cannot commit - this is why I think to have kids you would require special permits, like driving, only more strict - and you need to pass an exam, an exam that is very difficult to pass and most people would fail :D Seriously in North America they should add a quota, no more than 2, even though 2's too many nowadays  and if you do have kids, you must every year pass a strict assessment and exam, just like doctors have to go through re-assessments every year to keep their medical license. :D

valerie wrote: If you own a restaurant in America, it must be licensed. There are regular inspections and FDA inspections. You can go to jail forever if you are illegally feeding people something they are not aware of. If the menu says fish, it better be fish.

Same in Canada, all business must have a license, and regular inspections - BUT..........MANY slip through the cracks, unfortunately there cannot be one inspector per restaurant, just like there cannot be one cop on every corner........... It's amazing how many dirty, filthy, vermin infested restaurants are still operating - some get fined, pay the fine and continue being filthy - there is lot of corruption in the industry, a lot of restaurants here are owned by the mob, so yeah they know in advance when inspectors are coming - or these restaurants are generally ignored by inspectors - it's called money in a brown envelope - the mighty powerful money  Usually inspectors here will check for cleanliness, correct handling of food and temperature, etc. It's not like they will come and take SAMPLES of the meat to see if it is not dog or rat  they don't, unless they suspect it or have complaints - some restaurants here have gotten away so many years by serving "non conventional" sh**. One of them was a buffet, years later they were caught serving dog meat or whatever meat that was imported - what's even more disturbing is how they could last so many years and nobody notice - it's amazing how much you can alter the taste of food using the right combination of spice and sauce  YUMMY - so this is the way I see it, never assume you are eating quality food by just the taste, in a restaurant, also food substitution is a problem here, you order a specific fish, you get something else, most people eating in a restaurant are not Gordon Ramsey chefs, they won't dissect the fish and say "HEY this is not the Fish I ordered", most people cannot tell Cod from Tylapia (which is essentially sewer fish that feeds on well, sh*t :D ) - in blind taste tests, most people cannot tell apart chicken and turkey. Then you have the issues with those "buffets" recycling food, reheating leftovers or cooking stuff that are well past due their shelf life, and using chemicals to mask the taste - or mixing fresh and old ......... You would think only the fast food joints are the filthiest, nope, some 5 star rated hotels / restaurants have had sanitary issues and fined big time, even well known brands.

Other than inspecting work place, they should take a sample of every food a restaurant serves and analyse it in a lab - you would be shocked at the results - but that won't ever happen - 1) It would be wayyyyyy too costly 2) Would take wayyyyyyy too much time and require a lot of workers.......it would be too costly, so instead they just catch the ones they can and fine them - a restaurant can have a clean inspection, they keep their floor cleans and fridge at the right temperatures, equipment clean, no problem, they pass, but behind the scenes they could be serving crap - unless someone gets sick or a complaint is filed, they will be able to get away with it for a while, like that buffet that was serving cats and dogs for a decade or that restaurant that was buying expired meats for 80% discount and serving it in his restaurant .................. Oh yeah and the hot dogs people love to eat so much on this side of the pond, do people really know how it's made ? It's amazing, if people knew how their favourite foods are made, they would change their diet quick :D

There is a reason why corned beef is so cheap :P those chicken nuggets people crave about so much, well, ever wondered how the breading sticks to the chicken and does not crumble - they use industrial bonds - basically glue :D
No wonder people in North America are so unhealthy - it's kinda ironic because in the countries that eat snakes, cats, dogs, rats, etc, they seem to be much healthier - no not because they eat that stuff, because they eat less of the garbage we have here on this side of the planet.

Better go have some lunch I'm hungry

Well no benefits to closing loop holes, remember, they will get you some other way - the more money in consumers' pockets, the more buying power, the more they buy the more tax government gets - win-win, see, here in Canada, you must REPORT EVERYTHING you earn - reporting does not mean you will pay taxes on that, reporting income from ALL sources, then you file your taxes, you get taxed on the FINAL total of your income - deductions, credits, etc. In Canada you are allowed a base earning, which is tax FREE, for example for Federal there is an amount, don't know it by heart, say $7k, and provincial, another amount, so as an example, first $15k tax free, so if you earn $30k, in this case you would be taxed on $15k. Here we have income tax brackets based on total taxable earnings. Earnings online count as Other sources of income and added along with your employment income and everything else. The only difference here in Canada is that lottery and prize winnings are tax free - BUT the bank interests on your winnings is taxable, except for TFSA accounts. In the US, lottery winnings must be reported, even prizes (their value) as they are considered an asset, so you win $1 million in the US, around $350,000 goes to Uncle Sam, even if you win non-money prizes, cars, trips, etc, all taxable.

I wonder how many Canadians report their online earnings :D By law ALL earnings must be reported, whether you will pay taxes on it or not. I only report money that is transferred to my bank account through PayPal - I use PayPal statements as proof - for the amazon gift cards, etc, nope, I don't think the CRA will wanna bother with someone who earns $400 a year on a GPT site anyway  - This is why in America $1 million is not considered a lot, you are not even considered rich - The base line is usually $15 million, then you are considered somewhat wealthy - Now Biden, as expected wants to raise corporate tax from 21% up to 28%, wants to tax all the companies who have been dumping money to keep the stocks healthy during pandemic - after all someone has to pay for his crazy expenses, you know, solar powered bidets for all Americans, Green blob economy, etc. so yeah hopefully that never passes if GOP takes control in the mid-terms, and they better :D The only thing we are not taxed here is the air we breath, and going to the toilet - some countries do tax that, in France for example, for No. 2's it's more

Are we gonna get screwed over by Amazon ? » Post #4

valerie wrote: It shouldn't make any more difference to the consumer than it already does because the thing is, unions have union fees. Everyone that belongs to the union must pay those fees, generally out of every pay check. Also, I can't recall but it seemed like it was only in one State.

Sure, but remember also unions have power - for instance, power to disrupt the service through strikes, power to DEMAND raises, eventually all companies must comply or meet them half way, so what happens when union workers get a raise, who pays for that raise, does it come out of Jeff Bezos' own greedy pockets, nope, it's the consumer that pays the price through subscription hikes and more expensive products - will that deter people from buying on Amazon, hardly, people buy on Amazon not for quality, certainly not quality  but for convenience of getting stuff delivered at your doorstep (or thrown) the same day or next day.... or stuff you cannot find locally. Not all deals on Amazon are good - some 3rd party sellers are abusing and selling products at 10-50 times their MSRP, especially discontinued items. I mean when was the last time you spent $40 for a small box of carpet freshener  ALSO people think they are getting a deal on Prime FREE shipping, but in reality nothing is FREE - you will notice that when you browser for a product, it will sometimes say "available through other sellers for less, but without free shipping" - Amazon is already INCLUDING that shipping fee or partially including it to the product's price - there is no way that Amazon can cover all the shipping with just the Prime memberships - the math does not add up :D So maybe Amazon will add a Union TAX to our total  Nowadays even pencil sharpeners are union - it's basically a method to blackmail your boss asking for a raise without pointing a gun to their head, and having them meet you halfway and you accepting it - same old same old over and over, so in the LONG run this can't be good news for end-users looking for a bargain, not that all Amazon products are bargain anyway - especially when 3rd party sellers are involved - Even Amazon Basics, their own product line is shoddy at best, exploding batteries, cables that catch fire, etc. .... and when to strike ? Well pick busy holidays, or periods where people buy the most - A company like Amazon would easily give in to the demands or would they ? It's not like there are many Amazon alternatives out there, unless you fancy buying 100% counterfeit items or buying at the penny auctions or Wish
