There is an old MYTH, that we only use 10% of our brain - this myth was debunked as false - but if you really think about it, it may not be far from the truth - One thing for sure, politicians don't use any % at all - ok maybe 1-2%, some 5% for being extra cunning and convincing :P

As far as pet snakes - pet scorpions - pet tarantulas, pet rocks - what are people thinking ?

Because I can only make $600 a year here since they want my social security number once I make $600.

So I stopped last year since I had already made $600. There was no point in my doing surveys here daily since I can only cash out $600 for the entire year.

So you don't want to give them your social security #, yet you gave them your date of birth, full legal name and home address - :D Doesn't PayPal already have your SSN ? Yeah that IRS wants 35% of your earnings here, all that money people work hard for, and in the end the administration spends billions of tax payers to find aliens and other planets ......
Do all GPTs work like that and ask for SSN ? I guess they have to report back to the IRS - we get paid for work done on this site, so it's an expense I guess :D

I don't remember a lot about it but I just know I liked it. Yeah, I don't think I would give it 5 stars just a good 3 star interesting enough movie.

Agree about rating - Oh that gardener the girl found dead and hidden in the attic ? So that's why he didn't cash his pay check - they should have added flash back moments - so where does the fake Real Estate agent come into play ? How the hell did he know about the Jewelry, was there a connection between the fake Real Estate guy and the former gardener ? It sure is funny how she went from being a suspect, to her husband being a prime suspect, that was so believable, I really believed her husband was guilty and took the money from the vault and diamonds and was going to run, then, it was the real estate agent (fake one) and finally the big twist, the lawyer herself who aided and abetted a criminal - WOW didn't expect that  The acting is just weird in places, I mean there was a strong connection between the caretaker and patient, there was a bond - and when she came home only to find him dead, her reaction was just the same as "oh well you're dead" The guy dies, and before you know it, the caretaker and her husband are both moving in, celebrating in the new house, wow very odd - she works 4 months there and yet she gets everything, sometimes I wonder, was this will real or made up as a setup. They find $100,000 in cash in a chest, they take it, then she inherits the house, all his money and $3 million worth of diamonds, not bad .... she finds a dead rotting corpse in the attic - nope doesn't seem to frighten her or bother her that much - her husband proceeds to disposing and hiding the dead body in a dumpster - lol - I dunno, I don't think this marriage would last - oh yeah doesn't matter because the husband got shot, yet the girl's reaction was so weak, so after all of this she keeps the house, the fortune, the diamonds, and case is closed - that's a little bit far fetched and unrealistic to say the least, but still ok,

I watched it last night - it was rated 5.3 on IMDB and I see why now. The story is great, execution is average at best, the delivery is so weak - I mean it does not feel like a thriller at all - the girl's reaction when she finds him dead is a horrible performance, her husband, etc, the acting is so average, I could spot a few editing glitches and mistakes, I mean wow the twists at the end and the ending - it was just OK, not the worst but could have been far better and intense, I mean at the end you kinda wonder, did she place the diamonds there herself or did she genuinely not know where the diamonds were hidden - notice when that lawyer gets shot you hear squirting sound effects, it's definitely a low budget movie - but expected from most Netflix originals :D

I didn't watch it either it's all fluff - but now I read in the news that there was a scuffle - so I'll look for it on YouTube, it's probably the most entertaining part of the Oscars anyway  So apparently Chris Rock made a joke comparing Jada's hair to a character in G.I. Jane, and Will Smith went up and smacked, jabbed or punched (didn't see the scene yet) in the head / face and cussed him out.......I didn't think Will Smith had it in him  Well at least he used his hands and not a gun, though that's clearly assault. Was that a publicity stunt ? Nah, neither one of those rich cats need any publicity :D

Well it looks like Chris got Fresh with the Fresh Prince

Valerie started doing surveys again few day ago since oatmeal squares are gone up in price 100% , I can not see another reason , or Bo [ ask Valerie who is that ] did stop sharing his/her bone

oh that sounds so bad Tasman1 doesn't sound right    Anyways, yeah those oatmeal squares have gone up in price - that's how it works, democrats in power, inflation goes up, debt goes up, everything goes up up up, and now they wanna tax the rich in 2023's budget - yeah more tax dollars for government to waste I guess, a trillion here, a billion there, why not, but it's funny, poverty is at its highest in 300 years, suicides are up, debt is up, shootings / crimes, up up up, and they want people to buy local :P

WELL you never know - I'm sure tech support people see this kind of stuff all the time, I'm sure there are recordings somewhere of a support agent fixing a customer's issue with his computer, and all along it turns out that they forgot to plug in the cord in the wall first - customer would complain computer does not turn on after pushing the button :P
So just had to make sure

That's probably the first question Dell support will ask you ....... it's hard to know what the problem could be at a distance, is the screen totally black not even a blinking cursor ? no sound no nothing, could be a power supply issue or failure somehwere - did you drop it ? :D

Don't waste your time with that it's probably too old and outdated anyway, it's amazing how companies have managed to force our hands into upgrading to keep up with new sites, software, etc, windows XP is outdated, cannot get an update, some software cannot even be updated, including browsers, some do not work, some sites also do not work.......so people upgraded to Windows 7, now it's end of life, and now Windows 10 will stop being supported in 2025, no more updates after that - I'm glad I made the jump to 11, so far so good, but the crazy system requirements
if not for a good GPU, and a fast SSD I would not bother - I cannot imagine anybody running a modern system OS in other than an NVME SSD :D These are so much faster, and boot times, 7-12 seconds to full, maybe that Laptop of yours is running WIndows 98 :P

valerie wrote: Yes I have vBulletin or did have. It's some where. It's also complicated, the paid version. Problem is once you make the site call/name, you're stuck with it. I had it for awhile many years ago for a program and there was a ton of stuff to it. My members could have their own blog thru it and all kinds of stuff. It was a lot of work. I think it was vBulletin. There is or was the two or three forum options that were/are generally included when purchasing hosting service.

a lot of work indeed, well mainly the work is setting it up, configuring, uploading to host, setting up the database link script to the database, manage the database, etc. But vBulletin is highly configurable, but it's crazy expensive, I've just experimented at the time out of curiosity with an unpaid script :D It was operated by Jelsoft at the time, but now it is run by MH Sub I, LLC - at the time I think there was a licencing structure covering ONE domain, how crazy is that, ONE forum per domain, I don't know if there was a lifetime licence. Company also was very strict about its licence, they had provisions to track down illegal use, sites using unpaid versions, etc. It's not that it is difficult, it's setting it up that is work, you need to find appropriate hosting with enough bandwidth and protection for the traffic you are expecting, set up a database, etc. Then I dabbled with PHPBB, that is a FREE, open source alternative, but people say it is vulnerable and can be exploited. I'm sure it has gotten better over the years, I've managed to set it up on one of those ad supported free hosting and set a database, and test it, and did so successfully. NOW there are turn key solutions for setting up forums, some hosting offer pre-made scripts you can set up in your account and all you would have to do is set up the forum parameters, etc. It's been a while, I'm familiar with vBulletin, PHPBB, and some with Zendesk. I liked some of the dark themes in vBulletin.

Quote:
This forum IS a type of vBulletin software, I think. It was reconfigured by one or more CS programmers, I think.

I do my own thinking. lol

Very unlikely - vBulletin was not open source at the time and don't think it is, it doesn't look to me like a vB, it looks extremely similar to PHPBB though, because I used both, and when I frst saw the forum on CS I thought iwas PHPBB, same look, same colours / themes, same layout. It's more likely that the forum was based on PHPBB, because it is free and base don open soruce, it can be legally modified and used - unlike vBulletin which is closed sourced :D

Good point you make about the "I'm not sure why" :D Yes Squid Games deserves awards on many levels, I almost ended up not watching it, I did not think I would like it, but I was wrong, it kept my interest from start to finish - the only thing there are some very odd scenes like the VIPs that visit to view a game and bet on it, some of these parts were just bad, also I am disappointed about one of the main characters that died in the end, the one who was the instigator of this game, I wanted to see more of him in season 2 :D But you know how sequels are a lot of the times sequel are not as good - I hope it will be just as good, with good twists, they say it will take at least 2 full years of production if not more, by that time we'll all be blown to smithereens  or they will ahve to make a Russian version because by then we'll all be speaking Russian  So I hope they release a sequel much sooner or just impress us with more series, oh yeah and that Zombies one all of us are dead, and alice in borderland, we need more of this kind of ocntent on Netflix, any good shows on streaming is great to keep our minds busy whilst we await our demise - keeps the soul busy :D

valerie wrote: My point with the color IS ClixSense.

Besides, old school color platforms were always rather dumb. Reminds me of boring neutral walls in a house. It's enough here to make one fall asleep.

This is how the "don't judge a book by its cover" started. A GPT can have an all text and ASCII interface for all I care - if it makes me $50 a day (just an example) over a site with a great interface that makes me $0 most days, guess which site I will prefer to be on. Sometimes old school is good - look at all the mangling of user interfaces in software over the years - it has gotten generally much worse - Facebook is one great example, people hate the new interface, it is HORRIBLE when compared to older interface - as far as this site if you saw the new interface on the other site I am on, it is horrible, compared to its old one. I call it the Vomit Theme  They should focus on surveys and earnings here first, colours last in my opinion. For forum, it should not be too hard to add additional CSS style themes members can choose from depending on taste. This forum looks very similar to what PHPBB looks like and its standard theme, do you remember if Jim designed this forum from scratch ? That would be crazy :D PHPBB is open source from what I remember, he probably used PHPBB or a modified version, so it should not be an issue adding CSS Themes.

When companies change their UI they make it worse, far worse............ Or they could go with vBulletin forum and a dark theme, it would be more fitting  vBulletin is great, but it's horribly expensive, and you would have to pay a licence for each site you use the script on, it's a rip-off. I've dabbled with both vBulletin and PHPBB in my gullible years with so much free time - it is amazing how much time it is to build a forum, maintain it, set it up properly, etc. I was going to experiment running a forum but never came to it in the end, I eventually became too busy with work and other, but it was a good experience - it's amazing all the options these forum scripts have, different colours and themes is one of them, letting each user select their preferred theme is the way to go - some people may not like being imposed colours - for some reason some people prefer darker themes and others lighter themes, fortunately windows lets you customise those to your liking :D

That's what they're all doing to get people to buy new computers.....outdating the updates to no updates.

I was never a fan of laptops - but things have gone a long way now, now you have really good laptops out there, powerful enough for artists, video editors, even gamers, it depends on your budget. Still not a fan of laptops  As far as Dell yeah not a fan either - for Laptops - I'm not a fan in general of pre-built systems, I've always built my own systems over the years from scratch, buying components and assembling, at least I know what I am getting. It's not uncommon to buy pre-made systems that seem to be a great bargain, but they are made with the cheapest, low-end components - which is the case with some of those cheap laptops, even mid ones. I've even heard someone working from Dell to even mention not to buy Dells :D

That's why my buy a lottery ticket comment in case you didn't catch - :P We've all made valid suggestions from year 1 - at this point you would have better odds of winning the KY state lotto - that's my point :D As far as changing the colours, well, nothing is wrong with the colours really, it's the content that matters - besides, you should see the user interface on the other site I am on, they changed it recently, it is far worse than before, it looks HORRIBLE, it looks like something a beginner would do on HTML, BUT they have content, LOTS of it, here we have a much better user interface, but little content or low quality content. They kept most of ClixSense intact, checklist bonus, forum, looks, adding PayPal and gift codes, and other cashout methods - since 2020 things went downhill, it's as if they receive poor quality inventory - surveys are mostly off quota here - this was never this bad before. You've given them enough suggestions of your own, I've given them names of suppliers and suggestions based on what works and proven, the thing is Prodege's flagship site is Swagbux - all their other sites they acquired inherited common core elements of SB, which are quite outdated IMO and due for a major overhaul - in coding world this takes a lot of time and resources - the designer of the initial site did not have future proofing in mind :D Surveys aside, just the fact they use denomination gift codes for CASH is totally ABSURD - gift codes is one thing, CASH is another, CASH should NOT use denominations, CASH is not a gift card - or if you use denominations at least add more than the $10, $25, and $100 ! Take another very old GPT that is still running strong, operating sine 2002, they offer gift cards and cash - for cash, the denominations is set at 0.01, so if you want to cash out $1, you would use 100 x 0.01, the process is very simple, and allows to mix denominations and gift codes together - this is called future proofing - it's unbelievable that a multi site operator with more resources and money did not think about that - they designed their redemption area for gift cards initially - so how can they fix this without a full recode ? In addition to the denominations available, add a 0.01 denomination and a text entry for cashout, ask the user how much they want to withdraw, with a minimum set at $5 instead of $10, and the program would convert this to the appropriate denomination - so for $5 it would be 50000 x 0.01  That in coding world is called a dirty hack - it's sloppy - ideally they should just remove PayPal and all CASH methods from the gift store, it has no place there, and add a separate redemption area for CASH, with either FULL withdrawal (most secure) or custom amount (used on many sites, but it less secure, though if done properly with the right checks, it is just as secure, as it is used by large GPTs now, without issue). Again I insist the method I suggested for the 0.01 denoms was tongue in cheek that is sloppy and I hope they don't take this seriously

Just allow us to cash out our balance without messing with gift code denoms, simple :D
