True, anything CAN be hacked, and you don't know for sure if your SS is encrypted or not, can't blame you, if it were my site and I knew web coding I'd make sure it is encrypted with my own proprietary encryption scheme :D

Though people already know your real name and DOB (your choice) someone's real name and DOB can do a lot of damage - I've made a huge mistake to use my real name on a forum in my gullible years (long story)

Sure anything can be hacked, even the government gets hacked, but if the data is secured and well protected, there is nothing much hackers can do - nobody will pay to purchase encrypted data on the dark web :P

but that list, you know the one you have, that sample list of unencrypted data :D well that sold for big money. and people who did not follow the news and immediately change their PW to their e-mails and payment processors, well, odds are, they ran into some problems  but that SAMPLE you got access to, anybody had access to, in the wrong hands, could be big trouble - you would be surprised some former members here and on other sites were involved in criminal activity online and fraudulent sites, there is a russian hacker who exposes scammers online on his youtube channel, and on one of these videos he showed folders of the scammer, and I think I recognised some users, some were working on TASKS here, appen, CrowdFlower, etc, well here I mean ClixSense, so obviously you didn't do anything malicious with this data Serbut I wouldn't be surprised if some bad members did bad things with it, I'd bet money on that. Seriously I think GPT should consider running background checks on their members  not that it will do any good !

Get used to the new reality, pretty soon you will see vending machine on every street corner, you will be able to get N95 masks, regular masks, vaccine booster self-kits, self-test kits, and dildos  There is no way the system can keep up with all the testing so we are heading towards a world of self-serve health care. I mean in Japan you can pretty much buy anything you can think of through vending machines, even your future wife

Yes as an IT person, this is how the original CS / Stormpay owner knew him and brought him over to CS - so it's safe to assume that Stormpay was insecure and stored data in plain text format, it would be kinda messed up if Stormpay was secure and CS not though

Quote:
Anything can be hacked. The most important thing in my opinion is to limit your risks.

That's not the point - sure anything can be hacked, but if your data is stored in plain text, that's really REALLY bad.
But if you hack and retrieve a database of encrypted and secured data, it's pretty much useless, there are clever uses of encryption to make it very difficult even with brute force - and you cannot sell a huge list of encrypted data on the dark web, but you can sell a huge list of millions of unencrypted data (that you had in your posession  or rather, a small sample of that). Some hackers will hack and brag, but there is not much they can do with all that encrypted data if it is properly and securely encrypted - on sites, like e-mail providers, passwords are not stored in the database, but rather their hash (the digest), but before, the password is salted (1 extra character appended at the end) then a digest is generated and that is stored. Are hackers gong to waste time brute forcing millions of highly encrypted data or are they going to target non secured data ? The answer is simple, and there are more non secure sites than you think.

Sure you could climb Mt. Everest, why not, just bring a good supply of oatmeal squares and some oxygen tanks along the way - it's on everyone's bucket list, who doesn't want to climb Mt. Everest - find some sponsors, the incentive, if you get to the top and still alive, you win a life's supply of Oatmeal square or anything oatmeal

Let us read , my dear , dear , very very dear friend predictions for future

Bill Gates has a warning for the world
Five years before the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, Bill Gates sounded the alarm on the next ‘global catastrophe’: a virus.

So ?Anybody could have predicted this - it is statistically relevant - I mean we had pandemics before, we were not born, but there was the Spanish Flu and other smaller pandemics, so statistically it is easy to predict "eventually there will be a pandemic", it's like making a prediction "I predict there will be snow within the next 10 days" :P
Bill Gates predicted COVID19 vaccines would have 90%+ efficacy...... Easy prediction to make when he has vested interests in the big pharmas, and when he has privileged data that is not yet released, this was not a prediction but rather based on data, he knew Moderna was working on an mRNA vaccines, and mRNA produces higher efficacy compared to viral vector and other types of vaccines, so he's no ********* psychic  He said we'd have a vaccine before the year end - AGAIN easy prediction to make, mRNA vaccines take much less time to produce, why ? Because the actual vaccine is your own body's cells producing it, all you are receiving is the RNA temporary "CODE" that goes into your cells, to instruct your body to produce the spike protein. So it's a prediction easy to make when you have privileged information.

Quote:
He's now warning the world to brace itself for pandemics worse than the current one.

ahahaha good one - he's not giving a date for that, again this is like me saying "Brace yourself, there will be a nasty hurricane" sure, statistically there will be. Same for pandemics, statistically, we WILL have pandemics, we live in a world full of viruses in the wild, anyone of those viruses can leap to humans, and given how negligent humans are, it's easy to make predictions there will be worse pandemics, given past and present data, he's not a psychic, he's just making educated predictions based on history and facts.......as opposed to some quack making random predictions.

Quote:
In an effort to radically reduce the time taken to produce a vaccine to within 100 days, The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovation (CEPI) is trying to raise US$3.5 billion (AU$4.8 billion).

Another joke - yeah 100 days is a little over 3 months - it's still too much - because now with highly infectious variants it means larger waves, it means massive volume of cases, and the more volume the faster the virus will mutate, so new variants to come out at a faster pace - a pace that vaccines cannot keep up with, it's almost as if, the more vaccines are given, the more the virus fights to remain on top. SO yeah, by the time Moderna and Pfizer make a new vaccine, a new variant will already be out - so vaccines can no longer be a good option to PREVENT infection, but the vaccines do remain important however, because they still give you strong protection against severe symptomatic infections that may send you to the hospital or KILL you - so vaccines are not totally useless, they just don't stop infection or spread, because new variants come out faster. If they can develop new variant vaccines in as little as 10 days that would be nice  So Bill Gates$ should invest in other stuff instead of vaccines, COVID is here to stay, instead he should invest in anti-virals, that you can inhale through your nose, it seems this is the future, we'll all be snorting COVID anti-viral up our noses - better than swallowing suppository sized pills though, but it seems antivirals may offer SOME hope after all - the whole getting booster shots has done my nut in - as has this pandemic, so the future - sachets of antiviral powder for COVID, with different flavours, including cherry, blueberry, strawberry and lemon/lime, inhale through nostrils 3 times a day for 5 days at first onset of symptoms. There is no anchovies flavour unfortunately, so I'll go for cherry !

Quote:
To this end Gates urged governments around the world to contribute billions of dollars to prevent the spread of future pandemics which could include fatalities far worse than the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sure let's spend billions even trillions more than we have already spent. What can I say, the only thing I have to say about Billy's speech:
Is this a new Bernie Sanders in the making ? :P

Sure let's print more money, let's see in a few years inflation will be at 40% year to year, nice - so the price of everything will nearly double every 2 years. NICE. so that bag of jelly beans will cost you 80 cents instead of 40, even the price of ramen noodles will go up - watch out what's his name here I forgot, the ramen noodles guy, I forgot his name, maybe the old timers can remember, better stash on those noodles :D he went from hoarding noodles to hoarding cryptocurrency, - I loved reading his posts :D

Arvind9 wrote: Stealth Omicron new Omicron variant emerges is spreading rapidly in the UK INDIA and couple of other European countries creating fears of a larger wave

This is a sub-variant of Omicron called B.A.2 - I don't think people should panic - there is fear mongering but little data yet, this may be good news - here's why - This sub-variant of Omicron could be even MORE infectious than B.A.1,
however, it is very likely that future variants will be less and less severe BUT more infectious, so this means more people will get infected, by severity will be unchanged, this could mean also BIGGER waves, BUT shorter ones too, unfortunately, the bad news, because of higher volume, it will mean more deaths and more hospitalisations, BUT not because the variant is more severe, it is less, but more volume = hospital and more death, simple math.

It's likely this new sub-variant will infect more of the population particularly those who have not been vaccinated and those who have not been infected yet, I'm pretty sure there will be good cross immunity for those already infected or have been infected with B.A.1 Omicron. This new sub-variant could mean eventually a large number of the population will get infected, this would be a better alternative to vaccines, and more likely to reach some sort of herd immunity OR good protection from severe cases - though it's clear no vaccine or anything can protect you against the infection itself, and the vaccine's booster doses increase neutralising immunity for a short period of time, but for severity, it provides long term protection.

Before people PANIC they should get ALL the facts and data, yes the new sub-variant could be even more infectious than original Omicron, but so far it appears not to be more severe. Instead of rushing to trying to lock down people or making new vaccines or boosters they should revamp the health care system and capacity because we could be in this situation of large waves of COVID for a long time, locking down, closing, etc will not stop the virus anymore, but we are going to keep wearing masks for a long time to come :D but no matter what, statistically we will ALL get infected with COVID19 sooner or late,r it's not IF but WHEN, these new variants will be come far more infectious, BUT if there is one positive side, is that they will be less severe.

The concern here should not be about the variant, but rather, health care that is NOT prepared to deal with these scenarios - because with new variants we'll definitely see huge numbers and rise of cases - most of which will be mild, BUT the problem is because of the volume you will see higher hospitalisations and deaths, which the system is not meant to handle at that capacity.

SO there are 2 options - 1) Revamp the health care and be prepared for future waves or 2) Use the full military resources and invoke war measures, strict curfew, rationing, mandatory testing and reporting, mandatory quarantine and mandatory full on lock down for 1 FULL year, then you will see real results - note I did not include mandatory vaccination because that would be useless, vaccines save lives and buys time, but it does not stop viruses from spreading, ask Mr. Influenza, and other lingering viruses :P

SO before the mass hysteria stats, let's wait and see, gotta love those fear mongering "scientists" suggesting that the new strain get its own Greek alphabet  Remember my predictions a few months ago, I said there will be a Sigma variant - maybe I was right .......... and to all the charlatans and QUACKS online who have been preaching that the pandemic is over, shame on you, the whole lot, for 6 months to 1 year now I've been seeing all those claims. The only claims that are right is that the new variants will be milder, yet more infectious, but we are far from the endemic stage of the pandemic yet, so my suggestion for invoking war measures might be the best solution - people are too "entitled" and invoke their rights and freedom, well they can stick that where the moon doesn't shine and put it aside momentarily, because drastic measures need to happen against exceptional circumstances - and which politician has the bollocks to do the right thing for a change and stop thinking about their re-election !

Really ? more like Sugar Kick  Always makes me laugh when I see those so-called healthy alternatives, those bars with the nice logos - truth is, they contain too much sugar - don't get me wrong they are tasty - I love oatmeal, but have you ever tried eating oatmeal plain without ANY sugar - OK I have I'm used to drinking my tea or coffee without sugar,
but it's hard to avoid sugar, nothing like a good apple custard cinnamon pie or blueberry pastry :D Rule of thumb, anytime you see the word "kick" in a product, that's another word for "sugar". Anytime you see a company write "50% less sugar" it means still too much sugar. 50% less fat means still too much fat. Made with real oatmeal, means it actually contains 1% oatmeal :P

One thing I have completely dropped - dark sodas, but they make amazing toilet bowl cleaners still - but the only thing I drink now is plain sparkling water, to which I can enhance with my own natural flavours, lime, orange, mango or anchovies, nothing like anchovy sparkling water ! One can enjoy the foods they like, just limiting the net carbs intake and favouring foods rich in fibre. I try to limit my net carbs intake below 150g a day - Most Americans consume 400g-600g :P You would be surprised on all the tasty foods you can eat on 150g a day, even the sweet stuff :D

Some of these "health bars" contain 50%-80% the daily recommended intake, I'd never manage with only one bar, I'd probably be able to eat entire boxes :P There was a time in my life where I could do that, in fact there was a time I could eat anything and not gain a single pound - Think it was summer camp, had 22 large thick pancakes for breakfast, 15 large BBQ'ed hamburgers for dinner, dozen eggs, buckets of fries and everything else good in between, I was healthy and did not gain a single pound, but I was very active in those years though, very :D Now I gain a pound every minute I stare at a box of pancakes!

What about other GPTs, do they do the same ? What if a GPT had their head office in the UK or another country as an example, there might be clever ways for GPTs to avoid having to request this information.

Quote:
ClixSense did the same. ClixSense did not have enough security in place.

Yeah we'll never forget that one - or ANY security for that matter  Plain text is no security, I mean I'm not a WEB coder, Jim was, but I could write code from scratch to encrypt data with proprietary encryption schemes, without using a single library - so I'm sure CS could have easily managed to do so on the web side, so yeah I still love CS, because when I joined CS I never expected data security to begin with, remember the moment you connect to the internet, the notion of security goes down the toilet what I didn't see coming is CS being hacked and making the news around the world as if WW3 has begun

Quote:
In fact, when I first logged into ClixSense under Jim, I saw the full SS numbers displayed. I contacted him immediately about that and they updated so only the last 4 numbers of the ss displayed. That insecurity was the worst part of the data breach and what really got CS in trouble.

I've done my homework - you would be shocked at how many big companies had / have this same breach of security, it's not only CS, but it was discovered that other big providers with hundreds of millions of customers were using plain text !!! it cannot get any worse than that :P There is an AMAZING op code that is there to allow bits to be manipulated at machine code speed - that simple XOR command, all you do is build clever algorithms around it to make complex keys, then salt your passwords. I dunno if it is that easy in web coding, but I'm sure web coders have access to libraries too - it can be done in C++ from scratch, I used to do that stuff even in BASIC and 6502 assembly :D
It's just unbelievable that coming from a person in the IT field, that he would not protect his site. It's very obvious that the CS hack was an inside job, by inside I mean former disgruntled members - one of those members made an extension to cheat advertisers and click ads for you, guess he was banned, and I'm pretty sure banned cheaters were part of the whole scheme, but here's the interesting part - CS was hacked in 2016 - it still recovered from it and lasted 3 more years and things were great - I think what got CS the most bad press is its affiliate levels program - even though it was 100% legal - some people referred to it as a ponzi scheme, I guess these people never heard of BUX sites :P

Headline: "THE WORLD RACES TO VACCINATE AGAINST COVID-19"

(It's all caps, because I copied and pasted the headline exactly as printed on the web site.

The world "RACES" what a gigantic joke ! Too little too late I think, to get a vaccine that is so weak and was meant for the original strain, barely protects you against variants. Here's the problem, 1 dose does not protect you against Omicron, 2 doses still doesn't, the 3rd dose boosts your protection against infection up to 80-88%, so look how long it will take before people get their 3 doses, and variants to come out in between - it's clear vaccines are useless now, they cannot keep up with the pace new variants and hospitalisations - though these vaccines will just buy time and save some lives, but they won't save the health care that is in crisis. and then what, after 2-3 months your protection drops by 50% or more, and by 6 months, down to 0% ? Infections will continue, but you will still have some protection against severe forms, BUT given sheer volume of infections, it will NOT save hospitals and funeral homes from getting too much work. Vaccines alone are not the solution.

Quote:
USA will be giving free N masks too.

How nice of Mr. sinking ship Joe Biden - who promised he would crush the virus and get America out of this crisis, blasting his predecessor - and now that he lost control of the situation he wants to give out 400 million N95 masks, no strings attached (well you know what I mean  ).

But here's the problem Mr. Biden, it's highly recommended not to reuse N95 masks, and at most, for light use you may get away with using it a few times, 4-5 times, BUT, what next, this will give a false sense of hope to Americans, most of which may not know when it is time to throw it out - each time you reuse the mask you weaken the stretch, so it does not have a good seal as before, you may also compromise the filtering, if it gets touched, rubbed, stained, etc........... so what will those N95 do, since a limited number is offered, what next ? How many Americans even know how to PROPERLY fit a mask - this is yet another of Biden's ridiculous spending that will achieve absolutely NOTHING. You can get comparable protection by wearing TWO regular masks, properly fit, I mean not an N95 but much better protection than a single mask. 2 x 3 pli masks should do the trick, but 1 x N95 reused multiple times will be worse !

Why not leave those N95 masks for health care workers who are in contact with a much larger viral load.

Instead, Biden should put his money where it matters - FREE Paxlovid for all Americans. It's 3 pills a day for 5 days, I believe there are 2 other pills you take with Paxlovid - so FREE basically (well not exactly, but he can use tax dollars, something he's very good at - only this would be more relevant and help reduce hospitalisations and deaths, not the bloody N95 masks.

In Canada, we're almost bankrupt and reached 4t world status, and yet Paxlovid when it becomes available here will be offered through each province's public medical insurance, funded by tax dollars :D

More utter BS and nonsense in the news today, the ship is sinking, what's the solution to end this pandemic ?
We will have to learn to live with the virus, it will eventually become endemic, BUT before it gets there, EVERYONE will get COVID19, there is no way around it, eventually the variants will be so contagious that everyone will get it, like the cold, so until then, what needs to be done is a massive reform of the health care system - get creative and build hospitals or assign areas where they can open beds for COVID patients, and find ways to stop clogging hospitals, by only admitting severe cases, and the rest can be followed-up virtually - or something, or better yet, make wide use of those anti-virals across the country - this weak half arsed vaccine will not work anymore, you need booster shot after booster shot to replenish your neutralising antibodies - those long term T cells only protect you against severe symptoms, not against getting infected, and trying to make new vaccines for new variants is an utter waste of time, because by the time they are released, a new variant already comes out.

Besides, in the coming weeks, cases will drop in most states, and eventually hospitalisations will drop, but still remain high, there will never be a drop to 0 cases........and by late spring and summer we will have forgotten about Omicron, until the new variant comes out in autumn called Spaghetti, the new COVID variant with 350 mutations, this one will be a huge one - it will render vaccines, booster sots useless - but hopefully Paxlovid will still work, because those anti-virals STOP an important process which allows for the RNA code to be executed and the virus to replicate.
Why didn't Pfizer think about that in the first place, instead of their vaccines - well they made trillions of $ from a vaccine that is now weak and now they will make trillions from something that may help save more lives, BUT the good news is, it will not end the pandemic, so it's residual income for them and more ways to part of our money.

Very clever accounting tricks  but US members would be punishing themselves by doing that, I see US members earn thousands of $ monthly from surveys on other GPT sites that have a huge list of routers to work from, it's unbelievable when I see those lists, I'm sure your SS and other private info are safe here, besides they have your real name and home address and DOB, so I'm pretty sure that they do not store personal data in plain text format or do they ? I don't know why Prodege would ask for a SSN - did CS ask for one ? PayPal automatically reports your earnings to the IRS after $600 - have you ever asked Prodege or anyone here why they ask for a SSN ?

Yep there was a psychologist/scientist that said we are all from 'The Brain'. It's 'the brain' theory. He said there is only one brain and we are all a product of it.

That theory is silly - so if we are one brain, then where are we , what is keeping it alive ? WHO CREATED that single brain, who built the lab it is in, the same for life is a computer simulation :D So we have ONE creator God, playing The SIMS to keep himself busy ? :D

I do wish that brain would make me a bit thinner as I am getting a little wide around the middle.

Cut the ding-dongs and some carbs

Reminds me of a blind date I was to go on back in 1972. I'm sure he thought I was going to arrive and I wonder if he is still waiting......hmmm maybe he figured out I passed him by.

If he is there still waiting then that's commitment for you. So you ditched your blind date, maybe he figured it was normal he didn't see you arrive, after all, it's a blind date  But here is the twist, you did not show up, but he ended up finding a date that night - they got married, had 8 children :D

So yeah with technology we can see disaster and impending doom from outer space years before the event, but will we do anything about it ? Well, nope. We saw a pandemic come and were warned by experts, a decade or so in advance, you would think we had all this time to prepare and deal with it, apparently not - on this planet, people dismiss any warning - people rater read the news about potential planets in our solar system and outside of it, cool new planet names, and UFO stories, whilst people are starving and dying of hunger and disease on 2/3 of the planet's surface 1

Yes survey invites are coming alright - but a lot of them are off quota, what I noticed is that the same invites keep coming back - once a survey is off quota and clicked on it should not come back, it's annoying and frustrating and over inflates invites for nothing.
Peanut Labs has been hit and miss, too many off quota, BUT snagged a few surveys so far this year, though not as good as last year's beginning, but we'll see. Got my first 2 digit day today in a long time, in 2 years maybe :D
