So, I not too long ago received some email out of the blue. It claims an elderly couple, Allen and Violet, are giving away money out of their 11.3 million that they won in July 2010 by playing the Canadian lotto game, Lotto 6-49. After looking into it and researching (Google is a beautiful thing), the couple did, in fact, give away a lot of money to charities and families, but now con artists are using this to goad people into their scam operation, wanting you to send them money before the money is sent to you. Now remember, there is NO such thing as paying for something you're already owed. Here is the message:
Why do people seriously do this? This is just so disgusting. The real Violet actually died. I Mean, I know better than to ever believe this, but there are vulnerable people out there that will fall for this shameful scam. It seems to be progressively ongoing too, because many people are filing complaints to the news station that aired the story about Allen and Violet's winnings. But anyway, moral of the this posting is that everyone should stay clear of this email. If you see it in your inbox, click delete!
