It is the same in the film industry - men get all the gratification of seeing naked ladies, but heaven forbid they put a naked man on the screen. Sex scenes are predominantly filmed by men for the male audience. It is the insecurity of the male of the species that drives sexism.

I am reading The Da Vinci code for the second time and I am intrigued by symbology - I find it amazing that displayed on my keyboard are the arrow symbols for left, right, an arrow symbol that points upwards ^ = masculine, but no female equivalent - well there is, but it is well hidden LOL.

Its actually a huge part of our history - the poem was banned at the time for fear of social unrest. I understand what you mean, it does go on a bit, I think there are 19 verses or something like that - but this is because Shelley used the verses to shame individual Government Ministers who had ordered the cavalry to go in and disperse the peaceful demonstrators.

I only learned of the poem as an adult, as far as I know it was never taught in schools. On the anniversary local actors from Manchester read out the names of the many who were murdered.

In response to your first question, Jeremy Corbyn definitely IS the best thing to happen to the British Left Wingers, but certainly not the Labour Party. His appointment to Labour leader will result in the same stale, unelectable Labour Party as when Neil Kinnock was leader and no doubt for the same duration.

In reply to your second post, I have as much of a problem with my local Government as I do with national government. I also think there should be more powers at local level such as Parish Councils. Where I live we are being denied this very right by our Borough's autocratic leader who is clearly fearful of losing power. Local Authorities have become too big in my opinion - many millions is raised in Council Tax from my town, but very little is ploughed back - instead it is lavished on the larger town that bears the Borough's name - thus we feel no benefit.

There are hundreds of thousands of people homeless in the UK, and many more besides on the waiting list for social housing - but these will all be ignored in favour of the tens of thousands of so called refugees that Angela Merkel dictates that we should take

UKIP is the only party that appeals to me.
