I'm old enough to remember cigarette machines in hospitals and the selling of cigarettes in
the hospital gift shop.

Also, I can remember sitting at the nurses station smoking a cigarette. Visitors, patients, etc
would come up to the nurses station and we'd be smoking. Doctors, nurses, everyone smoked
right at the nurses station.

I am trying really hard to remember patients smoking in their rooms and I don't think they could
ever do that.

It was about 1990, I would say, when America really began cracking down on eliminating smoking
from inside businesses. The hospital I worked at, stopped allowing smoking inside....about.....I
think 1993. It was kind of funny because what they did was place a huge tent up on the large patio.
The patio had multiple sitting and often hospital employees would take their food out there to eat, etc.
So then at some point, the hospital put up the big tent and said you can only smoke inside the tent.
You didn't need a cigarette if you went in the tent because it was like walking into a fog....just inhale.

Yeah true

Seen some old tv clips from back in the 70's and 80's where everyone smoked as it was just as normal as drinking tap water.

And some of those old american cigarette commercial's are also fun to watch, I'f you didn't smoke you wer'e almost a complete douchebag, everyone smoked happily without concern :D

It's a good story and one of those rare ones.

Normally the staff are so busy and over-stressed as Our politician's are running the hospitals like factories.

Alcohol is a completely normal thing on Danish hospital's and you will often see one of the nurses with a bottle of bacardi, Even the surgeon won't operate without at least 3 shot's of whiskey and often end's up in a brawl with one of the patient's relatives. In the hospital stores cigarettes are selling so well that they had to make a special arrangement with the Danish tobacco company Prince and certain Polish cigarette smugglers just too keep up with demand.

Danish hospital's = Happy hour, Every hour

I'm fine with Homeopathy as long as it's used as a last resort, And not a substitute for actual treatment.

I think most people do use it that way, Even the good Mr Jobs.

And what the H... is GOOG :?:

A lot of the commercials are focused on health. Many pharmaceutical commercials.
It's a hodge podge of most everything. Department store commercials, automobiles,
tech, new movie, etc etc etc and on and on and on and on.

PS. We don't have gambling commercials on tv but rarely and most of what there is
is to play the state lottery or to visit a casino river boat.

Really?, Are Gambling commercials on tv not legal in the states :?:

In Danish tv, Nearly the whole commercial block is about Sportsbetting or casino's, And i'm not even exxagerating.

i do like the Fast and Furious films,,,comon Van Diesel you hunky thing :D

Yes, Irritating when you miss certain episodes.

But it dosn't matter with this series, As all episodes are stand alones.

Fast and furious was ok until i've watched the 2nd, To many sequels with the same plot for my taste :D

Black mirror is 1 hour movies, And not a series.

Gambling commercial's are out of control, Nearly 80% of the entire ads are about sports-betting or casino gambling (Uuugh)

And those stereotypes they use  , Rest of the commercials are for loaning companies, Makes sense cause they gambled all their money away :D

One should think that it's exactly what the government want's, People with debt works harder to pay it off, Then they can take a new loan to pay of the other one.

Round and round it goes.

Speaking of Sci-fi i've just finished watching the brittish tv series "Black mirror", And i can strongly reccommend watching it.

It's set in the near future and gives us a glimpse of how the technology and social media (Maybe :D ) will advance.

It has a score of 8.9 on Imob, Pretty different from other sci-fi series, But still manages to be entertaining.

Here's a a brief synopsis of the very first episode.

In the run-up to Christmas the British Prime Minister Michael Callow is woken up and shown a disturbing video. On it he sees that people's princess Susannah of Beaumont has been abducted and will allegedly be murdered unless he has sex with a pig on live television. An effort to trace the kidnapper on a deserted campus proves to be in vain and Michael dismisses his aides' suggestion that a porn star perform the bestiality with the PM's face digitally superimposed. News coverage and Internet tweeters go into overdrive as Michael ultimately does his duty, in a deserted room with one camera man and a seemingly contented pig. Despite being ordered not to look, millions of people tune in though their amusement soon turns to horror at what they see.

All the episodes are different stories

It is not a huge secret when I was a bit younger I got assaulted by three guys,I simply defended myself, and I was the one who got arrested..go figure.

That sounds pretty unfair to me.

Doing the right thing, But still a lawbreaker ;)
