Do u like pizza? » Post #11

£17.50.

Let me say it one more time for emphasis.

£17.50.

I used to like pizza, but not after buying one for £17.50.

Wouldn't even be surprised if that was the cost of a 4 slice pizza nowadays.

Would take a ride on Self Driving car, taxi, bus » Post #6

tasman1 wrote: That crap will come to Tasmania in 100 or 200 years , We are very primitive here .... train , what is train , no train here , never seen that in my life .....

maybe self driving donkey will be good for Tasmania

I'm pretty sure an ass....sorry, donkey already 'drives' itself.

As for the question, I would not ride in any self driving vehicle. Those things could easily malfunction or possibly be "taken over" so that not even the car is in control....with someone else accessing it remotely....that can already be done now.... but it kind of seems more lethal when you're not in control to start with, call me paranoid maybe or just safety concious. :silent:

I remember on the news, something about a self driving car crash involving an Uber....so yeah. Plus it don't take much to turn a steering wheel, press pedals and move a clutch and such around. It's a pointless idea to me, some things are fine as they are, quit changing them to make them more "futuristic"

Got myself in a pickle with my desktop. » Post #7

My OS is XP. i do have Windows 7 but then I lose all my programs that were digital downloads. I have 3x4 shortcuts on my screen so no can do. System Restore stopped working. I think my motherboard is going or else the hard drive. Things are so slow to load. It's like being back in the days of DSL. I can't watch videos on the desktop because of them stopping and starting, jerky sound.

I started using my laptop more often but yesterday I got a third reminder from Windows10 that there's an update so I thought being the weekend, I'd do the update. Well, it was strange. I got a blue screen with the question of which keyboard I was using and all different countries, choose US, then I got nothing. Black screen. No internet, no desktop program shortcuts, just the recycle bin, which didn't work. i shut it down and restarted. It said "HI" and then asked for my country keyboard, then black screen again. I can't get anywhere. I restarted and hit F2, checked the info there and everything is the same but I still have nothing. I'm bummed because that was my backup. Last thing I did on there was CS videos.

So, I'm really up the creek and don't know what to do. I can't afford another computer nor can I afford professional help. Last time I used professional help, it was to set up Windows 7 on the laptop and it cost me $140. My really old computer needs a power supply and I could use my son's computer that he gave me but it wouldn't let him change the size of the monitor screen (he used it to hook up to a TV). So I'm stuck.

Any cheap suggestions? :)

I think the problem with the laptop is the Windows 10 update, for whatever reason....it seems to make Windows glichy and not work correctly when you update from a previous version. Just Google it and you'll see what I mean. It sounds like you should try and boot the computer from a CD and reinstall an older version of Windows.

Here in the South (Tennessee) where I live, we use Tomato Juice.

Does it even work? Apparently it just masks the smell slightly.

The new eau de parfum huh? Fresh tomato with hints of clove, coriander, cinnamon and a faint aroma of skunk.

I'm sorry, but this made me laugh. I'm sure it really did stink.

Even though you probably did bathe in ketchup, it's kind of common sense that this is likely a screening question 'cause it's not really a topic survey providers want your opinion about so isn't a 'qualifying' question, select no even if you have.

It's been fun, sort of.

My time with Cs is done, not been around here earning for a long time and unlikely to be for personal reasons.

Good luck all on your cent making journeys. ;) :)
