You may not know yet but the KLFC in my username represents Kings Langley Football Club, a village team in Hertfordshire, England.
After two years of successful promotions in the league, we have reached Step 4 of the non-league pyramid for the first time in our history (since 1886).
To compare, in England we have the Premiership (Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd etc...), then the Championship, then League 1, then League 2, then National (Conference) League Premier (Step 1 non-league), then National (Conference) League North & South (Step 2), then Step 3, then us!! We are FOUR promotions away from becoming a football league team!!
Last week, we draw our first ever game at this level, during the week we lost a game, but today we won away at Chalfont St Peter FC who were joint top of the league. The game finished 3-2 to us, our first ever win at Step 4... and to top it all our winner was a 65-70 yard screaming free-kick from Danny May.
A little bit of history was made today... and we hope the success continues.
