Sunday, she was walking a little, walked at least 15 feet sat down, and let out 3 loud meows again. .After that, she seemed normal. She walked fine but a little later, started walking in circles, then would lay down. We kept her in a very large dog carrier overnight and she did pee but nothing else.

We let her out and she seemed fine at first, but during the day, she would watch our feet and my cane then follow the feet. She was in the house all day. No messes but wherever she lay down, she stayed until we walked over to her; then she would get up and follow our feet, head down, again. It's like she's partially blind. I hope not. I hope it's just because she's still weak.

We finally got some smelly fish and some milk into her. We're hoping she will do her business today. I fed her the fish twice yesterday, just small amounts, and put some in the carrier last night. She's skin and bones. I can feel every bone in her spine and her hips. But she's now meowing to us and I have some hope.

Hubby was so heartbroken because she had become a large part of his life. Me? She would bug me all day and try to trip me by flopping down in front of me. But I miss that! :) Keeping our fingers crossed.

I think You should call to vet, not sure how it works in US, i live in UK and here i am registered to mobile vet, where i can call emergency even in Sundays, etc and she can come into my flat, it is less stressful for the cat, especially if he/she hate travelling like my Hunter...

She was fine Thursday night. Jumped up on the bed with me and half hour later got down. Walked to the hallway and let out a loud meow. After that she barely moved. She would get up and walk a few steps, then lay down again. When I woke Friday morning, she was by the front door. She messed on the rug but it wasn't messy. She has not eaten or drank anything since. She went totally "comatose" for 2 days. Today she's walking a few steps, then lays down. She doesn't meow. She won't eat. She won't drink anything. I can feel her hip bones already. When she does walk, it's in very slow motion. We tried chicken broth, water, milk, hamburger (cooked of course), chicken, etc. Nothing. I miss her talking to me and even miss her trying to trip me by flopping down in front of me on her side for petting. She seems to be in a lot of pain. She hid under the oil burner last night and wouldn't come in the house when I called her. I used to go out and yell, "Where ya at Runt?" and she'd come running. :( Husband, who doesn't like cats, is heartbroken too, because she would sit with him on the floor at night when watching TV.

I can't afford a vet. The neighbor said he took his dog to the vet and they charged $2700 to start...didn't guarantee that would be the total cost. We live on $900 a month. Runt was a feral. Mom, also feral, is fine.

I understand You very well, I also live with my partner and cat and we live on much less... it seems that vet costs are expensive everywhere but that sum that You said is incredible high. We adopted a 2 years old ginger male directly from other family where he been abused and at the beginning I have been 4 times in vet with him (neutering, 2 control visits and then a visit to only have prescribed spot on for fleas and parasites) and every time i paid between £70-£100...depending if we needed medications or only visit...I dont know how much is for blood tests, serious operation but for neutering operation i paid £86.

1. These symptoms seems to me like she might be poisoned...? If that is the case, am afraid that without vet it will be hard to keep her alive :( especially that she doesnt drink and eat, which can be very dangerous long term :(

2. Maybe You used any anti flea spot-on on her recently? Sometimes it can be dangerous as some cats tend to have allergic reactions or were overdosed. If You did gave her any spot on or other medication, could You please give the names of them?

3. Or she could catch any cat virus, that would somehow explain not having appetite and laying down most of the time ? If she dont eat, she has no energy to stand up and walk, i think that a drip would be crucial in her case at the moment...

Your problem with a kitty really touched me because i love cats and animals in general and it sad to me... in my opinion she really is in danger state right now...i am worry about her kidneys (no drinking, no peeing) esp. that cats has sensitive kidneys to dehydration and poisoning...they almost always end up with kidney failure :(

My point is that the people most likely to be growing all their own food and experimenting with this sort of thing tend to be the new age hippy end of the Green party who also jump on all the latest health trends. Organic is magically better, even when it isn't, and you should eat as many antioxidants as you should, etc. As part of the new age hippy end of the Green party myself, I'd also point out it's a generalisation.

If you're not thinking about your antioxidants, you're fine. You've got plenty of wiggle room. On the other hand, if you're deliberately taking supplements, and already trying to maximise them in your diet, then the changes hydroponics can bring to any given plant could well be the straw that breaks the camels back.

Totally agree, i even watching a youtube video right now about the new age movement, what a coincidence! I also don't believe in these superfoods, new trends about health and lifestyle.
I was thinking about growing some lettuces and herbs indoor and the reason why I want to invest in small hydroponic system such as MiracleGro is because i believe at the end it will be much cheaper than buying small bunch of dill and parsley for over £1 each every day, which i can eat in one seating. I'm definitely old-fashioned and don't want to support anything, which can bring us closer to NWO, which is btw inevitable in my opinion but that's another topic...
Anyway, thanks for explaining how antioxidants works, I was not aware that if eaten in excess, they can cause more damage than good...

BouldRake wrote: See this paper.

Essentially, you need a chain reaction. One type of antioxidant donates an electron to a free radical, and that makes the free radical less reactive.

The antioxidant is now reactive itself, and needs a donated electron from another antioxidant, and so on, each time becoming less reactive.

But if you get a whole bunch of the same antioxidant from a supplement or a "super food", this doesn't happen - so the antioxidants themselves become reactive, which is the exact opposite reason people take them.

But worse, free radicals send a "signal" to a cell to create it's own antioxidants...and if you're swarming with too many you've got from elsewhere, this never happens. Your body doesn't produce it's own antioxidants, which both prevents this same reaction happening, and also negates any benefit of exercise.

Or in a nutshell, the body is complicated - you need to get the balances right, you can't just throw stuff at it and hope it gets enough of everything.

Thanks, it does make sense to me, I don't take and I don't like any supplements but eating all different kind of fruits and veggies (a lot) daily shouldn't hurt right? :)

Yes, and no - for the average consumer, it's not an issue. However, I'm thinking in terms of somebody growing all (or most) of their own food.

The kind of people who do that also tend to follow the trendy health folk wisdom of the day - which is to eat as many anti-oxidants as you possibly can, which kills you much faster than not eating enough of them.

Quote:Sugar in fruit is not the same as refined sugar in processed foods

Again, I'm thinking of someone growing all their own food. But I'll give you that one - as long as you're not living off mostly-fruit, fructose isn't a problem unless you're extracting it and adding it to other things.

Quote:People growing their own fruits and veggies, are they doing this because it is healthier or because it is cheaper in the long run ? or because it is a hobby and they have nothing else to do.

Because we're filthy hippies who don't want to give money to megacorporations

Hello,
Can i ask why do You think too much antioxidants can kill? I am extremely interested in growing my own food and consider to buy MiracleGro because i dont have a space outside to make a garden. Would appreciate Your answer as i see You have big knowledge and i am person who really want to take care of my and my family health. Thanks in advance :)

This is Hunter :)
My sweetheart...he is 2 years old and I have him 10 weeks now. I adopted him directly from the previous owner as he wanted to get rid of Hunter and i fell in love with this cat so much that i took him straight away so we all avoided stress without going to cat shelter, etc....I can't imagine my life now without this cute boy :)

Wed Sep 21, 2016 17:22 in General Talk

I earn between $8 - $12 daily (average amount of surveys: 6-15, I don't do tasks) but in weekends much less, Saturday around $3-5 and Sunday if lucky maybe 2 offers but mostly nothing, just the bonus from the checklist from previous day. :)

I hope CS will fix this soon

I had this problem but now i can do surveys, the issue is i did 2 and any of them was confirmed and credited :( seems like it is waste of time until it will be properly fixed i think?

Co to ma znaczyć ? » Post #17

Ja zostalam zablokowana na Your Survey rowno 2 tygodnie temu. Mialam score 377 i w trakcie robienia ankiety zgasl mi chromebook bo mam z nim problemy i mi sie sam wylacza.
