Major game developers Activision/Blizzard has come under heavy fire after banning and taking away the prize money from a Chinese contestant after he expressed his support of liberation of Hong-kong and the protest going on at the moment. Reason for the ban was that he violated their rules according to Blizzard themselves, But truth is that A Chinese company owns 25% of the stocks in Activision, And if Activision don't bow to the Chinese Government they will lose a lot of money. AND THAT'S ALL THAT COUNTS FOR THESE GREEDY BASTARDS, Activision is an American company and should defend freedom of speech and not oppress it for the sake of money
And remember!!, Greed knows no boundaries
After Hearthstone player’s ban, Blizzard is in hot water with lawmakers - The Verge
I don't know whether talking about politics in this forum is allowed.
I will share my opinion.
I agree with free speech, but there should be a bottom line.
HongKong is part of China, and this is the line.
Hearthstone and NBA are both games. The game has rules, you have to obey.
Outside the game, players should also follow some rules, I mean, local laws.
For Americans: To support NBA is to support Morey is to support freedom of speech.
For Chinese:To support NBA is to support Morey is to support Hong Kong independence.
Well, Is independence in Hong Kong equal to freedom of expression?
Of course not.
But some people believe this.
No , it is not allowed to talk politics (or religion) in the forum.
That forum rule was introduced not too long ago , because there was a lot of trouble in the forum because of this.
People threw stones at each other here … so it can cook up pretty quickly if they don't keep track of the pot.
You know , milk just boils over when you don't see it.
