yep i agree,i love getting my hands terribly dirty too :D im lucky coz i live in a rural area where theres nothing around apart from green land and trees,my own back garden well its pretty big, driveway is bricked but i got tons of area fo growing decent crops,i already have around 34/40 fruit trees or more,i mentioned em all in a previous post.

now i just planted some seeds of various veg, aubergines, tomatoes, chillies, courgettes ,okra, cabbage.
coz the heat is so intense here and the seeds are from homebase UK, :D i wonder if they will ever see the light of day

but being the persistent and determined person i am,i have to try and find out for myself....will let you know as soon as some decent progress is made...fingers/toes crossed.

Life after death » Post #2

Thu May 11, 2017 03:21 in General Talk

Jews,Christians and Muslims believe in life after death, heaven and earth..........that's one of the pillars of our faiths,,its mentioned in the Quran,Jesus mentioned it in the Bible,so did Moses in the Torah, these 3 religions are very similar indeed.
we start with Adam and Eve and end in judgement day.

As far as other religions go, i don't know about afterlife there but due respect to all other faiths as i don't discriminate anyone on their beliefs, each to their own.

i believe this life is a test for mankind, all good deeds/bad deeds will determine his final fate.

Strawberries grown hydroponically have higher levels of anti-oxidants than soil grown strawberries, but for Raspberries, it's the other way round.

So strawberries should be grown hydroponically then? Well, not necessarily, because contrary to popular belief antioxidants aren't a more is better thing - oxidation is required for normal cellular function, and too many antioxidants is just as bad - and at extreme levels, much worse - than not enough. So perhaps raspberries should be grown hydroponically, and strawberries in soil?

Well, maybe not - because levels of fructose are always higher in soil grown produce, which is why soil grown food tastes better. But too much sugar is bad, right? Well yes - but overall, not the concentration in a particular food.

Hydroponics need less water than soil grown, except where I live, most of the water comes from the sky. I only have to get the watering can out a handful of times a year...and it's all been collected from rainfall over the year - so while technically hydroponics requires less overall water, it actually requires a much larger amount of drinking water.

Hydroponics requires less space? That one is true. But it also requires more labour, and a pump. And hydroponic fertilizer solution isn't cheap, and it's difficult to make your own, verse soil fertiliser which literally falls out of your arse every couple of days whether you like it or not.

So, my suggestion is that you read lots of science, and come away still not sure what your best bet is.

i agree bouldrake, bigger isnt always better as in this case ;)

but the concept is good...i was looking at ways to experiment and found this video, i wonder if this method i used commercially?

saw some youtube videos today, people are growing potatoes and other vegetables without using soil,i was pretty amazed

basically it starts off by germinating the seed in some bread and feeding it with nutrient rich water then its planted into a pot with holes ,which is then inserted into a dark container containing the same water and left ,,you only top up the water now and again.
on this particular video i watched ,the guy actually experimented with soil and water but the latter proved much more potential, plants were twice the size of the soil one.

interesting stuff,,,,might try this one,,,he did potatoes, lettuce and spinach, but there's plenty of others if you lot are interested in that kind of thing.

i salute you gal,,,well done!

i know and i understand believe me,Pakistan is in the same boat if not worse, the politicians here just love money and so much money its unbelievable,,,,,,they have luxury villas in every city, luxury homes abroad,go shopping in Harrods, setting up new business venture left ,right and centre, not just here but all over the world!
alot of very poor people in Pakistan,i have seen it,its so sad but you can only do so much.
i am not rich,i have worked too and know its hard............luxury items are for people who have too much money to spend, but if thats the case, have a heart and distribute it to the poor,i am sure this way you will get voted again in the next election.

i know people from poor countries risk their lives travelling and working abroad just to survive and send money back to their families, this is so sad,so very sad.

i think the world should be free of politicians and presidents and even the Queen of England,a worthy ruler will always put the needs of his people before his own .

but money rules,,,,,,,,,will always rule...bit of paper, see how much power it got

Yeah , rich people but they are dead now , maybe they did spend a lot on shoes and died from hunger. one is never sure with rich folks

Oh Yeah...President Ferdinand Marcos dead now but Imelda Marcos--A wife still alive as of now And Currently serve in our country as a Congresswoman in Ilocos City...

i bet each of the expensive shoes she owned could have been a life line for the many of poor people in the philippines, they could have used the money to build a better life or at least invested in a small business to start of their lives.

what really makes me angry is many presidents of the world say so much crap before being elected that they will do this and that for the people and yet when they come into power, they forget everything and start filling up their own wardrobes with designer gear and lead luxury life styles while the poor in their country are dying of hunger or at least leading miserable lives. :(

is it hard to forgive and forget....? » Post #16

seaeagle wrote: I'm a very forgiving person. It means I do not always win, and sometimes I get taken advantage of, but being able to forgive & forget means that I can put things behind me and move on with my life without bitterness eating away my insides.

We cannot change the past, so why continue living in it? Sometimes we need to move on (as hard as it may seem to do).

Forgive & forget does not mean literally wiping what happened from your mind. It is about acknowledging that you can't change what happened, and getting on with life without the memories of what occurred holding you back.

I class being unable to forgive or forget as a form of bitterness, and we all know what they say about bitterness. That it is like taking poison & hoping the other person will die, or that it is a cancer that eats the host from the inside.

If you cannot forgive or forgot, then you are also denying the other person the opportunity to make things right again.

Of course, some people are just bad for you & should be cut out of your life, but I've found that, in the main, most people who do the wrong thing feel embarrassed & ashamed that they have let the other person down & want to right the wrong. That requires forgiveness from the wronged person.

seaeagle, sometimes you can tell alot from just reading a persons post and from reading yours i conclude that you indeed are a very loving, caring and kind person.

ever word in your post is true and i fully agree with what you said, big hugzz from me :)

Honestly ;

It depends on what people have done , some things can not be forgiven sometimes , such as infidelity , etc.

But i would like to be forgiven myself if i've done something stupid and then i try to be generous back on that.

But as i said , some things i just can not get over.

Forgive my bad English , i wrote on American , hope you can forget that too.

oh zegon your post was so sweet,i just have to forgive you :D

that's true too ,as you put it lightly and looking at it from a humorous point of view but you get my drift don't you?

im just saying i sometimes find it hard to apologise and forgive especially when the other person is at fault and wont even admit it,,,
there was a quote here i posted which was really to the point,,,

'apologizing doesn't necessarily mean the other person is right, its just that you value your relationship more than your ego'

anyway something like this...

money will always bring people together no doubt that i agree with 100%,like bees round a honey pot
