Gay marriage debate? » Post #32

Fri Mar 25, 2016 08:12 in General Talk

Although I personally find some gays' claiming attitude to be too repetitive, loud and tiring, I don't see where the big deal is if two consenting adult men or women want to be together and legalise their union to have the same rights as an heterosexual couple. Two human beings wanting to share their lives... seriously, I can't see where the harm is. I'd only be concerned about another person's sexual condition if I fell in love with a man only to find out he's gay, which I highly doubt will ever happen... and I'd just put up with it anyway.

I mean, you can't ask a sheep to be your wife, so humans marrying animals is kind of a totally different (and bizarre) issue (I find it hard to believe that both situations can even be compared). Civil law is one thing and spiritual beliefs/religion/church are another (or so they should be, the way I see it).

And just as a reminder for those putting their hands on their heads, homosexuality is also found in the animal kingdom; considering we're evolved animals (though I've recently started to doubt whether we're still evolving or stepping backwards), I guess this dismisses homosexuality being unnatural as an argument against it.

Just stumbled upon this one by "chance"... and wondered how come I had never listened to it.

Placebo - Begin the end

It's a very nice Saturday, Spring is so close around here!

While the video and lyrics are kind of gloomy, this tune makes me imagine myself riding my bike accross a field while feeling the spring-like breeze in my face. :D (That is, if I could actually ride a bike  ):

You see, to me it's not all about the cast... it's also about the movie genre and whether I'm in the mood for it or not, etc. Thank you all for the suggestion anyway, I'll take it into account.

That's a very good one indeed, though I personally prefer Shutter Island. He's got such a great repertoire (The Basketball Diaries, What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Wolf of Wall Street, Revolutionary Road, Django Unchained, The Great Gatsby...).

I wouldn't be able to pick just one! :)

I've recently found out two easy and powerful ways to downplay those things you can do nothing about but yet disturb you: if you're feeling upset, you can always take a deep breath and say to yourself, "I don't give a f*ck".
And if you're getting to feel overwhelmed, remember: you're going to die anyway.

Qué va, no me preocupo. ;)
